@CityKity aw sorry you had that happen. I’ve generally got low blood pressure too and have noticed pretty much every time I stand up I’ve had to stop and put my head down for a second to stop myself going dizzy. I’m on iron tablets now too so wondered if low iron maybe contributed to it. I think you are very susceptible to suddenly feeling overly warm too when you’re pregnant. I’ve noticed it in the car if my husband’s had the heating on too much and I ask him to put it off but within seconds need to put the window down or I feel like I can’t breathe. It’s probably just a combination of everything and a sign you need some rest! I would tell your partner just in case it was to happen at home, even when getting out the shower or bath.. that’s when I used to get it the worst

BCxx · 15/02/2023 20:40

@LS888 ive totally thought I’ve felt movement quite a few times so far! I kind of think it must be impossible so early but then when you see the scans and see how much they move it’s actually weird that you can’t feel it so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did really like the kicks last time, especially when it was like you could basically see the outline of a foot or whatever. I felt his toes with my hand a few times and actually feel emotional even at the thought of that again 😂

LS888 · 15/02/2023 20:46

@BCxx I’m not sure how I will feel about the movement yet. It just sort of felt like butterflies in my stomach. But then nothing since. And I have been quite bloated and windy 🙈 My friend told me about seeing hands and feet sweeping across her belly! 😂 it freaks my husband out but hopefully he will be ok with it being our baby! I’m looking forward to feeling it for some reassurance!

BCxx · 15/02/2023 21:02

@LS888 I really really wasn’t looking forward to it last time and it always freaked me out if it was anyone else’s but I really loved it. Especially as the due date got closer and he’d do things like go mad every time I was in the car if my husband was driving (he could obviously feel he was a way faster driver than me) 🙈 I’d heard people say how uncomfortable or sore it was too and maybe I was just lucky but it didn’t ever hurt. I didn’t ever have the problem of his head being low down either, I think that’s meant to be quite uncomfortable but I really didn’t have any pain at all and always imagined it was going to be so awful 😂

AnnieApple123 · 15/02/2023 21:16

@BCxx The season change is annoying. I obviously don’t want to be buying winter stuff at this point so am going to have to make do for the next couple of weeks. Honestly though, last time I don’t think I wore anything maternity until around 28 weeks so I wasn’t very prepared for this!

UsernameNotPresent · 15/02/2023 21:16

I loved feeling baby movement first time around, DS loved to stick his leg out the side, so every now and again I would feel little foot protruding from the side of my bump 😂 Can't wait to get proper movements this time around.

I am already firmly in maternity wear now. I hate having anything tight lower bump/under bump, so I am welcoming comfort in maternity trousers, leggings, and dresses.

BCxx · 15/02/2023 21:56

@AnnieApple123 no I think that must have been the same with me! I have a picture at 23 weeks in a pair of gym leggings that I still have and have had to stop wearing them as it literally feels like they’re cutting off my circulation. I think I just bought the summery stuff and didn’t need anything at this point 🙈

Rowanandremy · 15/02/2023 22:03

Hi all, I’ve not been on here for a long while - I’ve missed so many threads!

I was really struggling with the morning sickness and had to ask my doctor for anti sickness medicine, I have a tricky allergy that complicated things but found something that sort of worked but gave me headaches and knocked me out for on average 13 hours. Then I got ill, not sure if it was covid but my wife nearly called an ambulance a few times because I couldn’t eat anything and could barely keep water down - luckily didn’t need the hospital but it was a bit dicey for a bit and took me ages to be back on my feet feeling ‘normal’.

Since I last posted we’ve had the 12 week scan where baby was a bit stubborn and kept its back to us so it took a while to get all the measurements but everything was great. due date is now 6th of August. Also got the results back for Downs, Edwards and Pataus quite quickly which was a relief (we hate the wait!) and all is good. 1 in 5444 for DS and 1 in 100000 for Edwards and Pataus which is the same as last time.

We also had a gender scan and we’re having a boy! Everyone other than my mum thought girl, I wasn’t sure, though I will say that everyone is ecstatic for us which is lovely 😊 we know his name and middle names, we’ve had them picked for ages like we had for the girl.

I’m struggling a bit with weight,I wasn’t exactly a great weight before getting pregnant, and food aversions saw me lose some but I’ve crept up again. Despite only managing two meals a day (took me ages to get back into eating ‘properly’ after I was ill) and no snacks. Also had to give up milk as it made me very sick which meant I lost my decaf tea and my one coffee a day. I’m a bit worried I will just keep putting it on and the only thing we can think of as a cause is I’m eating too many carbs which isn’t easy to cut out as they are predominately the only things that settle my stomach - though my sickness has eased off considerably so hopefully I’ll be able to have a better diet soon.

Its definitely been a different pregnancy and I’m honestly happy now that we decided this is our last 😂 even though I’ve got a bit weepy about it.

sorry for the long post! Hope everyone is doing well

Recoba · 15/02/2023 22:41

@Rowanandremy nice to see you back, sorry you've been having a terrible time of it - that sounds really difficult. Hope the upward trajectory continues.

@AnnieApple123 H&M have a sale on some maternity wear, I found their maternity jeans super comfortable (now wearing the ones I got for my first pregnancy), and for £16 on sale, hard to go wrong.

Rowanandremy · 15/02/2023 22:52

@BCxx @LS888 I haven’t felt any movements with this one yet but before DD started moving I was seriously freaked out at the thought of it. I was definitely one of those that was pregnant for the baby at the end, not one who expected to enjoy or even like pregnancy all that much. I ended up being quietly fascinated but the worst DD did was stick her bum under my ribs and refuse to move so I had to walk like I was tilted and I had to sit to the opposite side of her bum 😂
I only felt her head engage because my wife convinced me to try sitting on a birthing ball, sat on it for 2 seconds and felt her head engage and that was it then. I was off the ball like a shot and didn’t touch it again 😂

@Recoba thank you for the welcome
back, I’ve missed being on here but having the wherewithal to be online just wasn’t there. I think I’m one of the lucky ones that the sickness has mostly gone, I was worried for a bit that I’d have it all through the pregnancy. Hats off and sympathy to anyone still suffering.

CityKity · 15/02/2023 23:03

I’ve been searching Pinterest for pregnancy outfit inspiration as it’s my first and am starting to think about what on earth I’ll be able to wear as time goes on. I’m still in normal clothes at this minute but by midday the top button is undone and I can’t wait to get home to change!
I’m not a huge fan of dresses so will have to find some good maternity jeans at some point that will work for spring into early summer.

@BCxx you’re so right it’s the warmth that really comes on quickly and is exactly what led me to faint on the train. Definitely need to keep an eye. This morning I wore a lighter coat/jumper and had some iced water with me and I felt so much better on my journey

@Rowanandremy welcome back! I’m so sorry you’ve been having such a hard time of it so far. Fingers crossed you keep feeling better and better everyday! Congratulations on baby boy, so exciting!!

Rowanandremy · 15/02/2023 23:52

@CityKity thank you for the welcome back! I’m starting to feel more human which is nice 😂 thank you again, we’re very excited to meet him though now we know he’s a boy we know we’ll have to move from this house but we’ve a few years yet before we need to worry about moving.
Good luck with looking on Pinterest for outfit inspiration, I honestly wouldn’t have thought to look there.

Is anyone else dreading being heavily pregnant over summer? With DD I mostly had a winter and spring pregnancy so it didn’t get too warm but this one is going to be throughout summer. I think I might have to live in dresses if it’s another warm one 😂

jjeanii · 16/02/2023 00:19

@Rowanandremy congratulations on a boy ! I'm having a girl I just had to find out too

AnnieApple123 · 16/02/2023 08:00

Welcome back @Rowanandremy . Sorry to hear you’ve been having such a rough time.

@CityKity I could definitely do with some Pinterest inspiration even though this isn’t my first!

OP posts:
Rowanandremy · 16/02/2023 08:52

@jjeanii thank you! Congratulations on your girl, by the time we had the scan finding out we were so impatient to know 😂

@AnnieApple123 thank you for the welcome back, I’m glad to be back and feeling more human! If anything being so poorly this time has really cemented that this is our last, my wife only wanted 2 but I always wanted 3 but honestly with each pregnancy I’ve had I’ve been increasingly more ill so I’m happy with my 2 😂

marleyandme · 16/02/2023 10:53

Congratulations with everyone on their scans and gender scans! Keep the pictures coming they're too cute 😍
I've been living in maternity jeans since week 10, now week 15 but only just maybe have started to show a little, still not sure whether it's maybe just bloat!

I bought a big bundle of maternity clothes on vinted so I'd really recommend there as you can get a lot for a bargain price and it's barely worn. Never used it until this but I'm a convert now!

Marmaladebear · 16/02/2023 11:19

@Rowanandremy welcome back! Glad you're feeling better, that sounds so hard!

@marleyandme would never have thought of that! What a good idea. I bought some more maternity clothes a few weeks ago because nothing fit and all my maternity clothes from last time are very summery/made me feel a bit frumpy.

AnnieApple123 · 16/02/2023 12:00

I know what you mean @Rowanandremy . I’m open to the idea of a third but definitely would be keener if this pregnancy was turning out to be as much of a breeze as my last.

My mum is taking DS out to the park for a couple of hours this afternoon which I really am enormously grateful for. Our house is currently a pigsty (an expression which DS finds hilarious) but I’m letting it go as my back is much better today and I don’t want to risk making it worse again.

ChloeN · 16/02/2023 12:57

Got my results back for Anti D, the baby has positive blood so must be like my partner, bet the babies going to look like him now 🤣

Rowanandremy · 16/02/2023 13:25

@Marmaladebear thank you for the welcome back! I’m not going to lie at times I felt quite miserable, I just kept hoping it would get better and I’m really lucky that it did.

@marleyandme Ive been really curious about vinted for a while now, mostly to sell some of the clothes we don’t wear anymore, but I was a bit put off by some
negative reviews - will definitely check it out now though, thanks for the recommendation.

@AnnieApple123 oh definitely, I think dw would be picturing years more of nappies if this pregnancy had been like my first. Not that the first trimester with dd was easy by any means but this one has been worse in many ways 😂 I’m a bit sad we won’t have another but at the same time I’m content with the idea of 2 and all I need to do if I waver is remember the last 13 weeks 😂

P1pk · 16/02/2023 18:33

I've brought maternity leggings and lived in then since I was 10weeks, now I'm 13+5. I think before it was the bloat and now I see the shape of my tummy popping out at the bottom.

For maternity wear, New look has nice jeans. Also ebay? Can pick up bargains on there.

I'm not buying a lot of maternity wear until I'm actually going somewhere. I'm usually wfh and for the 1 day a week I go into the office I am wearing jumpers still, as I've not told my manager yet.

Anyone feeling like its so long between appts?? I am feeling a bit better this week but need to remind myself I'm pregnant when I have no symptoms!! I cannot wait to feel the baby but like others have said I'm sure I will find something to worry about then too!

allgoodthings84 · 16/02/2023 18:36

@P1pk I constantly keep forgetting I’m pregnant for a little bit! I’m only 12+5 weeks with anterior placenta so will be awhile until I feel anything even though it’s my second and I only have a tiny bump which can be felt but not really seen when dressed. My nausea is calming down and no longer constant thankfully.

BCxx · 16/02/2023 20:36

@ChloeN aw no 🤣 I was the same the last time and guarantee this one will be the same but we can’t find out here until they’re born and need the jag regardless because Scotland are living in the dark ages 🙈

@Rowanandremy congratulations on a boy! 🎉 how lovely

@AnnieApple123 im very on the fence about a third too and feel like if it goes as straight forward as my son’s csection etc went then I probably will have another but that will be the decider. I would definitely leave it a while though and see if we wanted a third, probably a good 3 years this time! It’s weird not knowing if it’s the last though but I don’t really feel like I want to be done with the whole pregnancy/new baby world but at the same time don’t want to end up with a house full of screaming kids years down the line and wonder why I had so many 🤣

BCxx · 16/02/2023 20:44

I really do feel like I’m just sort of floating through this pregnancy now (a far cry from the miserable existence of weeks 8/9/10) but I’m almost forgetting I’m pregnant most of the time. Literally the only time I remember is when my son goes to climb on me! I haven’t missed drinking in the slightest either weirdly 🤔 I don’t know if I’ve just put a bit of a mental block on it until we find out the gender (that it’s definitely a girl) in 2 weeks and then I’ll let myself start to buy things but I almost feel like it’s not real just now and I feel bad for feeling like that 🙈

sally16 · 16/02/2023 21:18

@BCxx I can't wait to have the gender so I can start buying! I'm gonna wait untill the 20 weeks nhs one to have it confirmed though as I'm so sceptical of early gender ones unless they say boy 😂
