I thought I'd make this for anyone receiving their BFPs in the next few weeks!

Currently exactly 4 weeks. Still super early, especially after an early MC last time, but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!

LWestYorks · 13/02/2023 17:58

@fleur89 thank you - I’ll treat myself
to some! I think we’re similar time, I’m 5+4 how far on are you? How are you feeling? X

My hair is sooo greasy too!!
it’s super dry normally, barely needs weekly washing, but now I’m two to 3 days and it’s done!
but it’s pretty shiny

braxxen · 13/02/2023 18:39

Does anyone have tips for staying hydrated?

I'm really struggling to drink much of anything.

Water I can sip really slowly if sickness is less intense. I'm drinking about 3/4 of a pint a day at most.

Can just about sip half a mug of home made ginger tea in the morning.

I can also just about manage a small glass of apple juice in tiny sips.

Any squash or other juice makes me sick. I've tried Coke zero, sprite and ginger beer and they don't really make a difference.

I'm beginning to get really dehydrated. Barely going to the toilet as not drinking enough. A massive change from before the sickness set it when I needed the loo so much.

Really worried I'm not getting enough fluid in!

katherine123x · 13/02/2023 18:56

@braxxen can you stomach fruits?? Or things like cucumber? Which have lots of fluid in (I think)!

BoyMamaChloe · 13/02/2023 18:58

@braxxen that sounds awful, I really feel for you! It could be worth speaking to your gp if you're concerned and dehydrated, they can give you medication to ease the sickness. Maybe try some rehydration sachets to sip on if you can, just to replace some of what you're losing with the sickness x

braxxen · 13/02/2023 19:14

@katherine123x Thanks. I tried watermelon yesterday and that was a mistake. I have some melon to try tomorrow.

@BoyMamaChloe That might be my next move! I'm still waiting for my self referral to go through atm. My doctors are notoriously difficult to get hold of.

When I am eating I'm only managing salty flavours which I'm wondering if that's a sign of dehydration too.

Allaboutmama · 13/02/2023 19:35

I can recommend The Body Shop's tea tree shampoo and conditioner, I've always had greasy hair (even worse in early pregnancy) and it really helps me go longer between washes. I do also sell the body shop and can share my personal website with anyone that's interested. I also use Bedhead shampoo in the blue bottle and find that really good as well!

iloveeggs · 13/02/2023 19:35

@braxxen Try eat some watermelon if you can, or maybe try some ice pops?

AlongcameLainey · 13/02/2023 19:39

Is anyone else suffering with major bloating that makes you look 6 months pregnant?
my work clothes were tight today 😅

I told my employer today due to having to take Friday afternoon off for my early ultrasound. Fingers crossed I’ll no longer be ‘Pregnancy of Unknown Location’ and belittle bean will show on the scan 🤞

Really struggling with working full time, 2.5 year old and the exhaustion that has come along.

Try to get early nights but wide awake from around 2am every morning!

BoyMamaChloe · 13/02/2023 19:54

@AlongcameLainey keeping everything crossed for you! The exhaustion is just next level isn't it. I had terrible pregnancy insomnia with my little boy and I'm praying its not kicking in already. He's 2.5 now and for some reason woke up 7 times last night 😫 to make it worse I just could not sleep even when he did, so I saw every hour and he was up for the day as usual at 6am xx

Smiffette · 13/02/2023 20:07

@BoyMamaChloe I had pregnancy insomnia with my little girl who is now 2 and 8 months.

I've already started getting it with this one and I'm only 4 weeks 😬 I was awake from 2:15 - 5:30 last night just wide awake

cruciverbalista · 13/02/2023 20:30

So sorry @BambiBooBoo, thinking of you x

AlongcameLainey · 13/02/2023 20:39

@BoyMamaChloe thank you ❤️

Ahh it’s so hard isn’t it.

My little girl has been potty training over the last couple of months and has now started holding her wee at night so we usually get at least 2 wake up calls for her to use the potty in the night and then it’s just impossible to get back to sleep 😴

@Smiffette i didn’t have it with my little girl and we were in lockdown for most of her pregnancy so would have been fine if I needed to nap during the day!

I am hoping this is just because I’m worried about the scan on Friday and then once I have some answers it’ll calm down. My hcg more than doubled which is a good sign so by Friday it should be over 3000 if it continues to double. Hopefully we will be able to see something then!

I had a scan last Friday but my hcg was still low at that point so we weren’t able to locate the little bean!

Needtobuildabridge · 13/02/2023 21:05

@Braxxen Ice pops or just ice might be your friend here. Hope you find something that helps x

Hi Ladies, I had my BETA test today through my clinic and it come back positive 🥰 even though I had tested like a crazy woman last week i was so relieved to have it confirmed today. I'm definitely 4+4. The clinic has booked us in for early scan in 3 weeks time 😀

Great news. My scan is booked for 2 March. Fingers crossed for us both. Xx

JoanneV · 13/02/2023 21:26

Hey everyone 4+2 today on my first so due on the 21st I think. So excited but also worried because I'm already feeling so rough I'm scared of what's coming down the line. Thinking of waiting another week before ringing the gp, just to have some more time to wrap my head around it. Had a chemical in September so I think that's giving me anxiety too.

IaminRome · 13/02/2023 22:05

I'm another one that hasn't rung the GP yet - I'm amazed at the nhs some of you seem to be getting. Last pregnancy when I rang up, they basically didn't care! So this time I think I'll wait a little bit.
Got some more tests arrive this morning and vits too, so will be doing that tomorrow!
Feel rough as 🤢 but ok and finding it a bit reassuring

pangolin84 · 13/02/2023 22:19

I’m in North Bristol and their website says to only self-refer after you’ve reached 6 weeks, so I’m amazed other places are doing booking appointments and blood tests at 5 weeks!
I don’t really mind though. I’d rather not have all the blood tests if the pregnancy’s not viable so I I’ll probably wait until after the early scan (which I haven’t even booked yet). I really hate how miscarriage can make you so hardened at a time that should be full of joy.

I’m so sorry to hear about the sad news from some members of the thread. TTC can be such a cruel beast. Wishing you lots of baby dust for the future x

Saturnsmoon · 13/02/2023 23:16

@LWestYorks yes massively greasy hair over here too!

Smiffette · 14/02/2023 02:41

@pangolin84 I'm in Somerset, I didn't actually notice if it said not to fill in self refer until a certain number of weeks. I have done it now though, from memory with my daughter, even though I did it around 4/5 weeks they didn't get in contact until around 8/9 and had my booking appointment at 10.

I was a bit worried if they would then get the dating scan in quick enough, but they did so that was good. All seemed to move quite smoothly.

Think with my second I have slightly fewer MW appointments, personally I think you should be monitored just as closely with the second as you are the first. NHS scans are still the same, 12 and 20 weeks though.

divorcingmumoftwo · 14/02/2023 03:07

I've just found out I'm 6-8 weeks pregnant with my new partner! I am currently going through divorce and have two children already.
We weren't trying but had discussed that we would like a baby some day, we are both so excited and also shocked.

I have absolutely no idea when I will be due as I was on the pill but I've done a clear blue which states 3+ weeks which is 5+ weeks so who knows. Going to phone the dr tomorrow and see if there's any possibility of a scan as I don't want to miss the 12 week testing.

katherine123x · 14/02/2023 06:32

Got my 2-3 today!! So happy!!! You ladies rule!! Thank you all for your stories. They are helping me more than you would believe and I'm sure I'm talking for most of us here!!

Ss32 · 14/02/2023 07:15

I’m another one struggling with a 2 year old and working full time! Like the others, I was pregnant in lockdown last time (I was 6 weeks when we went into first lockdown!) so could just literally veg for half of my pregnancy. Now it’s all systems go and I’m falling asleep at 7.30 every night putting my little one to bed! Luckily, she generally sleeps through.
I graze all day long as I’m starving but then, by the time I get home, my nausea is awful and I have to keep taking breaks from making tea so I don’t throw up 😂 it’s such a pain! Roll on second trimester!

Hankthehonk · 14/02/2023 07:36

@divorcingmumoftwo Congratulations! Sounds like a lot happening at once but well done taking it in your stride. Let us know when you get an idea of date!

@katherine123x congrats that's awesome! I just did my first digital this morning and got 1-2 as expected so next Tuesday I'll be hoping for that same progression.

@Ss32 it's nice how many of us have 2 year olds and full time jobs! I'm going to tell one close colleague today because I'm so exhausted and sick that I have a feeling it will start impacting my work, and she will be able to cover for me a bit.
My big worry with my (very bright and chatty) 2 yo is how on earth to keep it from her for another few weeks. If she cottons on she'll tell everyone she sees 😂

iloveeggs · 14/02/2023 07:41

@katherine123x great news, I was thinking of buying another digital weeks test to check myself too. The pains are scaring me 🙄
