So much progress so far so pleased for everyone. @Rainbowbaby23 hope things get going for you today or tomorrow.

I've not had any signs at all yet at 38+2 but with my other 2 labours I didn't have any signs at all and then bam went into labour in the early hours of the morning so perhaps might be the same.

They give me induction leaflets yesterday to look at and my next appointment is at 40+3 and they can offer sweep. Fingers crossed I won't need it.

Blocklynn · 23/02/2023 16:35

@Suchardchoccy congratulations 🥰

AK93 · 23/02/2023 16:36

@muminlndn hope little one is okay and nothing too serious❤

@Suchardchoccy Congratulations! xx

Blocklynn · 23/02/2023 16:37

I had a midwife appointment today (35+6) and asked when they would start talking about sweeps/induction. She said it would be mentioned in my next appointment 37+6 but wouldn’t actually be offered until I was 40 weeks. Only problem with that is the first time they will be there for a regular appointment after will be 41+6 as they are only there every 2 weeks.
Hopefully none of that will be needed!

allthingssparkly · 23/02/2023 16:39

Birth plan done this afternoon with the midwife, induction on Tuesday 😳 still can't believe it's soon to be happening!

Moonicorn · 23/02/2023 16:44

@allthingssparkly oooh can I ask what’s in the plan? As a nosy fellow induction-ee, that is!

Moonicorn · 23/02/2023 16:44

I have my birth plan appointment tomorrow so on the lookout for anything I haven’t thought of!

Saltandpepperr · 23/02/2023 17:39

Still nothing after my sweep no cramps or mucus plug loss which I just find so strange when she said I'm 2cm and waters were ready to go plus she could touch baby head🤣. Just really struggling to walk get up and sit down can barely walk the stairs last couple days.

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 18:04

@Saltandpepperr literally the same predicament I'm in. I'm sure you've seen at least one of my bazillion posts about my mucus plug in the last 3 days 😅 that's all that's resulted from my sweep

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 18:51

@Saltandpepperr also I didn't start losing my plug til the following day so you've got time for things to happen!

OP posts:
Saltandpepperr · 23/02/2023 18:58

@TeddyBeans we will get there in the end. They wanted to bring my induction forward to tomorrow and I said no because I really would like to go on my own. Now wish I said yes because after she done the sweep she said they will be able to just break my waters at my induction next week. I'm not being impatient (promise) 🙂 just really can't walk anymore!

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 19:03

@Saltandpepperr I'm contemplating asking for an induction if nothings happened by Tuesday (have a growth scan, would be nice to see what sort of weight they give her). I don't want to risk my water birth but at the same time I just want her here now 😭

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 23/02/2023 20:00

I've got my last growth scan and consultant appointment tomorrow, nervous for no reason as always 😅 I feel massive and I know if she's measuring big they'll start on at me about the risks of a vba2c and I'm so uncomfortable I might just listen!
Plus side, technically term on Sunday so very ready for her to make her appearance

Easy for me to say but if I were you I would try to hang on unless something pops up to make an induction recommended. It might mean an extra couple of weeks but if you don’t you might always wonder if you know what I mean? But then I’m jealous because I’ve got another early induction 😂

Shep21 · 23/02/2023 20:19

@Blocklynn This sounds very similar to me! Midwife apt tomorrow is 36+6, then another 2 weeks before scheduled again and same again. Unless they have concerns I wont be offered a sweep until 40 weeks. I’ll be asking my midwife if this means the scheduled apt at 40+6 as this is pushing it further than I’d hoped I’d go!

Obviously baby may make their appearance prior to this but never really thought about it until today!

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 20:56

@Dreamingof3 good luck 😊 I'm sure all will be fine! Did you want to try a vbac or are you happy to just whip her out?

@Moonicorn oh I know, I'm just stressed and tired after what I'd hoped was the start of something this morning. Was up at 3.15 with dodgy tummy and yet more mucus plug (honestly, I have no idea how I have so much of the bloody stuff, it's neverending!) Only to have an entire day of absolutely nothing all over again. Will just be gutting if I go over and they end up inducing me anyway

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 23/02/2023 21:05

@TeddyBeans I really want a vbac! Last baby last chance and all that 😅 but I also want to just do what's best for us both... weve luckily had a pretty smooth pregnancy so far but induction isn't an option so it'll be spontaneous labour or planned section!

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 21:13

@Dreamingof3 I feel you, I'm the same about my water birth. Really wanted it last time and we're not having any more babies so this is my last chance 🫠 are planned sections always before due date? Is there any possibility you could bargain for 41 weeks to give yourself a chance at going spontaneously if it's safe to do so?

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 23/02/2023 22:19

@TeddyBeans they'd ideally like 39 weeks but I've pushed it back so I'll be seeing my consultant at 40 weeks and discussing it then!

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 22:22

@Dreamingof3 good luck! Hope you go spontaneously first!! 🍀

Balloon has been in since 6, was uncomfortable going in but bearable (0 dignity left though).

Husband had to leave at 9 but I released him at 7.30 as was tired and wanted to try and rest. Turned the lights off to chill and the contractions/tightening aren't something I can try to sleep though atm and seem to be 30 seconds long everything maybe 5-10 mins, so have a feeling I'm going to be knackered tomorrow and I'm really not looking forward to it 😓😓

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 22:32

@JTB123 there's a saying for pregnancy 'leave your dignity by the door and pick it up on the way out' and it is very much true. The good part is you're so over the whole thing that you really don't care anymore. Hope you get some rest tonight. Have a bath if you can, it really helped me with the continuous discomfort. If you're not opposed to drugs, ask for diamorphine - I found it helped a lot once my contractions ramped up a gear

Not allowed anything on this ward bar paracetamol, until you get send to Labour ward 😩😩 - all I can hear is staff gossiping and brand new babies crying 👌🤣

Cuppasoupmonster · 23/02/2023 22:41

Aww @JTB123 i remember my night with the balloon in very well - painful tightenings all night, I was so tired and fed up by the morning. No advice just sympathy!

Blocklynn · 24/02/2023 06:52

@Shep21 I’ve always been adamant I wasn’t having any intervention if possible which is still my plan but would have considered a sweep at 41 weeks. She did say I could go to a different midwife session if I wanted but will mean travelling for it.
