Thanks @AnnieApple123 for the new thread and being on top of people's due dates, it's really exciting to see.

Interesting to read about peoples experiences of inductions. I haven't really thought too much about that end of things yet, just taking each day as it comes. I know I'll have to think about it at some point!

I'm 14 weeks today and still suffering with sickness, plus fatigue seems worse than ever. Have read that if it doesn't calm down at 12 weeks, it may well do by 16 weeks, so hoping that's true. Definitely have a bump, but don't look indisputably pregnant.

Great to hear positive news from the scans. Exciting that some of you getting private gender scans might be finding out what you're having soon!

To be honest I've only mentioned birth because my midwife has started referring me to birth choices etc and I'm being sent all the info. It's definitely early to be dealing with it!

Createcomet · 28/01/2023 12:59

@Alpacabag22 I'm really sorry to hear that you've had problems with your results. I can imagine you're worried, but they will definitely keep an eye on you and help you through this. I'll keep everything crossed for you.

Createcomet · 28/01/2023 13:00

I feel like I might be one of the last here to have not had a single scan yet. Terrified 😭

PumpkinEverything · 28/01/2023 13:22

@froglou one of my friends had a private scan where it was confirmed something was wrong and she was sent to EPU, so I do think they should refer!

@Alpacabag22 sorry to hear the worry you’re having 😔 I hope the results come back sooner to shorten the wait for you. I love what @AnnieApple123 had said that there’s a 20/21 chance that everything is okay. I would try hard to focus on that if you can ❤️

BMK · 28/01/2023 14:49

@Alpacabag22 please fear not. I do believe our babies actually find us and are the perfect ones for us. Your one will be perfect as they are so don't let this frighten you. However it takes strength, or makes strength, to take on something extra. All will be fine though, either way!!

sally16 · 28/01/2023 15:04

@Alpacabag22 I also agree with the still 20/21 change of not having!
I wouldn't over think it if you can, my friend was told similar odds, had all the tests that would come back inconclusive and her daughter has no signs of DS xx

BCxx · 28/01/2023 15:27

I’m going round in circles about booking a holiday, wish we’d went at the end of last year and I wouldn’t feel like I’m missing out. I go from ‘I’m too scared to go abroad pregnant’ to ‘maybe I should book it for next week’ 🙈 we can’t even afford it but I’m thinking since we’re realistically not going another holiday until 2024 we should maybe go now. Then thinking I probably would just waste it by worrying anyway. I look at prices for going a few weekends in the UK instead and it’s so expensive! I don’t think I fully switch off the same unless I’m on a sun lounger abroad 😂

sally16 · 28/01/2023 15:55

@BCxx were doing a haven weekend for £150! So gonna book a couple of them! I was working out my mat leave today.. if I take 2 weeks parental leave then 4 weeks annual leave I can break off in mid June 😂🥳
So a few caravan weekends would be ace especially at our family down cornwall too for a free hol haah! We did Tunisia when I was pregnant with DS and they went above and beyond to make me happy the whole week! I miss them haha

Mulner88 · 28/01/2023 16:44

@BCxx go for it! I defo want to get away for R&R before the madness starts (this is our first child). We've booked 5 nights in Croatia end of March and I'll be around 23 weeks!

somuchtolearnabout · 28/01/2023 17:33

Sorry to hear your news @Alpacabag22 We had the same happen with DS2 and the wait for the NIPT results was the worst week of my life. Nothing anyone can say will make you feel better, you just need to try to remind yourself that it’s still 20/21 chance that your baby is absolutely fine and healthy. Will be thinking of you over the next week and hope everything is ok

Alpacabag22 · 28/01/2023 17:33

Thanks for your kind messages everyone, really means a lot ❤

BCxx · 28/01/2023 17:48

@sally16 aw I forgot about there, we were actually talking about how cheap it is, especially mid week! That’s great.. I think being heavily pregnant in the summer too makes working so much harder. I’m taking early mat leave at 29 weeks (and quitting my job after) so I’m going to wait til the 12 week scan so I have a definite date of when I’ll finish then we’ll maybe book some things. There’s a place about an hour from us that has a really nice outdoor pool and spa and is dog friendly so thinking we might go there from the first day of my mat leave to celebrate escaping 😂

BCxx · 28/01/2023 17:50

@Mulner88 that will be amazing and you won’t have another one to run about after like me 😂 I think the main thing making me desperate to book something is by the time we go our next holiday after the baby our little boy will be 2 and they’re only free til theyre 2 most places so I grudge paying that money for him to go to a nice hotel and eat like 3 chips at the buffet 🙈

sally16 · 28/01/2023 18:24

@BCxx I was a bit of a holiday snob before having DS.. caravan hols are great! Especially with a doggy 😍

PumpkinEverything · 28/01/2023 19:57

We’re definitely hoping to go somewhere too @BCxx probably sometime in April! I went to London (I’m from NI) for a few days during my last pregnancy to visit family and then enjoy some nice food and look about for a few days. I was worried about going further with Covid, but we really enjoyed it. I’d love to go to Italy or something for a week but need to price it and check the weather! We were supposed to go to Florida this May but we’re going to postpone until next March/April once the dates for Disney open up!

Nic2908 · 28/01/2023 21:03

I’m another one who has had nipt results back today in only 5 days. I can’t believe it but it’s a girl!!!!! It’s so surreal I have a little boy and my husband is one of 7 boys and 3 grandsons. Absolute shocker. But absolutely over the moon.

anyone had any cravings yet?

UsernameNotPresent · 28/01/2023 21:53

@sally16 @Amme18 @Createcomet thank you for putting my mind at rest!
@Alpacabag22 Sending strength.
@Nic2908 that's wonderful news, congratulations!! I bet she will be the princess of the family 😊💓

Would I regret taking my 2 years 3 months old to Vue mini morning screening? He is generally quite good with cartoons, but tomorrow's viewing is 1 hour 45mins long, and close to his nap... I'm a bit on the fence. Has anyone been?

sally16 · 28/01/2023 21:56

@UsernameNotPresent we went to a hey duggee showing and it was utter carnage.. not one child was sitting they were all running wild and the parents all sitting looking like they were ready to leave them 😂

BCxx · 28/01/2023 22:29

Ahh congratulations @Nic2908 that’s lovely! 💗

BCxx · 28/01/2023 22:32

@PumpkinEverything it was March/April I was looking for. We actually have a weekend to London booked already but I don’t feel as worried about that as my main fear is being abroad and not being able to get a section and no one understanding English 🙈 obviously in March/April I won’t be needing a section so hopefully not a concern then but I feel a lot better going somewhere in the UK where it would be an English speaking hospital if I did have to go! Sounds like a good move rescheduling Disney, that will be great! Sometimes you’re just as well going when they’re quite small, I’ve really noticed between 1 and 1 and a half my little boy had become a lot less tolerant of things in general, sitting in the buggy, sitting in a high chair etc. At least when they’re small they just sleep and do what you make them do 😂

Loudmouth1 · 29/01/2023 00:51

@AnnieApple123 you can stick me down for the 29th of July too!!

PumpkinEverything · 29/01/2023 01:14

@BCxx we went last year when my daughter was 7.5 months so aiming for around the same age as we’re hoping to know roughly what to expect 😂 it was perfect as she couldn’t crawl or anything so was happy enough sitting in the pram looking all round her. She’ll be 2.5 when we go and I’m not sure what that’s going to be like… 😂😂🙈 but at Disney you don’t pay for park tickets until they’re 3 so we want to go while it’s a looootttt cheaper! Very good point on an English speaking country, I’d be the same! I feel like I really need to get a move on and make my mind up on where we’re going and when 🙈

BCxx · 29/01/2023 07:31

@PumpkinEverything yeah I think that’s a good age and past the point of tiny baby where you need to take the kitchen sink with you. I do like now that I can go places with him and although he still has a bottle of cows milk before bed (which he shouldn’t have), he really doesn’t need anything other than nappies, clothes and wipes but then he does cause chaos at times out for dinner etc and when we went on holiday at 9 months he just sat there smiling 😂 so there’s good and bad points. I feel like that will be the biggest shock of going back to the baby stage for me, just all the stuff you need to take everywhere 🙈

AnnieApple123 · 29/01/2023 08:57

@BCxx I’m also quite nervous of going abroad! I travelled a lot pre-DC though and had several stints working abroad so am not too bothered. The novelty’s rather worn off now. We’re just planning an English seaside holiday for April when I’ll be 23/24 weeks. I must confess I did look up what facilities would be available locally if I had a micro preemie and it so happens they’re actually better than where we live. Our local hospital only takes babies from 34 weeks and the one where I’m booked from 28 weeks. This is getting into a slightly ridiculous level of worry though!

I've booked a long weekend in May so my kids can visit their grandparents. All was preliminarily planned prior to us finding out, I've just checked and I'll be around 24ish weeks. Which is probably the latest I'd want to travel. I went abroad at around 27 weeks last pregnancy and flew back on the last possible day I could fly. The holiday was brilliant but The flight made me swell up everywhere! Never again! Xx
