Placemaking, can't believe how close we all are now! I think there will definitely be some babies born on this one 😍.
I finish work this week can't believe it! I'll be just over 35 weeks & have 4 weeks holidays to take first! I'm a full time spa / beauty therapist so can be standing up to 11 hours a day on my long days bent over waxing or massage facials etc, Didn't think I'd be able to make it but so proud that I have! Roll on Saturday 🥰🥰

Franklin321 · 23/01/2023 16:00

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark very squished 😅 her head was so far down they had to do an internal scan to even see my cervix 🤢🤣

havanamama · 23/01/2023 17:58

@Dreamingof3 very cute! Where is that set from?

@Eastybaby19 oh wow! I applaud you for managing to do that type of work so long! So much time on your feet!

havanamama · 23/01/2023 18:00

Ive had a stressful afternoon due to reduced movements, so spent it at the hospital. 😢

Thankfully baby is all ok, and I've felt her since, but this girl is going to give me grey hairs before she is even out!

As a result got another growth scan next week

Eastybaby19 · 23/01/2023 18:47

Thanks @havanamama it's been tough I also have a 3.5 year old so my weekends arnt my own 😂 but I'm almost there 🙌🙌.

Sorry to hear about reduced movements but glad all is ok! I have regular scans just think it's another chance to see baby 🥰

Dreamingof3 · 23/01/2023 19:02

@havanamama I'm glad everything was ok, doesn't always make you feel better though does it!
It's all from a few different places, but the sleepsuit was Sainsbury's x

Splashh · 23/01/2023 19:40

@Choc2022 also stopping at 36 weeks following advice from the obstetrician, by that point the aspirin has done its job anyway.

TeddyBeans · 23/01/2023 21:11

Franklin321 · 23/01/2023 15:42

Placenta scan went well this morning, has moved to 31mm away (needs to be 30mm) so happy with that! Hopefully book in the section next week at consultant appointment 🤞 they did a growth scan at same time and she’s estimated 5lbs 5oz with predicted delivery weight of 9lbs! Obviously take it all with a pinch of salt but they weren’t far off prediction with my son so expecting a nice chunky baby girl 🥰

6 weeks and counting!

Glad your scan went well! Gorgeous picture 🥰🥰

So I've not finished getting nursery furniture or packed a hospital bag ...but I have prepped a birth announcement outfit/setup 😂 I had to share this somewhere...can't cope with how cute it is

Ooooh I love it 😍😍😍

Room4onemore · 24/01/2023 10:06

Struggling today, lack of sleep last night, breathless, can’t walk far. Roll on the next 7 weeks

TeddyBeans · 24/01/2023 10:22

@Room4onemore I feel you, it's relentless 😭 I had to tell DP last night that the main word he's going to hear from me over the next 4 weeks is 'ow' because practically everything hurts

Cuppasoupmonster · 24/01/2023 10:23

Just been catching up - great news on scans and lovely baby announcement there! Glad your little one is okay Havana. For what is worth I think most(?) women worry about reduced movements at some point. I think I went in for monitoring twice with DD.

@Room4onemore i completely understand about the lack of sleep, whatever I do I just cannot drop off without waking up after a few hours. Then once I’m awake it takes me about 2-3 hours to fall asleep again. I’m absolutely shattered. My lower back really aches and I’ve got burning in my hips and in the muscles in my groin. Arghhhh.

I think I’m mainly done with baby shopping now, just need crib sheets for the new crib and probably one or two other little things. However everything is piled up in the corner of our bedroom so there’s a lot of organising/washing to be done! DH is going to get the pram down in a couple of weeks to clean it and so it can stand and ‘air’ in the dining room for a bit.

How long until everyone finishes work? 5 weeks for me 🎉

ChristmasJumpers · 24/01/2023 10:24

Same! It's come on very suddenly that I'm constantly tired but still can't sleep properly 🙄 DH keeps saying "are you okay?" Because every time I move I'm groaning. I'm not even 31 weeks yet!!!

Cats23 · 24/01/2023 11:07

I finish on the 17th of March! A week before DD.
My job is really easy so should be totally fine to work up till week before thankfully.

ChristmasJumpers · 24/01/2023 11:18

Cats23 · 24/01/2023 11:07

Me too (technically just short of 2 weeks before due date but looking likely that she'll be coming a bit earlier)
It's only an office job and I'm working from home but still considering using holidays to finish another week earlier.

I'm a bit torn really because what will I actually do?! I'm not going to be outnfor walks because of PGP. DH will still be working and out of the house. I'll just be sat about whether I'm working or not

Franklin321 · 24/01/2023 11:25

2 weeks (on Thursday) till I finish work! Feels like only yesterday I told work I was pregnant and now I’m in the final weeks!

havanamama · 24/01/2023 11:26

Thank you everyone! It was my 3rd time in a 15 week period. If that trend stays, I hope baby arrives by week 39, so there's no more reduced movement monitoring haha

Got 2 growth scans left now

Being in hospital so close to the delivery time did give me a nervous adrenaline rush 😬😢
I have instructed my husband to hype me
Up in a positive way (we're going to meet our daughter!! type stuff) when the day comes, but it is scary for a FTM.

Does it get less scary when it's not your first?

TeddyBeans · 24/01/2023 11:35

@havanamama I don't think it's less scary as such, just you have more of an idea of what to expect. I haven't had to go for monitoring once through either of my pregnancies and I'm very aware of the fact that I'm the anomaly in that instance. If I had to go for monitoring I'd probably be terrified because I'd never done it before and would be playing out all kinds of worst case scenarios in my head until I got on the monitor.

I've never done a natural birth in as much as it starting naturally so I'm a little worried I'm not going to know what to do or what it's going to feel like but having been induced and giving birth (albeit drugged up to my eyeballs) naturally, I know what the end result feels like and the aftermath. Does that make sense? I hope I'm not rambling nonsense 🤣

Perexi · 24/01/2023 12:58

Oddly I'm suddenly able to sleep well again which is amazing but man this foot pain is crazy! Doctor gave me some painkillers and a physio referral which I'm hoping my work healthcare will cover 🤞🏻 I've never used it but figure may as well try! But more importantly said not to rest foot and to try and push through the pain and stay active.

8 more weeks of work here 😂 I've literally given myself 2 day's off before my due date.... although now we are starting to think maybe using a little annual leave prior might be worth it!

TeddyBeans · 24/01/2023 13:14

@Perexi is it plantar fascitis? I had it after DS was born and there's some stretches you can do. I can't remember them now but Google might throw some up? Good shoes were also recommended!

2 days is not long! What if bubs comes early? You won't have any time to relax before they arrive 😱

CristinaNov182 · 24/01/2023 13:14

@botleybump oh congratulations, how are you and the baby?

is his our first baby of the group, are they more?

im also taking aspirin but haven’t been told to stop. Last time I also took it until gave birth. I have a minor blood clotting disorder so maybe that’s why, but I will ask the midwife.

my DD1 also stopped growing at 36 weeks, so don’t think stopping the aspirin will be good for me. Maybe it didn’t do much but still, considering we had a wrong scan at 38 that showed growth but the scan at 40 showed the same as the 36th and she was born very skinny at 2nd percentile. I think she was in quite some danger so if the aspirin helped only little to thin the blood at least she got some nutrients to keep her going.

I’m also taking the fish oil that comes with pregnant are max and I didn’t know it can delay labour… I wonder if it had an impact last time… so I will be definitely stop it now at 35-36. I don’t want to be induced again.

for everyone that is taking omeprazole or similar for heartburn, I’ve read some articles about a correlation between this and eczema or allergies for children. It’s only a correlation bc they can’t do studies in pregnancy and not enough has been invested to look into this. Anyway I’ve tried to take less and I’ve discovered that I only need to take it only once every few days to prevent my heartburn. Once my heartburn starts acting up again, the following day I take a dose, then see how it goes.

I think it does get less scary, yes. You learn your limits in terms of pain tolerance, plus how quickly time in labour goes - it’s really weird, like being underwater if that makes sense? Everything feels slow but is moving really fast around you, so my labour felt like 3-4 hours rather than the 12 it was! My midwife has also said second labours are generally about half the length of the first unless the first went on for days and days.

Franklin321 · 24/01/2023 13:26

@CristinaNov182 I’ve not heard/seen that about omeprazole! It can be prescribed for babies so I wonder how much of a correlation there is 🤔 I take one every day and hadn’t put much thought into it to be honest!

allthingssparkly · 24/01/2023 13:59

Hello all!

Is anyones baby breech? I'm so worried that he won't turn by the time I am term and I'll end up having a c-section 😖

I've been doing some gentle exercises and brisk walks to help, finger crossed it does.

CristinaNov182 · 24/01/2023 14:12

@Franklin321 one article here

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4776038/

There is nothing conclusive as yet, I guess it’s more of a signal than needs to be studied.

I won’t stop by omeprazole completely but if I can go a few days at a time without I’ll do it.

I’ve also tried some natural remedies, like lemon, gineger, etc, smaller (but more often) meals, early dinners, and they all work to some extent.
