I thought I'd make this for anyone receiving their BFPs in the next few weeks!

Currently exactly 4 weeks. Still super early, especially after an early MC last time, but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!

@Allaboutmama that's good to know. Was it abdominal or transvaginal?

Hankthehonk · 14/02/2023 12:03

@doublewater Just a heads up that after I had an internal scan with my previous pregnancy I experienced some light bleeding that night. I totally freaked out, but they had not told me this can happen with the internal scan. I put in a complaint because they really should have told me that, which they admitted. My pregnancy was fine so it was totally unnecessary stress.

Smiffette · 14/02/2023 12:06

@amybooth I've booked one for the 2nd March when I'll be 6+3 it will be transvaginal and it did say when I booked you need to be at least 6 weeks.

Last time I got dated a week ahead so might find that to be the case again which would be nice.

There's no way I could have waited until 12 weeks! Seems so far away and until I see the little heart beat I can't relax.

I'm 39 and just thinking of all the possible risks associated with being older mum!

amybooth · 14/02/2023 12:12

@Smiffette it's crazy how much anxiety early pregnancy can cause. I was so naive after ttc for so long that I thought I'd just be relaxed and happy once I got pregnant but the anxiety and worry about things being okay is crazy

Jadeypie · 14/02/2023 12:28

@amybooth I would book in for two weeks ahead of what u think you are.

I had a early scan yesterday and they couldn't see anything and it's the worst being in limbo now. Thinking am I behind in weeks or what so from my experience I would say wait till you think your 8-9 weeks x

NSx · 14/02/2023 12:30

Hi girls can I join, I just found out I’m pregnant today after losing my baby girl at 4 months last May 🤍 .. this is my first baby
I should be due 28 October 🤞🤍

nice to meet you all xx

Smiffette · 14/02/2023 13:13

@amybooth I know so much anxiety!

I've just rung up and pushed my scan back a week, just to be safe. Then I'll be 7+3 and even if my dates are 2 weeks out, the heartbeat is there from 5 weeks.

Now I have an extra week to wait though!

braxxen · 14/02/2023 13:15

@amybooth My early scan was dated 7 weeks and 2 days. They could see a flutter which they said was a heart beat and could confirm I had one embryo in the correct place. The picture itself it just a spot though!

@doublewater The scan was internal. It was comfortable but it didn't hurt if that makes sense.

@Mum2yorkie Welcome and sending you all the positive vibes. So sorry for your previous loss. The great thing about this forum is talking to others going through similar experiences when you aren't ready to tell real world people yet!

@MushyMam22 Welcome!

monsteramunch · 14/02/2023 13:26

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

I'm going to book a 7ish week scan for reassurance I think, too.

I'm 5 weeks today and I can't believe the migraine I've had for days on end now.

Have had to write off a few days work wise as it's just not possible to get anything else done like this. So I've cleared my diary until closer to the end of the week which gives me some breathing room.

Going to sleep in pain and waking up in pain is horrible. I just keep repeating to myself that it's all worth it (because it obviously is!) and that it's part of the journey.

Has anyone else had migraines early on (from around 4 weeks) and it's all turned out ok?!

mariamari · 14/02/2023 13:28

@NSx welcome & congratulations!!! Sorry to hear about your loss & praying goes one way. Sending lots of love & encouragement!

@amybooth I just booked a private scan for 7 weeks which I'm hoping will be supportive just to show things are in the right place (I'm currently 6+1), I'm 38 & intuitively felt this would be a good moment. I can relay back how it goes!

I'm based overseas so having to do things through the local system. I'd like a home-birth so reached out to some midwifes & booked a call with a recommended doula yesterday.

I've also got a call with a nutritionist today who can help with blood readings, supplements & diet. It feels so grounding & like an act of faith to organise these things so far in advance.

What's everyone else doing that's helping in these early days?

mariamari · 14/02/2023 13:29

@NSx Meant to say praying this one goes the whole way! Much love❤

NSx · 14/02/2023 13:30

@mariamari thank you so much ❤️
I have a 8 week scan booked as a reassurance scan because of my history but I don’t think you really know much until atleast 12 weeks, so will see! When are u due?

BoyMamaChloe · 14/02/2023 13:30

Eek! After not testing for a few days, I got my beautiful dye stealer today 🥰

Due October 2023
NSx · 14/02/2023 13:45

@BoyMamaChloe congratulations 🤍 how many dpo are u?

amybooth · 14/02/2023 13:48

@Smiffette if I book the scan for 27th February I'll be exactly 8 weeks based on my lmp, I'm just estimating 7weeks based on ovulation. I'm going off ovulation though as that's the earliest I can be

monsteramunch · 14/02/2023 13:48

That's great @BoyMamaChloe congrats Flowers

I was so excited to see a dye stealer here too!

Due October 2023

katherine123x · 14/02/2023 14:24

@BoyMamaChloe I feel like that today!! It's surreal!!!

Infinitebows · 14/02/2023 15:59

Hey all, just checking in with a quick update, tentatively keeping my hopes up foot in the door I guess. I've cancelled my MW appt for tomorrow, I called the doctor yesterday as still bleeding and felt I needed a scan sooner, long story short the next emergency scan appt is Friday morning so I'm booked in for then. Had an internal again today and cervix is still fully closed (possible good sign 🤷🏼‍♀️) Still in limbo and really hate this not knowing, it all feels very familiar to last MC though but I just want to know for sure before I give up all hope. I don't want to sound like a moaner as I know they'll be stretched to the max but my MW is near on useless and the local maternity unit is super difficult to get hold of, the service was really shitty last year and it looks like I am going to have to same awful experience again. Quick update I said 🤣 I can't seem to do quick, sorry!

Congratulations all newbies 🫶🏻 xx

Hi lovelies,

does anyone else experience light cramping in the first trimester? I have been having some what feel like AF cramps but no where near as bad. Hoping it’s normal, they only happen now and again. I also have super sore and achy nipples but that’s all the symptoms I have got for now. I wanted to book an early scan but can’t decide who to book it with, does anyone have any experience with Ultrasound Direct? Thanks all xx

Smiffette · 14/02/2023 16:38

@Summer022 I've not experienced them, I've had scans previously with Window to the Womb, high is who I have booked one with again

Hi, I've used Ultrasound direct with my first one (back in 2019) and even though it was ok as they did confirm the baby was there etc (I was 7w 1, internal scan), I never went back there, as I think the lady was very quiet and I felt awkward asking more questions plus the quality of the scan photo was quite poor, but it's just my experience from a while ago, probably would be different for someone else. They still reassured me so that's what matters :) still, when I used another company for the next scans, I found it a much better experience :)
