I thought I'd make this for anyone receiving their BFPs in the next few weeks!

Currently exactly 4 weeks. Still super early, especially after an early MC last time, but fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time!

But it's possible up to 7 weeks. However mostly happens weeks 5 & 6 . Xx

countrypunk · 06/02/2023 12:44

Thanks @mummytoemilia

I thought when I finally got a BFP I'd be high as a kite until the first scan but really it's just the start of a whole new set of worries! Think I need to find some sort of pregnancy meditation...

mummytoemilia · 06/02/2023 12:46

@countrypunk yes pregnancy is just one big worry to be honest! I think the first trimester is the worst for worrying. Then as birth comes closer it's all other worry's... then when the baby is born it's all new worries... it's completely normal to feel this way xx

countrypunk · 06/02/2023 12:50

@mummytoemilia Thank you x

Hi everyone! Just seen some stuff about Facebook groups. I'm happy to set up a group on FB if people wanted. We did this from a Mumsnet thread when I was pregnant last time and it's still a lovely group, still going strong! We ended up having a WhatsApp for those that wanted it and lots of us got really close and have met up with babies etc.

Some choose to be non-posters, some post every now and then for advice, others post more frequently and some want to be involved in WhatsApps etc. so it's nice that everyone can get as involved - or as uninvolved - as they like with no judgement.

You can make these totally private (can't see members if not in the group etc) and we named it something non-pregnancy related last time to calm people's fears of others' notification spotting habits!

Anyway, understand if not and won't be offended, but let me know as thought I'd just put it out there in case it would help people feel less anxious 😁.

The group I had for my first pregnancy has the same, we moved to Facebook and then have had a what's app group. We are really close now and quite often have meet ups with the little ones!

Hi all, not sure if I am joining you here or not. I did a early detect test last Friday at 12dpo cycle day 27, but didn't use first urine, it was clear but after 2hrs it had a faint line. Did another this morning with first urine, 15dpo, after 3 mins it wasn't fully clear but no line, after 8 mins there was a faint line, after 20mins it was very blue. What do you all think. TIA

Weird thing about hidden, private groups is that the links expire after a certain length of time/number of people - so here's the fresh one!

Thanks for setting this up 😊. I'm still in the Facebook group from my first baby and we also have a WhatsApp group and do secret Santa presents. Really great to connect with people due at the same time ☺️

Duv · 06/02/2023 14:24

Does anyone know what happens if you go to your dating scan and it's earlier than expected and too early to do all the screenings? Do they book you in for a follow up scan or just go tough, you don't get all the screenings?

I know I ovulated late and have a shorter luteal phase so I'm worried doctors will book me in too early using the date of last period calculation.

mummytoemilia · 06/02/2023 14:28

They will reschedule for a more accurate scan of baby if too small at original dating scan for checks they need.
I'm sure if you know your exact ovulation though you could call your hospital and re schedule so you don't have to go back and fourth. I would see it as an extra reassurance scan of baby though and keep it personally! Xx

mummytoemilia · 06/02/2023 14:29

Also depends how early as some scans have been fine to do at 11 weeks. So doesn't have to be 12 weeks exactly x

Spacegirl22 · 06/02/2023 14:36

Hello,

Congratulations on everyones fantastic news Got my positive a few days ago but have just been slightly lurking around slightly afraid that I was going to burst the bubble!!! My daughter is going to be 19 months when our baby is due and we are all very very excited. Not having too many symptoms yet. In my first pregnancy I had loads so I'm hoping it's not as bad this time round.

How can I can join the Facebook group as I find that lot easier then the thread- not sure how to join it at the moment as there doesn't appear to be a join button when you click the link! Maybe I'm doing this all wrong or I just have baby brain!

redavocado · 06/02/2023 15:36

Just been send the time for my booking in appointment. Middle of the day on a Thursday! I'll be about 9 weeks. Is anyone planning to tell work that early? I don't really see an easy way around it.

Isitthathardtobekind · 06/02/2023 11:04

@bobb11 just saw your next post about waking in a panic! Can also totally relate! Had a really bad night Saturday night- waking up frequently in complete panic but in the day I can be much more sensible - if I start to worry I can see the positives and think all ok, but at night it’s like I have a completely different mind! Again - no advice sadly but interested if anyone has any!

@Isitthathardtobekind I'm just glad someone else is feeling the same 😅 it's so horrible, I do manage to go back to sleep afterwards but the feeling of doom is horrendous, going through so many irrational 'what ifs' that have no chance of being solved at 3am 🙈🥴

@bobb11 Congratulations! It’s such an anxious time isn’t it. Last time I was pregnant I think I tried to take some time out of the day to just ‘be’ and try to empty my mind. Things like a relaxing bath or watching something escapist on Netflix. Also just taking the pregnancy week by week at first and trying not to think too far ahead

@sofisofia7 thank you so much for your reply! Yes, just trying to take things day by day really and not let myself get too overwhelmed - first time mum, but my sister has three kids so I've had a lot of insight into the difficulties without any actual first hand experience, and the enormity of the task is weighing heavily on me 🥴

I'm getting a dating scan on nhs at around 7 weeks (my guess!). I didn't have a period before I fell pregnant (breastfeeding my 11mo) and wasn't tracking ovulation so am estimating my due date based on gut feeling and line progression at the moment. If you're unsure of dates worth asking.

With my first I was a week out as I ovulated later than expected, they just shifted appointments back. This was under the private system so I was seen every 3 weeks, then once a week at the end

Mine is Wednesday 8th March.

I've told my boss but that's purely for health and safety reasons

@bananaandblueberry have you 'agreed to the rules'? Sounds more serious than it is, but the admin auto-assist will decline if not.

Yes I had this, getting better now. Only one night was really bad where I woke up feeling massive anxiety.

bananaandblueberry · 06/02/2023 16:31

My anxiety is through the roof!

Would anyone be concerned about an uncomfortable pulling feeling in the left side of my groin?

Chanteuse · 06/02/2023 16:41

After my spotting yesterday I think I may have overreacted 😬 I actually think I have just had a bit of beige/brown discharge as all seems quite normal today. Fingers crossed it stays that way! 🤞🏼 pregnancy is terrible for anxiety!

Pregnancychatter · 06/02/2023 16:59

I'm also freezing all the time (more than normal 😂)
