@AnnieApple123 it's been subclinical for ages, they just repeat blood tests as they don’t give meds til it’s needed but might change their mind in pregnancy 🤷🏻‍♀️ glad for the extra input though!

@Mulner88 yeah last week I was rehabbing a very heavy assistance of 2, and lugging furniture about 😅I’ve got a couple of extra office days now, and the rehab beds I was in have covid so I’m back out into community with a plea that I’m allocated the light stuff! My line manager said at 6months will likely scale back even more though

buttercupbee · 03/02/2023 08:11

@nadsc hope everything goes ok this morning x

ChloeN · 03/02/2023 08:16

@nadsc hope it all goes well this morning!

My next one is less than a week away now and I can already feel myself getting anxious again

sally16 · 03/02/2023 08:58

Finally got my hand on some of the nhs pregnancy vitamins! 🥳 1/4 of the size of the shop bought ones 😅

unluckyinlife · 03/02/2023 10:27

So yesterday night I went to bed worried by symptoms had eased off a bit. Today I have a nasty headache which I've had off and on for the last week and strange yellow snot like discharge. Sorry for TMI. I'm not sure if this is worth contacting someone for given my high blood pressure reading at my last appointment. Who do you even contact at this stage? Triage doesn't see you until 18 weeks in my trust so is this something I call my GP about? Or will I just be wasting everyone's time 😑x

unluckyinlife · 03/02/2023 10:27

@nadsc good luck for your scan ❤ xx

Amme18 · 03/02/2023 11:00

@unluckyinlife i don’t want to put you off contacting somebody because you definitely should if you’re worried about anything at all!!
but I’ve had the snot like discharge from the start, I did with my last pregnancy too, mine was just from the mucus plug and apparently normal but gross 😅
Im 14 weeks today and had a few awful headaches too over the last week or so but put it down to not drinking enough water and sleeping crap!

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2023 11:14

@unluckyinlife I don’t know the answer to that. You could maybe try calling 111 and see what they suggest?

@Amme18 That’s good it’s being taken seriously and you’re getting regular monitoring. I’ve been on thyroxine since pre-DS so have had 4 weekly blood tests in both pregnancies to monitor the dosage, although there’s not been any significant change so far. Next one Monday.

Has anyone ever had back pain in pregnancy?

I struggle with upper back pain anyway (cause unknown) but I think it's getting worse, and I'm worried it's going to get worse as I get bigger.

Has anyone had a pregnancy massage before, or seen an osteopath/chiropractor or similar during pregnancy?

LS888 · 03/02/2023 12:52

@sprollie11 no advice about the back pain but if anyone has any remedies that would be great. I have been suffering a bit. In the very early weeks I had awful lower back pain. And this week I bent down to pick up some shoes and it has triggered it again. I went for a swim today but still doesn’t feel quite right. My mum said my sister had the same during one of her pregnancies. Think as our ligaments loosen you are more prone to back problems.

BoodifulGoose · 03/02/2023 13:17

@sprollie11 @LS888 I also have cause undiagnose back pain (most likely work/being a bit sedentary) and find yoga, specifically the upper back and lower back 10 minute videos with YogaWithAdrienne very very helpful

BoodifulGoose · 03/02/2023 13:19

14 weeks tomorrow so having a read up, feeling personally attacked by the NHS website as I read it having just finished a slice of cake with a handful of haribos in my hand 😭😂

Sjw30 · 03/02/2023 13:37

@BoodifulGoose oh gosh! Does anyone actually know how much weight is too much? At 12 weeks I had put on 5lbs and was worried this was too much. On one hand I think I’m growing a baby it’s all good but on the other I don’t want to take it too far! Some days at work especially I probably don’t even eat enough but others I cannot be stopped eating.

Narwhal88 · 03/02/2023 13:49

@sprollie11 I'm suffering with back and hip pain in bed. Keep waking up at 4-5am in pain and can't get comfy. I also suffer with back pain from sitting at a desk all day and yoga does help. I looked up prenatal yoga but it wasn't recommended until 12 weeks so might start some soon.

@BoodifulGoose my midwife said the same about healthy snacks and I also felt personally attacked 😂 I haven't weighed myself in over 6 months and I don't intend to. I don't think I'm overeating just not eating the right things as healthy things make me want to vomit.

jjeanii · 03/02/2023 13:49

AnnieApple123 · 02/02/2023 22:43

@Nic2908 Oh don’t worry, nothing dramatic happened. I’ve just been a bit of a basket case with anxiety so took a break from here for a few days.

@Amme18 That’s interesting as I have hypOthyroidism. The implications for pregnancy are different though and it’s the first two trimesters that are most key for me before the baby’s own thyroid has developed.

Hi I also have hypothyroidism, do you notice any symptoms are worse because of the condition? Also did they put your medication up ? I got mine out from 75 a day to 125 a day

SnowL2021 · 03/02/2023 14:01

@sally16 Possibly a stupid question, but what are the NHS pregnancy vitamins (as in, are they prescribed ones? Do they have ‘NHS’ on the packaging?) and how do you get hold of them? Desperately searching for small pregnancy vitamins!!

good luck to anyone with a scan today x

Marmaladebear · 03/02/2023 14:06

@BoodifulGoose I'm definitely not eating healthily 😂 I've been so sick the fact I'm just trying to eat whatever I can to survive which is mainly chips, ham sandwiches and crisps. Tried to eat peas the other night (with my chips 😂) in an attempt to eat a veg and was nearly sick. Hopefully will feel better soon, then I'll think about eating veg again!

sally16 · 03/02/2023 14:11

@SnowL2021 I got them last time from my midwife! I'll attach a pic of the bottle and the tablet compared to a rennie haha!

SnowL2021 · 03/02/2023 15:05

@sally16 Amazing, thanks! I have a 16-week appointment in a week and a half so will ask my midwife about them then! Terrible at swallowing tablets

Mulner88 · 03/02/2023 15:23

@SnowL2021 I take the liquid version of pregnacare or the gummies as I'm terrible with swallowing tablets too!

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2023 16:27

@jjeanii To my surprise my dosage hasn’t actually increased so far. By this point in my last pregnancy it had doubled. My TSH was relatively low going into pregnancy this time though (0.77 in September) so I suspect this may be why. At my last test it had risen to 1.21. I’ll be interested to see what it is at the next one on Monday. I had virtually no symptoms the entire last month in my last pregnancy. This time hasn’t been quite so good. 14 weeks and I’m still terry tired. How about you?

I don't know how to reply without quoting, yes it's very tiring for me I'm drained and breathless while even going upstairs I'm dreading the hot months , constipation is bad too

AnnieApple123 · 03/02/2023 17:18

@jjeanii Sounds like those are just pregnancy symptoms? If you’re on the correct dosage of thyroxine, you surely shouldn’t be getting symptoms of hypothyroidism? I get breathless sometimes too though. I have an obstetrics review next week after my next bloods so will ask…
