@jjeanii amazing! Congratulations 💗 what are you going to do now about buying any clothes etc? Are you just going to have to hide them if they’re obviously girly? 🙈

jjeanii · 13/02/2023 21:03

Thanks all , I will try to only get some girls stuff because it is 16 weeks as early as possible to tell so maybe they were mistaken. My partner had said he didn't want to know but he's managed to get it out of me , the thing is that I had chosen Heidi for a name for over a month now and my heart set on it and he liked it too , but he mentioned after I told him tonight that were going to have a daughter and he starts going on about a Heidi he knew who he had been intimate with, I ended the discussion and let him know he's ruined the name now for me , he proceeded to go on about how stunningly beautiful she is and how too good for him she was . I am feeling disgusted and I know he'll try to make out I'm being jealous and unreasonable by being upset.

ChloeN · 13/02/2023 21:09

@jjeanii what on earth!! Why would he not say no to Heidi when it was first mentioned rather than let you get your heart set on it! You’re not jealous at all that is just such a weird way to approach it, he could of just said he use to see someone with that name so he didn’t want to use it! Hope you’re okay xx

P1pk · 13/02/2023 21:52

@LS888 so glad it wasn't just me feeling that way today! Although I am feeling tired from going to work today so been on the sofa since 8!

BCxx · 13/02/2023 22:46

@jjeanii oh no 🤦🏼‍♀️ There is nothing worse than a name being ruined when you love it, especially if he’s been like that about it!

BMK · 13/02/2023 23:07

@jjeanii - how frustrating!talk about taking the good out of the entire day/experience. However this is exactly like sth my other half would do ie create sth and then attribute it to me. Your OH is an idiot for going on like that, albeit to be honest he was probably just randomly thinking/talking out loud without any intent or forethought/any thinkingat all obviously!! Hmm it might though have ruined the name, but if you like it enough stick with it. He might have started to say how beautiful she was to get you to like the name again..? (but no,too much detail /thinking there for a man maybe!)
@AnnieApple123 I have lower back pain from exercise in the form of moving boxes today so anything new I think can cause it particularly if you're prone to it (I am a bit). But I say good on you for actually starting!! For me I need a teacher physically with me as with videos it's hard to know if you're doing it right, albeit there is no decent yoga teacher anywhere near me so I would take a decent video if I had the willpower to start them!
@Paintandpots any better in 24 hrs?(*unlikely I suppose but at 13 wks I'm being optimistic for you!)@BCxx did the actually use the term high level or whatever it was as in to tell you your cells were definitely abnormal or what is that supposed to be translated as?

UsernameNotPresent · 14/02/2023 02:34

Ugh, insomnia strikes again. I hate it. Life is busy right now, and I need sleep! I am really starting to feel the strain. Not going to be winning any mother of the year awards lately, so adding mum guilt to the list too. Ugh.

@AnnieApple123 I had SPD last time, and labour has wrecked my pelvis to finish it off even though my son eventually 'came out the sunroof'. I am quite small and have hyperflexible joints, and DS was a chunky monkey, so on his 'way down the shoot' he misaligned few of my joints 🫠 The only thing that helped was physio, and it got pretty much almost back to normal. Those exercises look like a good shout if you are starting to get back pain. I am getting few niggles at night when sleeping on the side, and keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get too bad this time around. Should really be doing exercises but realistically it ain't gonna happen in next 4 weeks.

AnnieApple123 · 14/02/2023 10:03

I’ve women up this morning much worse and am struggling even to stand up straight. Thankfully I’ve managed to get an appointment this afternoon with an osteopath who specialises in pregnancy. Fingers crossed it’s just a minor injury (it started whilst c

coming downstairs) related to the peak in relaxin around now and not actual SPD.

AnnieApple123 · 14/02/2023 10:09

@BMK Thank you, that sounds reassuring. I actually had something like this once before, quite a few years ago now. It eased after about 10 days and was completely gone in six weeks, which sounds like a long time but is a vast improvement on the remaining six months of pregnancy which I gather would be the case for SPD.

@UsernameNotPresent That sounds hideous. So glad physio was able to help in the end. I think you’re sensible in writing off exercise for the next four weeks if you have a move coming up. The move will surely keep you active anyway and we’re still fairly early on.

@MinnieFirstTimeMum SPD is pelvic pain in pregnancy which lasts throughout.

Wow so much to catch up on again 😅
Glad everyone pregnancy's are going well 🥰

@AnnieApple123 my SPD is kicked into full effect again now :( I've found a private physio as the nhs are only offering group zoom calls and it's not appropriate in my opinion :( private have said to look into pregnancy yoga and Pilates as they are extremely close to the exercises they would give anyway! And cheaper than the PT 🤣

DesertSnow · 14/02/2023 11:14

Sorry for those of you suffering with SPD/suspected SPD, it sounds really rough.

Re. exercise, I'm not doing pregnancy specific workouts - I'm continuing to run and just carrying on with my regular DVDs, modifying when it makes sense (and skipping any ab-based exercises).

I have my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow, hoping they'll be able to reassure me about some of my anxieties. But as someone else on here said, as soon as you stop worrying about one thing it just seems to get transferred to the next!

AnnieApple123 · 14/02/2023 11:32

Sorry to hear you’re suffering too @sally16 . Do you find the physio and exercises help? I was wondering what the NHS would offer but went straight for this specialist appointment privately today as I was able to get it so very quickly. It does cost a small fortune though. Group Zoom calls do sound very limited. I can’t help feeling now that it serves it right being in this position when I’ve done zero exercise so far. So different from my first pregnancy when I really could say I was doing it all (although that still didn’t result in a great birth!).

Hope your appointment goes well @DesertSnow .

@AnnieApple123 I've done a few ones off YouTube as can't find local classss that suit my days off/childcare yet :(
And yeh they seem to stretch my hips just enough to get a decent bit of relief!

BMK · 14/02/2023 11:51

@AnnieApple123 @sally16 @UsernameNotPresent I actually had no idea about SPD and having read about it I'm still not sure if it was this or something else I had in my last pregnancy and have intermittently in this one. Ok so this will sound weird unless anyone has actually experienced it: it feels like there's a weight in your nether regions weighing down, like just inside your vagina/uterus area or around there. I feels sore a bit but really heavy and uncomfortable. I get it if I lift my then 2,now 4 yo or other heavyish things and then it can stay for a day/few days/ week, or ongoing the later into preg it is. It is related to pelvic floor muscles but not sure what it is at all,but feels terrible.
Otherwise I'm just send good vobes to you all as when you feel bad it seems like it will never end,but it DOES! And then everything seems different!

sally16 · 14/02/2023 11:58

@BMK sounds like the start off it so be careful!
It can stay as it is or progress etc.. I didn't get too bad untill about 27 weeks last time I think?
Don't remember being this moany this early anyway haha!

I use a bump band too.. it does really help for shops etc but it's not suitable for work :( I end up too sweaty and uncomfortable. Currently waiting to start my course Wednesday so I can fuck off on the sick of it gets too much again.. just long enough to trigger phased return and not have to work my full hours for a month or so 🤣

jjeanii · 14/02/2023 16:48

That gender scan I had yesterday was longer than the NHS one and it has really left me feeling sore and uncomfortable in the inside, especially the side she was looking for the gender, just wanted to say to anyone else thinking of one to not let it go on too long at one point I felt that was enough and I wish I'd said

CityKity · 14/02/2023 17:31

Sooooo I’d love some advice. I’m not sleeping much at the moment (around 2hrs a night the last 2 nights, and have a pretty full on week in the office this week in which I’m leading a lot of.

All to really say that I fainted on my very crowded and hot train into work this morning 😢. Two absolute stars helped me back up and gave me water and made sure I was okay.
I know it’s silly, but I haven’t done baby any harm have I? I haven’t told DH as he will go spare at me with worry and tell me that I should have come straight home, but to be honest I couldn’t face the train back straight away and just wanted to get carry on with my day. I know I’m being a total idiot but I just had being ill / incapacitated / asking for help and I think I’m struggling a bit with the idea that I’m not my usual energetic self.
Should I contact my midwife or am I okay to just rest up this evening and not be so stubborn and just ask for a seat next time (which is tomorrow)?

CityKity · 14/02/2023 17:33

Just to add to the above I’m 16 weeks today and do tend towards low blood pressure but have only fainted twice in my life before this morning

newmummie · 14/02/2023 18:04

Bit TMI but does anyone have any natural remedies for vaginal thrush and know if it's possible for it to clear up on its own??? Have had it for a week or so - cream doesn't work and never has worked for me - usually took a pill but now that I'm pregnant I can't, doc said my only options is cream and there is no thrush tablet available for pregnant women I'm so stressed - Valentine's Day and sex is out the window 🤣

jjeanii · 14/02/2023 19:13

@CityKity oh dear I hope you do tell your DH and your midwife, how scary that must have been for you. Definitely tell your midwife but I'm sure baby is fine but the thing is you might continue to have fainting spells and you could get hurt . Hope you rest well tonight

AnnieApple123 · 14/02/2023 21:00

Oh @CityKity how horrible and scary for you. Glad there were some helpful people around. I also have a tendency towards low blood pressure and have had lightheadedness on standing up since around 8 weeks (I’m also 16 weeks now). I’ve mentioned it twice at obstetric appointments and been told it is not unusual and just to make sure I drink plenty and get up as slowly, leaning on something for support if necessary. Blood pressure reaches its lowest point at around 20 weeks so unfortunately it is likely to get worse before it gets better. It can be linked to low iron levels but you’ve presumably had those tested by now as part of booking bloods?

AnnieApple123 · 14/02/2023 21:01

@jjeanii Sorry you’re experiencing such discomfort. Was the scan internal?
