I thought I'd make this for anyone receiving their BFPs in the next few weeks!

Currently exactly 4 weeks. Still super early, especially after an early MC last time, but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!

Hey lab friend!

Ok, maybe I should tell my boss... 🤦‍♀️
I was thinking of telling the health and safety officer but just haven't had chance.
Sorry about your previous loss 💕

What sort of lab do you work in?

adayatatime23 · 01/02/2023 06:27

@Pollie89

def only tell your boss if you are comfortable! You don’t have to and I didn’t the first time but I felt that I told her when I mc’d so I might as well tell her I was pregnant again!
i work in a microbiology lab but in teaching not research most of the time (so less nasty stuff!)
what about you?

Needtobuildabridge · 01/02/2023 07:21

@TealDreams I woke up on Sunday with no symptoms at all, spent the day panicking, only for everything to hit me again at bedtime!

I think it's normal, but it makes me worry too 🙈

Yay - Lab mums to be ❤️!

I work in forensics. Most of the work I do is chemical based and we occasionally have biohazard risks. We are always fully PPE’d and in a well ventilated environment however there are still risks from just general “exposure”.

I felt silly telling mine this early on but they were completely understanding! They sat with me yesterday and did a full risk assessment and we agreed that I’ll be taken off physical work and now be admin based for the first trimester so we don’t run that risk - like I say no idea how we’re not going to raise suspicions (the joys of a lab!😅)

I would recommend letting them know as soon as possible or at least contacting your HS rep ❤️

Hi Everyone, after visiting the recurrent miscarriage clinic this week I’ve been prescribed HCG injections for the first 12 weeks, and first reassurance scan is in 10 days. Is anyone else taking/or taken before HCG injections? Hoping this means we will finally have a successful pregnancy after 3 losses but not relishing taking injections for next 8 weeks!

lighthousechristmas · 01/02/2023 10:27

Hiya, Been watching this thread for few days. My expected due date is 3rd October, so i'm 5 weeks. It's my first pregnancy. Just had call from Midwife who has booked in an appointment on 1st March (no scan just chatting). It's already been longest week ever, it's going so slow! Trying to stay positive.

lighthousechristmas · 01/02/2023 11:18

I've just booked a private scan for 2 weeks, so i'll be just over 7 weeks i think

fleur89 · 01/02/2023 13:02

Just had a call back from the midwife and they are likely to give me an early scan because I don't know my due date. This is because I ovulated before my periods returned post-natal and fell pregnant. I don't know when I ovulated and my last period was May 2021 before DD1 😆

@New2thisss @adayatatime23

I told my boss today as I've been mega poorly with what I think is possibly a chest infection 🤦‍♀️
Worrying about having a high temp so booked a go appointment for this afternoon.
My boss was good about it, she agreed that I needed to get checked out. Better to be safe when growing a human!

It's nice having lab friends on here! I work in histology

Porshldn93 · 01/02/2023 17:15

Hello everyone! Room for one more? I got my BFP on 27th Jan. I’m 4 weeks + 5 xx

85Jen · 01/02/2023 17:25

I'm 4+2 today with a due date of 9th October. I've got a 22 month old so this is my second baby. I'm an older mum (37) so was shocked to get a positive result this month as it's only our second month of trying. Self referred to the hospital today and have my booking in appointment in early march and the 12 week scan at the end of march. Hope everyone is doing ok!

Chanteuse · 01/02/2023 18:01

Is anyone else super tired already?! I’m exhausted! I also have a slight cough at the moment and that’s making me gip 😩

MuppetTime · 01/02/2023 18:27

How do people stop themselves going bonkers testing all the time? I always told myself if I got a positive I wouldn't keep testing as that won't change the outcome. What have I done instead? Took about 7 tests in the last 48 hours. I wish I could just relax and accept that what will be will be! I'm going to have no money left at this rate! I'm annoyed at myself for being so ridiculous!

You're not going mad! I felt exactly the same after 2 losses. I keep occasionally taking tests.xxx

I think we're all the same don't worry!🤣I've stocked up on first response for when I hopefully get my positive 🤞🏼 best believe Ile be testing every day lol. And having the cheapys too so Ile be using them twice a day!🤣

MuppetTime · 01/02/2023 18:54

The only other time I got a positive was 14 years ago which ended in an early loss. Wasn't able to TTC again (never found the right person) until a year ago so this is my first one since then. I'd pretty much given up on conceiving naturally (almost 41) and we were meant to start IVF this month. I never tested early in that year at all. Only tested this time around 12/13dpo as my temp went up for a couple of days and I hadn't started spotting liked I normally do. And now I've started I can't seem to stop! Argh! Plus i keep poking my boobs to see if they hurt more/less etc.

I've had to hide my tests in the bedroom! I was testing soooo much every time I went to the toilet for the sake of it but not now I have to think about getting one first 😂 just feel so lucky and blessed to be expecting again, it doesn't feel real all

Infinitebows · 01/02/2023 19:37

I keep poking my boobs too to check they still hurt 😂 I feel a bit dumb now because I have only done the one clear blue test and haven't dared test since, just want to enjoy the moment of having a positive. I'm worried now and thinking I'm going to get another test tomorrow!

Jigglemonster · 01/02/2023 20:05

Laughing at the boob poking! I'm doing the same. I'm also second guessing whether my symptoms are real or I'm just imagining them. Googling all sorts of 'is x a sign of early pregnancy', numb feet, tingly boobs, a funny taste. I thought I had the smelling toast symptom but turns out my DH had made toast 😂

Needtobuildabridge · 01/02/2023 20:36

@Chanteuse @Jigglemonster @MuppetTime @Infinitebows I've jist read the last few posts going "yep, that's me"
! 😂 Testing like mad, boob poking, hardly any energy for anything. At least we're all mad together? 😂

The toast thing is definitely a symptom! I had it with my first born, always early in the morning while lying in bed. No one had made any toast

BambiBooBoo · 01/02/2023 23:10

Is anyone feeling a nervous wreck?
I'm not actually feeling very pregnant (probably because it's so early)

But my TikTok for you page is absolutely full of miscarriage and infant loss videos and it's making me so so paranoid that it's a "sign" even tho I don't believe in that 😩😩

Rabbithole27 · 02/02/2023 05:56

@BambiBooBoo my TikTok is the same! I’m thinking of giving myself a tiktok ban for a while as it’s really not helping with the anxiety 🫣

adayatatime23 · 02/02/2023 06:30

@BambiBooBoo @Rabbithole27

my TikTok is the same! It’s horrible

afinethingindeed · 02/02/2023 07:23

@BambiBooBoo yes I am!
I am just worried about it being a chemical at the moment - 4 weeks tomorrow which is so ridiculously early. I think I'll relax a little in a couple of weeks. Until the next thing to worry about...
