Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

Hi.

Hope all girls here make it ok to September.

I will also join. I should be 5 weeks and few days. But, after a blighted ovum and 2 CPs, I am extremely stressed. Didn't even contact my doctor until know. I've done soooooo many blood tests in the last year, I feel overcome with emotions when waiting the results.

She prescribed some medication - progesterone and aspirin, but I am out of the country and only can take them starting Saturday. Now I am scared I should have taken them from the start and I caused harm
I'm also scared that today I ve done some unwilling cardio effort. I got very heated and my heart rushed like crazy. I am panicking so so much... could I have done any harm?
I'll have my scan on Monday and I'm starting going so so crazy...

Passenger87 · 19/01/2023 17:43

Hi @Ella1211

Gentle congratulations on your pregnancy. The anxiety is so difficult at this stage. It really feels like such a limbo time.

I dont think the cardio could have done any harm at this stage. Totally get the worry though. Fingers crossed September brings you joy x

Ella1211 · 19/01/2023 18:48

@Passenger87 thanks! You are very kind. I feel everything is a bad sign... let's see what news I get on Monday.

CaliGirl47 · 19/01/2023 18:55

Hi @Ella1211 Welcome, and I’m so sorry to hear about your previous pregnancy experiences. Congratulations on your current pregnancy. Let’s hope September brings us all our precious rainbow babies 🌈

I completely understand the waves of anxiety. I have been feeling rather anxious as well. I got out my hospital paperwork from my most recent miscarriage and I saw a bereavement midwife phone number on there, so I rang them up and I found them very kind and helpful.

I am curious about your doctor prescribing you aspirin. Is it a low dose? Did they give any explanation? I have took it upon myself to start taking a low dose aspirin but when I spoke to my GP about it today he said he didn’t know much about it being used in early pregnancy and he wouldn’t like to comment one way or another. I wish you all the best in your pregnancy. 🤗

Passenger87 · 19/01/2023 18:58

@CaliGirl47 I don't know if this helps but due to my previous losses my ob gyn prescribed low dose aspirin (nuprin) and progesterone (cyclogest) from the day of bfp with the option to take from O day if not pregnant within a cycle or two.

I was borderline on my ASP test though...so don't know if that makes a difference.

CaliGirl47 · 19/01/2023 19:03

That is really helpful to know that you were taking it from early on. Thanks for sharing your experience @Passenger87 How far along are you now? Also what is the ASP test?

Ella1211 · 19/01/2023 19:04

We spoke on whatsapp and only listed the medicine and it says 2 tablets per day. Didn't really mention mg... Until Saturday I will have to check, before buying.

Passenger87 · 19/01/2023 19:06

@CaliGirl47 I am only 4w 4. Full of anxiety!

Sorry that was ment to read APL - antiphospholipid - test. They investigated me due to a number of chemicals and a heteroptopic which is apparently rare enough.

How are you?

CaliGirl47 · 19/01/2023 19:23

Oh wow. So sorry to hear about all that you have been through on your fertility journey. @Passenger87
I am 4+5 so we are practically due date buddies! 🤗 Some days I can keep myself busy and distracted, and other days I just feel so anxious. Today was an anxious day so I’m glad I found the phone number for the bereavement midwife. It was helpful just to be able to speak with someone about it all. That’s why I find mumsnet helps as well. 💓 My last miscarriage was a mmc that was discovered at a private scan. So I go back and forth about whether I want to book a private scan this time around or if I’d rather not know if something is wrong….On the one hand I’d like to know it’s a viable pregnancy. But then on the other hand I know the reassurance can be short lived. With my mmc I saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks, and then by 9+4 they couldn’t get a full heartbeat trace so something had gone wrong. 😢 I’m just kind of wishing away these next 7/8 weeks and praying that all will be well at the 12 week scan but it feels a lifetime away….

CaliGirl47 · 19/01/2023 19:27

How’s everybody feeling? 🤗

Have most people got private scans booked? Or is anyone thinking of waiting until the 12 week scan?

Passenger87 · 19/01/2023 19:27

@CaliGirl47 would the epu see you before the 12 weeks?

I have my first scan with epu next week at 5+2 which seems a little early to me but the midwife I spoke to said its just to make sure things are in the right place, but even though I know it will likely be to early to see anything much I wonder if it will cause my anxiety to spike?

It's wonderful that you found that number and also got to speak to someone who had some empathy and understanding x

Littleheart5 · 19/01/2023 19:30

I’ll join too. Just found out this evening that I’m pregnant, I’m 4+2. A due date on end Sept. I’ve had two miscarriages previously, the last one at 10 weeks in March. I’ve also been prescribed progesterone and aspirin to hopefully keep this little one in. I have to say I have anxiety around the baby being born with a chromosomal issue, as I’ve just turned 40. My husband very cautiously happy too, but I’d love to be able to get excited.

Congratulations to all and fingers crossed for everyone

CaliGirl47 · 19/01/2023 19:46

It’s possible. @Passenger87 The midwife today said she would look into it and let me know what the EPU says. But it wouldn’t be for a couple of weeks. I’m glad you are getting some support and I really hope your scan goes well next week. Hopefully it will fill you with hope and excitement that everything is growing in the right place and all is as it should be.👶🏼🍼 🌈 There might not be a lot to see yet, so as long as you don’t go in with high expectations (like you’ve already said) then hopefully it will be a joyful experience. 🤗

Congratulations, and welcome! @Littleheart5 🌈🤗

Ella1211 · 19/01/2023 19:46

@Littleheart5

welcome and hope this will be your rainbow baby. I have many friends who got pregnant at 40 (+) and they have healthy babies. One step at the time. Fingers crossed for the pregnancy to go 👍

Houseelf90 · 19/01/2023 19:58

@CaliGirl47 I’m going to call EPU on Monday to see if I am able to get any early scans, not sure they will give me them as I had 2 CP’s but all I can do is try! My other half won’t want to pay for private unfortunately, all money will be going into baby and I need a new car, terrible timing!!

Is anyone else needing to pee allll the time?? I think I’m on the loo every 2 hours today even if I’ve not drank loads since the last one!!

localbunny · 19/01/2023 20:57

Feeling slightly worried today at 4+5 because I have a horrible migraine, which is usually the sign my period will start the next day. Hoping that it's just other hormonal changes triggering it instead - a CB put me at 2-3 weeks so plenty of hormones rushing around! When is good to book an early scan? Any advice appreciated!

Ella1211 · 19/01/2023 21:36

@localbunny

It's definitely also a symptom of pregnancy! Fingers crossed this is the case.

pinkpirlie · 19/01/2023 21:49

Reading through all the messages really lays bare the toll recurrent miscarriages have on anxiety levels in later pregnancies. Every one is so strong to keep persevering.

It's just so hard to turn off that worry and anxiety. I too find myself wishing the time away, unable to concentrate on my day and feeling constantly sick and my pulse is racing.

@CaliGirl47
I have booked a private scan next Sunday when I will be 6+3. I have decided to do private at 6w and 9w and NHS at 12 as I would prefer to know sooner rather than later if something is wrong, so I can start processing the loss and begin to move forward again.

I'm about to turn 40 too @Littleheart5 and have the same worries about everything.

Blueskies4 · 20/01/2023 08:07

@pinkpirlie I’ll be doing the same as you and booking private scans at 7 and 9 weeks - I’ve had a mmc so would rather know asap too. Fingers crossed all your early scans go well and there’s no uncertainty, I know the stress it causes.

Ive had 3 mc in total so I’ll speak to my Gp in the next week or so and see if the nhs will see me for any early scans. My cousin said that when she was going through the same the Bradford trust had a weekly scan clinic for women who had rmc where you could drop in and get a scan - has anyone heard of similar? I’d be there every week!! Xx

Passenger87 · 20/01/2023 08:24

Good luck today @Furbabymum15 keeping everything x for you

HopefulBee · 20/01/2023 08:33

Hi all, hope it’s ok I join as well. I had a miscarriage in November and am now 4+2 pregnant again. I can’t shake the anxiety especially as I don’t feel any real symptoms except bloating in the evening and more thirsty perhaps. It is really similar to my last pregnancy which I lost. Anyone else have this? Am worried it’s a bad sign.

Blueskies4 · 20/01/2023 09:44

Hi @HopefulBee I don’t know if this helps but I’ve read that generally symptoms are more noticeable from 6 weeks.. many women don’t have many at all, a few of my friends have had really symptom free first trimesters.

My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, but my second was my now 3 yo and I had exactly the same symptoms for both pregnancies.

wishing you loads of luck xx

Izzie94x · 20/01/2023 10:00

Hi ladies!✨

Hope it’s ok if I join, I haven’t ever experienced loss - and I’m so sorry for all of you that have 💖 but I am pregnant and will be due end of September after my first round of IVF/ICSI, so I’m incredibly anxious somethings going to happen!!

How do you ladies make yourself feel a bit better? I’m currently 4 weeks 2 days and feeling no symptoms, except sore boobs but from the progesterone pessaries!! And some bloating from OHSS, which has got better over the last few days and worried me my hcg is dropping - ahhh it’s a never ending cycle of worry!!

Hope you’re all ok x

Blueskies4 · 20/01/2023 11:02

Hi @Izzie94x congratulations on your pregnancy :)

I personally find it’s nice to have lots of plans with friends, family, etc to focus on something else during the early weeks, and a nice treat like a massage never hurts!

xx

pinkpirlie · 20/01/2023 11:42

Welcome @HopefulBee congratulations 🎉
The anxiety is so real.
I don't have a lot of symptoms either, and they seem to be worse in an evening. So every morning I start worrying something is going wrong again when I wake up and feel normal.
All we can do it take it day by day, and try to enjoy the time. If the worst happens it will hurt like hell whether or not we have been anxious, so we may as well try to enjoy it. More easily said than done.

@Izzie94x congratulations on your IVF success! You must be super thrilled. I am finding time is going so slowly, but I'm trying to keep busy.
