I thought I'd make this for anyone receiving their BFPs in the next few weeks!

Currently exactly 4 weeks. Still super early, especially after an early MC last time, but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!

@Hankthehonk that's a good idea, it does help to tell someone at work I think, makes you feel less like you're lying to everyone too if you have to nip out or have an appt etc lol. I've recently stopped working as we moved into our new house and honestly I'm so much more tired being a SAHM than I was in my full time job 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

It's so weird though, we haven't told our year old and yet he keeps mentioning "the baby" and talking about babies!!

katherine123x · 14/02/2023 07:54

@iloveeggs if it will put your mind at ease then do it!!

iloveeggs · 14/02/2023 07:57

@katherine123x Definitely no harm. Might call my GP too, have an app on Thursday but might try to get in sooner just for my own anxiety. Awful cramps in my left side last night, it's hard not to think the worst isn't it?

Hopefulx · 14/02/2023 08:17

Hey ladies, I’ll be 5 weeks on Thursday and have zero symptoms.. is anyone else in this position? I’ve stopped testing now but having no symptoms also worries me

Beemug · 14/02/2023 08:36

@Hopefulx dont worry about no symptoms! Not everyone gets them!

Ive bought new bras and wow what a difference they make! 😆

afinethingindeed · 14/02/2023 08:47

@Hopefulx I don't have any symptoms! I'm 5+5. And I didn't really have any with DD a couple of years ago. I feel like there would be a sort of comfort with having symptoms, just something to show that stuff is happening. It's not a bad thing though 😊

SEG92 · 14/02/2023 08:48

Morning everyone,

I discovered another new fun pregnancy symptom last night - nose bleed! Also the night sweats, 3 times in the last week I've woken up so sweaty (tmi I know). Dr Google says it's normal but it's so gross, but weirdly reassuring to have symptoms I guess?!

5 weeks today, I only found out on Saturday why is time going so slow 🤣

Summer022 · 14/02/2023 08:52

Hi ladies, just wondering if I could join your thread. Got my BFP last Friday and if my dates are correct I am 4 weeks 5days currently. Due around October 24th. This is my first pregnancy and I’m so nervous about miscarrying. I have been taking testing every 48 hours or so to see if the line is getting darker which is definitely is. I am so excited but scared to get excited if that makes sense!! Xxx

SEG92 · 14/02/2023 09:05

@Summer022 hey lovely congratulations! I am 2 days ahead of you and also my first pregnancy. I'm terrified of miscarrying too but trying not to test anymore (I did 5 tests over 2 days). I've googled pregnancy affirmations and things to do week by week of your pregnancy to keep you focused, and I've also booked an early private scan for 2 weeks when I hope to see the heart beat. Sending lots of love xxxx

Mum2yorkie · 14/02/2023 10:04

Morning ladies, been lurking a few days and decided now it's sunk in to join in! I had a surprise pregnancy last year which sadly ended in miscarriage at 14 weeks, waited ages for my cycle to get back to normal and slowly gave up hope that I'd fall pregnant again (both hubby and I are 38 year old so not exactly in our baby making prime and months went by!) Period was late so did a test on Saturday and I'm pregnant. According to the due date calculator I'm 4+6.

I'm trying not to overthink it after last year and darent tell a soul - I was in 2 minds about telling my hubs but I couldn't keep it to myself anymore! Anyway, just wanted to say I'm very sorry to hear about the losses some of you ladies have had both recently and in the past, good baby dust and luck to us all and here's hoping for positive experiences 🤞

MushyMam22 · 14/02/2023 10:06

@Hopefulx I’m not experiencing many symptoms either- well I thought I wasn’t but my partner asked how I felt different to normal and actually there’s quite a few symptoms! I’m so much more tired, have tender boobs, more thirsty and hungry too. Even the tiniest of things can count as a symptom. :-)

MushyMam22 · 14/02/2023 10:07

Hi all 👋 I’ve been lurking here for around a week now. I’m almost 6 weeks with my 2nd baby, due date should be around October 13th. 😊

Hankthehonk · 14/02/2023 10:29

@Summer022 Hi - we are due date buddies! I'm also due Oct 24th, and also found out last Friday. I'm in exactly the same boat with anxiety and testing even though this is my second. To be honest I didn't feel calm until we had the early scan at 7+3 last time, I am planning to book one for around 8 weeks this time if all going well. It was absolutely worth it for me, if that is something you can afford to do (they are usually £50-60, where I live anyway) I would really recommend it.

@Mum2yorkie welcome and congratulations. I'm so sorry for your previous loss. This is a great space to actually talk about it when we're having to pretend everything is normal in the rest of our lives!

@MushyMam22 welcome and congratulations! How old is your first?

MushyMam22 · 14/02/2023 10:33

@Hankthehonk Thank you! He will be 4 in April 😊

amybooth · 14/02/2023 10:40

Ladies that are booking early scans, what date are you booking them for? I'm wanting to book one for when I'm exactly 7 weeks but worried they won't see anything abdominally if it's too early then I'll panic

Summer022 · 14/02/2023 10:44

@SEG92 Hi lovely! Oh how exciting, congratulations to you too! I totally agree and I think it’s hard when it’s our first pregnancy as we’ve no idea what to expect or what is considered ‘normal’ if you know what I mean! I think the early scan is a fabulous idea and so exciting. I am going to try and end every week feeling super grateful for another week safely gone by and hope for the best 💖 xxxx

@Hankthehonk Ahhhh hey due date buddy! It’s so nice having ladies to talk to in the same pregnancy boat. I definitely think I will book an early scan just to check in and ensure everything is ok. It feels like a very loooong wait til 12ish weeks for an NHS scan doesn’t it! Hopefully October will come around super quickly and we’ll all have our babies here xxx

This is my first pregnancy so not too sure how things work, but I have filled in self-referral form for our local maternity service. Does anyone know roughly when the first midwife call/appointment will come? Xxx

SEG92 · 14/02/2023 11:00

@Summer022 thanks lovely 🥰 such an exciting journey! Ending the week feeling grateful is a brilliant idea, I keep thinking it's just amazing I've got pregnant and to be grateful for that ❤️

I filled in the self referall forms online the other day and sent a message on this non urgent online chat they have and they said I should have letters for scans, booking appointment etc in 2-3 weeks, and I may well get a phone call in the next few weeks too.

For mine I filled out an online form and put in first day of my last period and they gave me a date, 20th, when i'll be just over 7 weeks. I'm a bit worried it's too early like you say but assume they wouldn't have given me that date if they thought too early to see anything.

I've booked mine for when I'm exactly 8 weeks, which is next Wednesday! With my first pregnancy, I had the first scan when I was 7+1, it was reassuring but barely anything visible in the pic, that's why I decided to give it a bit longer. The clinic which I used this time says, even though you can book it when you're 7 weeks, sometimes the scan fails to carry the full assessment so it's more beneficial to wait until the 8 week mark...(however, this scan is abdominal, the one in my previous pregnancy was internal).

BoyMamaChloe · 14/02/2023 11:41

I had a 7 week scan with my little boy and he was a cute little prawn by then lol. I'm having a scan this weekend at 6 weeks to check things are in the right place etc (previous losses) and the EPU are booking an appointment at 7 weeks, which should be internal again

doublewater · 14/02/2023 11:42

@BoyMamaChloe I've got my scan on Friday and will be 7 weeks. It's going to be an internal scan so quick question...do they hurt? 🙈 Feel silly even asking!

BoyMamaChloe · 14/02/2023 11:46

@doublewater not a silly question! Absolutely doesn't hurt but it's one of those things that's not the most comfortable lol. It's just like a rounded plastic rod with a condom on and you feel a bit of pressure when they're moving it around to look at everything x

doublewater · 14/02/2023 11:51

@BoyMamaChloe Ah thanks so much! That definitely helps to put my mind at rest a bit x

I had 1 on Sunday and I was exactly 7 weeks. They saw a heartbeat and dated me 6 +5. Also had one at the same time with my first pregnancy and saw a heartbeat then as Both abdominal scans

amybooth · 14/02/2023 11:58

@Kat32x that's good to know, im now leaning towards booking it when im 7+3. I know it's only a couple of days but think i would be more reassured that I'll see something- that is also the evening before my first midwife appointment too
