I thought I'd make this for anyone receiving their BFPs in the next few weeks!

Currently exactly 4 weeks. Still super early, especially after an early MC last time, but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!

Evening everyone.

Anyone any tips for insomnia? I can fall asleep OK but just can't stay asleep. Seen every hour on the clock last night 🥴 have been waking atleast 4 times a night since I found out I was pregnant. Just turned 6 weeks today.

I feel the same!! Currently fighting my sleep on the sofa right now because I know if I got to bed too early ill be awake all night. Don't think I've had a full night's sleep in over a week. I'm 5wks tomorrow.

Same here. Already dreading going to bed because I know what I'm in for 😴 why do the sleepless nights have to start already 🙈🤣

Hahah when I told my sister the other day she was all oh you need to be sleeping and getting plenty of rest the 1st 12 weeks....yep that would be great if I could 🤣🙈

BoyMamaChloe · 15/02/2023 21:00

@bambi102 @Sineadf91 I had terrible pregnancy insomnia with my little boy! I saw on some archived insta stories earlier that I was having duvet days and just napping whenever I needed (2020 baby so I was furloughed). Now I'm desperately trying to squeeze in a nap when my toddler naps and I don't even have insomnia (yet?!)

Smiffette · 15/02/2023 21:18

@mariamari I know what you mean about age, I've done the same looking at others who have had them "later". I just turned 39 a couple months ago and I'm now pregnant with my second. only 4+2

@Jadeypie so sorry, thinking of you x

AlongcameLainey · 15/02/2023 21:47

@Jadeypie so sorry to hear this. I know how devastating it is receiving that news.

I have endo which restricted a tube so my first pregnancy in 2019 was an ectopic for that reason. Sadly it wasn’t picked up in time and my tube ruptured so had to be removed. I was pregnant with my little girl 4 months later though so don’t give up hope 💕

Currently awaiting an early scan on Friday to check if this pregnancy could be ectopic too due to one sided pain.

mariamari · 15/02/2023 21:55

Thanks @Smiffette that’s reassuring. In so many ways I feel more prepared than younger versions of myself for this. Certainly more grounded & less stressy… I am 6+2 & it’ll be my first… trying to flow with it although feeling v pooped!

mariamari · 15/02/2023 21:59

@Chanteuse I am 6+2 also! Due 9 October right? With you & the fatigue. Feeling a little sorry for hubby who is adjusting to it all…

MeganC104 · 15/02/2023 22:31

Has anyone not told their partner yet. I'm kind of nervous to tell mine. We both want another baby but my husband has been really stressed recently and I'm worried this will add to it

Chanteuse · 15/02/2023 23:25

@Jadeypie so sorry to hear that lovely 😞 hope you’re being supported 💕

@mariamari yes Oct 9th for now until we’re dated! My NHS due date is the 11th but I know when I ovulated so I’m going off that as I think it’ll be more accurate!

TMI but my nipples are so painful today - it literally hurt to take off my bra! Problem for me is that I already have quite large boobs 🙈 does anyone have any recommendations for a supportive but comfy bra? I think I need to move to sports bra types cause it’s super painful

Jealousofchiliheeler · 16/02/2023 05:56

@Hankthehonk hey, good to see you here too!

@Jadeypie oh man, so sorry to hear that it's an ectopic, hope you are well and they caught it early

bbonthehill · 16/02/2023 06:31

Hi everyone 👋 i have been quietly reading your messages over the past 2 weeks 🙈 According to my app I am 5 + 4 and this is my first pregnancy. We have been TTC for what feels like a while so was really excited to see the positive result ❤️ I don't have much symptoms at all and it is getting me worried even if I know it can be totally normal. So I am trying to find reassuring signs 😅 I did another cheapy yesterday and noticed that the control line is still much darker than the test line. Does it mean my HCG level are too low? I am 25 dpo.

Malzzy · 16/02/2023 06:42

Random one- is anyone super itchy?!
I vaguely remember it early on with my daughter, but that was 8 years ago so struggling to remember. It can't have lasted long though or I'd have remembered it properly. It's everywhere, but worse under my boobs and I only really notice it at night!
appart from boobs being sore, that's my only symptom at 5+1

ashmanzoey · 16/02/2023 07:47

Hey all.. New to this forum. Currently 4w6d. Due 20th October.

Was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me in terms of cramping, I have been having pain and cramping for 2 days now, it's not like period cramps, it's more like aching with occasional right sided pain. Its a very uncomfortable feeling and do not remember having this with previous pregnancies. I have had 2 miscarriages many years ago and 2 healthy children since. I have had no bleeding atall, but I am that uncomfortable it's keeping me awake at night and I can't seem to divert my attention from it by keeping busy.

It actually feels very similar to a UTI, but it's not a UTI as I have test strips at home and all looks good, also no other symptoms of a UTI.

Can anyone related? Has me really worried but this early on there is very little I can really do, seems pointless having a scan just yet!

MeganC104 · 16/02/2023 08:18

@ashmanzoey yes, I'm getting this. Like aching. I had pain in my back until I was 5 weeks I think with my son. This time the pain feels more in my hips and does wake me up to shift position

This is literally exactly it, it's making my back hurt too. It's just this constant achiness with a side of mild pain. It's so scary when you haven't had it before, 4 pregnancies for me in total and never had this with any of them. And being my last baby I am really wanting it to go as smoothly as possible.

We have already decided if anything were to go wrong, that would be it till middle of the year as financially we wouldn't want a baby in Nov, Dec, Jan time. So heres to hoping this little bean sticks!

Summer022 · 16/02/2023 09:27

@PeopleAreToads good to see you here too! I have been doing the same, I can’t seem to peel myself away from google right now 🤣 We definitely have time for symptoms to show, or it may just be that we won’t have many symptoms! It would be nice for something to show up for some reassurance though. Xx

@PrimarilyParented Thank you so much, that’s really put my mind at ease. I think because we relate sickness so much with pregnancy we just assume it will be a symptom we all get, but I may just not get very many symptoms. I will say though last night before bed I noticed bright blue veins on one of my boobs which has never been so prominent before. Apparently that’s a good sign as it’s to do with the blood flow and the baby.

so sorry for my million questions, I just have one more on dates etc. all of my apps are saying different things about how many weeks pregnant I am. When I count from my LMP, I will be 5 weeks tomorrow. NHS website is saying I’m 4 weeks and Flo and Premom are saying 5 weeks today. It’s SO confusing 🙈 Any advice welcome xx

Needtobuildabridge · 16/02/2023 09:35

@Summer022

The NHS website doesn't do days, so if you're 4+6, it'll say 4 weeks. The NHS website also take account of cycle length, whereas Flo and Premom don't.
Is your cycle longer than 28 days?

@Summer022 Sorry, I've read that back and it looks really blunt! Just trying to help, clearly I'm not a great typer 🙈

amybooth · 16/02/2023 09:43

Is anyone still testing? I'm 5+3 today, haven't tested since Sunday last week but just have a real urge to test today. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to testing regularly (LH and hcg) after trying for so long or if it's a reassurance thing. I'm seriously trying to hold off buying more

Summer022 · 16/02/2023 09:49

@Needtobuildabridge Oh no don’t worry that wasn’t blunt at all! That’s actually really useful as I didn’t know the NHS didn’t do days! My cycle varies each month but is averaging at 30 days. I guess the NHS website is the most accurate? xx

Needtobuildabridge · 16/02/2023 09:54

@Summer022 okay, if you're on a 30 day cycle, then just take 2 days (30-2=28) off the LMP date. So, if you're 4+6 today based off LMP, then you're actually 4+4 taking account of your longer cycle.
Does that make sense? 😂

Yep! I really should stop. I've mainly only used One Step cheapies though, and the 2 lines have been exactly the same colour for days. So I don't think they even can get any darker.
We've been trying for 5 years so I think it's just to remind myself that this is happening (so far!)

monsteramunch · 16/02/2023 10:20

@Malzzy

Oh gosh five years! I'm so pleased for you and have everything crossed for you Flowers

amybooth · 16/02/2023 10:30

@Malzzy I'm so pleased for you, after trying for so long I can't imagine how amazing it is seeing those two lines.

I got a 2-3 on a clearblue digital last week and I think I'm mainly wanting to buy another digital hoping to see 3+ but then I also don't want to worry myself if it doesn't show 3+
