@Rainbowbaby23 when I was harvesting in hospital it did start quite watery and then the kinda thicker fattier stuff did come in.

My milk has come in today and oh my goooood my boobs are gigantic rocks haha. Baby is combi feeding just now as she was having regular blood sugar tests due to being premature and the breastfeeding and expressing alone wasn't enough. We had the choice of giving her donated breast milk or formula so just went with formula for some top ups.

beatingheartbaby · 23/02/2023 03:12

@Choc2022 they did lend me a pump in hospital to use but not sure if that was standard or just because baby was premature and not so interested in going to the boob herself

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 05:15

Couldn't sleep so got up and started playing about on my phone...then had to go no.2, very loose, huge amount of mucus plug when I wiped as well. If something doesn't happen today I going to throw myself out of a window! If this is early labour then it can fuck off 🤣 I've been doing this for days now! 39+4 - the most pregnant I've ever been

@Choc2022 our mattress was new last year and rather expensive so I have put a waterproof protector on just incase

ToffeeEl · 23/02/2023 06:07

@Eastybaby19 that sounds like a long day waiting around 😭

@Choc2022 a tip I was given I thought sounded good was to lay a couple puppy pads under the sheet on my side of the bed. Handy for if waters go in bed and any bleeding leaks after baby comes. Cheaper than the waterproof protectors and can pop in the bin and replace

muminlndn · 23/02/2023 06:32

Update on my reduced movements monitoring/high blood resistance measurement: baby was delivered safely yesterday around 7:30pm by csection! (36+4)
When I went in for monitoring at lunchtime I was expecting a quick trace and back for dinner 😆
She's spent the night in NICU to stabilise sugar levels and do a few blood tests. Fortunately after stitching up got to have the golden hour and a feed before she was taken off for the tests.

I've still only slept about 30 mins total though, on high alert and surrounded by other people's babies in postnatal 😬

@TeddyBeans I hope something goes for you today! Lots of oxytocin-inducing activities!

@Eastybaby19 sorry you had such a long wait to be admitted. I hope they pull it forward for you unless baby gains a lot by waiting! Consultant said to me for my case waiting a few extra days was more risk than benefit so I ended up delivering before my husband arrived...

Blocklynn · 23/02/2023 06:52

@muminlndn congratulations! Hope she’s doing ok and you are too xx

beatingheartbaby · 23/02/2023 07:01

Congrats @muminlndn !

AK93 · 23/02/2023 07:05

@muminlndn Congratulations! Hope you have her back with you soon ❤
How are you doing other than lack of sleep and waiting to see her?
Are the blood tests the standard or are they doing extra do you know? xx

iratepirate · 23/02/2023 07:24

Was also going to suggest puppy
pads for the mattress. V useful for the first few days after as well.

iratepirate · 23/02/2023 07:31

Congratulations @muminlndn

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 07:35

@muminlndn oh congratulations! Glad it all went well. Hopefully you're both home and can rest up soon! ❤️❤️

Congrats @muminlndn 🥰

My baby is 38 weeks today! Feels like a big number haha

Have a scan in a few days, so hope to see her and know all is well, that would be good reassurance for going into labour ☺️

Perexi · 23/02/2023 08:04

Congratulations @muminlndn

@muminlndn congratulations

muminlndn · 23/02/2023 09:28

Thanks all!
@AK93 they're extra tests to see if there are any reasons why her heart rate was dropping in utero, like a virus, and why she's struggling a little bit with her glucose levels.
I also had extra amniotic fluid so apparently they also check the oesophagus I think with an x-ray as it can in rare cases be linked to issues.

Hopefully glucose is stable soon and she can come back from NICU

Moonicorn · 23/02/2023 09:30

Can any boy mums give me some tips about the nappy change? Do you really need to put a muslin over it when changing to avoid him peeing in your face 😆 all new to me, a baby girl was of course easy! I told DH the other day potty training will all be down to him this time..!

@TeddyBeans great list! There is a postnatal topic, I’m happy to whip up a thread although I haven’t popped yet? Let me know!

Cats23 · 23/02/2023 09:35

Huge congratulations @muminlndn

@Choc2022 Yes puppy pads!!! I have them under my bed sheet and on my drivers seat- had to get my car valeted after Dc2, waters on car seat was no fun haha!!

Ive been feeling so ' laboury last few days. I cant explain it. Ive also now got lower back ache, I feel ' bulgey' below (Tmi) nights are the worst- im expecting my waters to go anytime!!
Im 35+2. Being induced at 37 though.
Growth scan, monotering and consultant today.

JTB123 · 23/02/2023 10:04

Congratulations @muminlndn 💗🥰

@Choc2022 puppy pads will be useful for bed but will probably move around a lot! I bought a waterproof mattress sheet that I keep under my normal sheet! 👌

No update after my sweep really, slept fine, no more cramps, still light blood when wiping but v v little! - all set for induction at 4 EEK 😬

TeddyBeans · 23/02/2023 10:15

@muminlndn hope all her tests come back okay ❤️

@Moonicorn noooo! All you need to do is waft the nappy a bit and then cover him back up with it. Apparently the cold air prompts them to wee so wafting the nappy gets cold in there and then you use the nappy itself as protection. I think DS peed on me maybe 2 times. Don't count on DP to need to potty train either, my DS much prefers to sit to wee 🤣

@JTB123 good luck! Hope your induction is nice and smooth ❤️

Congratulations @muminlndn
@Eastybaby19 also being sent up to triage for monitoring and a sweep. Came for my complex care app and she said she's not satisfied that I said baby has got slower over the last week and I should have called. I just thought because baby is bigger they have less room to move she told me that it's the case for them doing big movement but should still be feeling him regular. Currently waiting to be admitted and its very busy and hot!

JTB123 · 23/02/2023 10:17

@Moonicorn I bought some pee pee tipis from Etsy for my 1st 👌😂🤣

Bobduncan · 23/02/2023 10:24

Has anyone bought any newborn sensory toys? I keep seeing these black and white cards being advertised on Instagram and I'm wondering if it's just a marketing ploy, or if its any good for baby? X
