That’s it, I’m ordering a pregnancy pillow on Amazon tonight. Genuinely think it was my favourite thing about being pregnant last time. It’s only when you adjust to sleeping without it again that you forget the level of comfort that comes from sleeping in one 😂 Bio oil and pregnancy pillow tomorrow (at 11 weeks) here I come!

UsernameNotPresent · 29/01/2023 21:30

@Createcomet sending strength. My symptoms got worse around 11-12 weeks, to the point I started vomiting again and exhaustion was unreal, it was a case of just cobbling it through the day somehow. Now at 13 weeks I feel tonnes better, almost like a human! It will get better, you are almost there.

ChloeN · 29/01/2023 21:47

@somuchtolearnabout long sausage pillow lol🤣

Nic2908 · 29/01/2023 21:47

@somuchtolearnabout 15.40!! Good luck for tomorrow!!

ChloeN · 29/01/2023 21:49

Also hate to be super soppy but does anyone else randomly feel soo emotional being pregnant? I still genuinely can’t believe it I never thought I’d be lucky enough to experience it! I look at my little bump bloat and it just makes me want to cry🥹

AnnieApple123 · 29/01/2023 21:56

@ChloeN Yes I sent an email to my aunt today to tell her. I couldn’t stop crying as I was typing it.

@AnnieApple123 I never used to be a crier but I’m terrible lately, I just feel so grateful I think I just have to have a little cry🤣

sally16 · 29/01/2023 22:10

@somuchtolearnabout sausage pillow 😆🤣
@UsernameNotPresent well DS has just come through for an attempt at sleeping with me and we are both in the pillow switching dory's reef cam to relax back tk sleep 😂

PumpkinEverything · 29/01/2023 22:12

@UsernameNotPresent similar problems here 😂 although sometimes my daughter can basically be in with us from the moment we go to bed. I’m struggling with also feeling guilty about not being able to let her lie on me for much longer (normally how it starts off before she rolls over beside me). I really want my pregnancy pillow though! I needed it last time and I’ve still got a sore pain in one of my hips/bum from last time and I’m worried it’s going to get worse.

@ChloeN i feel the same! I don’t know why, but I feel so incredibly lucky to be pregnant. More so than the first time round! I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been through it before and know what to expect, and can imagine holding the baby for the first time, but I just get random bursts of excitement!

Sjw30 · 29/01/2023 22:30

@ChloeN yes same! I still can’t believe it some days, it makes me feel so emotional. we feel like we’ve been living in a dream all this time xx

BCxx · 29/01/2023 23:15

For some reason, even though I’ve literally seen that you get a baby at the end of it from last time @PumpkinEverything I still can’t imagine it this time again! I think it’s because he’s a toddler now and just seems like he’s always been here. Probably the fact I love him so much as well and it’s hard to even allow yourself to contemplate there being more than one of them!

It’s genuinely magic how our body can grow a person.. like what? You just can’t let yourself think about it fully.. an actual person!?! I’m processing it all in chunks though so feel like I’ve got the 12 week scan, then 20 week scan then I might actually believe it’s happening🙈 I feel so lucky every day that nothing bad has happened but still don’t really have it in my head that I’m lucky because I’ve got a new little person in there

BMK · 30/01/2023 00:16

@Createcomet hope this doesn't wake you but I really hope you get a miraculous reprieve for tomorrow, but if not- exactly as BC says: you're growing a person and your body is limiting your actions so you just have to give in and realise you can't do everything and that is what sick days are for!
I am actually 13+2 today (Monday) but no 12wk scan as couldn't make the Fri appt with work and seems v difficult to get another so will likely be doing a private one end of this week or early next but good luck to the 2 ladies who are in tm and seriously feeling the bloat today. Yesterday I felt great but today the bloat belly is back!

PumpkinEverything · 30/01/2023 00:20

@BCxx oh I am totally still in denial about it! I think I’m just excited to buy some cute tiny sleepsuits 😂😂 I’m living in increments too. We have a gender scan on the 18th feb when I’m 16+2, and I’ve got my 20 week scan through as well. So each of those is a step, and then I feel like we might do a 4D scan again as we did that with our daughter. So it’ll be at around 28-30 weeks if we do!

somuchtolearnabout · 30/01/2023 07:03

Good luck to you too @Nic2908 !

@BCxx I feel exactly the same. Like - I am generally pretty pragmatic about pregnancy. I don’t have a tendency to catastrophise and from when I find out I’m pregnant I pretty much assume I’ll be having a baby - but I honestly cannot imagine it this time. It’s not that I feel detached from it, I don’t, I just haven’t really thought about actually bringing a baby home, it doesn’t feel
real yet.

Me & my best friend were discussing this on Friday at lunch. I sometimes look at my children and say to my husband “you know I made those eyeballs” 😂😂 or I just look at their little noses, or their hands and feet and think “I actually CREATED those”. And it makes me realise why I’m so shattered all the time, it’s so easy to forget what we are actually doing but ladies we are GROWING HUMANS. We are creating organs, and limbs, hands and feet and eyeballs. Us alone, we are doing that. It’s wild.

Although my husband often says “well I helped” and that’s when I knock him out 🙃

marleyandme · 30/01/2023 07:28

@Nic2908 @somuchtolearnabout we're scan buddies! Mine is today at 12.40 🤞
Good luck to you both!

LS888 · 30/01/2023 08:50

@marleyandme @Nic2908 @somuchtolearnabout hope your scans go well today! x

CityKity · 30/01/2023 08:53

Big scan crew today! Good luck with them all 🤞

buttercupbee · 30/01/2023 09:02

Good luck for everyone having scans today 🤞🏼

@ChloeN I randomly get emotional too, I think I’m still in disbelief that this is actually happening. It feels like other people have babies not us 🙈

LBF2020 · 30/01/2023 09:03

Good luck to everyone having their scans today 😊

Nic2908 · 30/01/2023 09:03

@marleyandme good luck!! Can’t wait to catch up later.

I too feel much less naive this pregnancy, no reason as to why at all but I feel very blessed.

nadsc · 30/01/2023 09:55

Good luck with your scans today everyone!

Createcomet · 30/01/2023 11:32

Argh! I dragged myself to work today feeling like absolute s**t. Dropped 2 Yr old off at in laws. And have just been at work crying on and off because I'm overwhelmed and trying to answer loads of questions, deal with legal documents and meet deadlines. So stressed!

And then my colleague has the audacity to say that "feeling like crap is part and parcel of being pregnant"

Why do we live in a society where its like "yeah you're pregnant, but we're going to expect you to still do everything else as if you're not"?! 😭 "and if you can't do everything, congratulations, you've failed as a woman!"

Just.....ARGH!

BCxx · 30/01/2023 11:54

@Createcomet sorry you’re having a rubbish day 😩 sounds awful! That comment wasn’t helpful at all either. As you say, yes that is how pregnancy makes you feel so why are people not given much more flexibility when pregnant? I find it mind blowing that you can be expected to do the same as everyone else while potentially feeling sick, dizzy, floored with exhaustion, cramps etc. I guarantee in 50 years time maternity leave will start the second you’re pregnant and you’ll get 2 years off or something 😂

unluckyinlife · 30/01/2023 11:55

@Createcomet I 100 percent understand how you feel. Got the oldest to school this morning and a family member has my daughter for a playmate. I had to drag myself out of bed this morning dreading the day!

One of my co-directors knows and has piled a loads of 'urgent' stuff to do on me using the fact things need to be sorted before August as the excuse. The other co-director doesn't know yet as he will 100 percent try and use the pregnancy as a reason to suggest I won't and can't do my bit! One day at a time! Xx

unluckyinlife · 30/01/2023 11:58

Also maybe TMi but NONE of my bras fit! Even the ones I brought 3 sizes bigger to accommodate the changes that come with pregnancy. I'm not even out of the 1st trimester yet! Anyone have any suggestions for bras to get? Do they do maternity bras with stretch? I've never had this issue so early before! Its really stressing me out as I can't afford to be replacing them every 4 weeks 😪 x
