Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me tentatively joining!
I had a very faint positive on a cheapy test yesterday at 12dpo, after chemicals in October (5.5 weeks) and December (4.5 weeks). I have some FRER’s ordered which should be here tomorrow.
Does anyone know how you estimate the due date if you get your BFP in the month following your chemical? I had a small amount of blood when wiping on 21/12 and then started bleeding properly on 22/12. Do I count one of those dates as my last period? I usually have a short cycle length so using 21/12 would put me at 4 weeks now and due 25/09!

So sorry to hear about your bleeding @elleh2023 Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing to worry about. EPU is the best place to be. Really hope you get some answers and reassurance lovely. Xx

Thinking of you @elleh2023, bleeding can be so worrying, although of course it does happen in some normal healthy pregnancies. Hope you get some reassurance, keep us posted x

That was me in 2021 after miscarriages however now I'm 43 and have a beautiful little girl 15months old as well as my DS. It's hard when they call you a geriatric mother, something I can't stand the NHS doing in this day and age! However your not alone trust me.
It's hard as at time you think worst but in hindsight I wish I had relaxed more (can't if your working though). Keep up with the vitamins and folic acid, enjoy all the extra scans you get and relax.
Once they are here you will never look back at miscarriages like you do now, if I hadn't lost I would never have found my little girl x
Good luck x

@elleh2023 fingers crossed you get some reassurance.

@Houseelf90 yes you can count the 1st day as the day your chemical began. Do you track ovulation? If so you can use that add and add 2 weeks.

Today I woke up feeling a little like the onset of tummy flu. Normally I'd be fuming but I'm delighted and hoping it's a positive sign. Having some right sided cramping so have called epu but I know they likely won't scan me for at least another 2-3 weeks.

@Passenger87 thank you, I thought it would be but just wanted to check with someone. The nurse advise me to wait until I’d had a full cycle after my first CP to make dates easier, but I didn’t want to waste any time just for a bit of convenience working out dates! I don’t track ovulation so just went on predictions from an app!

Hopefully that’s a good sign of nausea/morning sickness and not an actual tummy bug! Fingers crossed for you!

I've got something called cervical ectropian, so have been warned this won't be my first bleed during the pregnancy but apparently it won't harm the baby. Got to go back at 6pm tonight for a scan but so far all is okay x

@elleh2023 pleased to hear this shouldn’t affect the baby, good luck for your scan tonight x

@elleh2023 sorry to hear about your bleeding, I'm glad it sounds like it isn't going to impact baby. Will be thinking of you later tonight.

@elleh2023 i had this in my first pregnancy. Just meant a few extra trips to hospital to check it out after bleeds. Glad everything is ok!

@elleh2023 I hope everything goes ok for you. I found out I have an ectropian cervix just before I conceived and the doctor said it was the biggest she'd seen in terms of the redness, so I was expecting some spotting during pregnancy, but glad I haven't had any so far as it would make me worried a miscarriage was happening. Bleeding is common with an ectropian cervix because the cells are more sensitive, but I understand the worry it causes and it's best to get checked out.

Hi all, just wanted to update you all that I had my scan this evening and all went well ❤️🤰🌈
One healthy baby measuring 9+5weeks.

I've never cried so much in relief.

I'm baffled as I've had little to no symtoms whatsoever, guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
It still hasn't quite sunk in that all is ok, as I convinced myself that it wasn't.
But for now my prayers have been nswered 🙏

Just wanted to thank you all for your well wishes today it really does go along way.

I'm wishing you all the best of luck, hope and joy for your journeys 😍

That’s so good to know that baby is okay. 💓 I hope the scan went well. @elleh2023 Hopefully you feel reassured by getting an explanation for the bleeding. And it’s useful that they’ve warned you to brace yourself for the possibility of more bleeding. So if it happens again hopefully it won’t be as distressing or a cause for alarm. X

aw that’s brilliant news! @Gymgal88 I am so chuffed for you that it all went well! And it’s such a lovely time to see baby on the ultrasound, as they are finally starting to look more babyish. Haha like a little jelly baby. 🥰🤗🌈 So pleased for you hun. Hopefully the time will fly by and before you know it you’ll be having your 12 week scan. X

@Gymgal88 that's great news!

@elleh2023 I hope this evening went OK for you x

I have my first scan next week at 5 + 3 and I'm already super nervous.

On a positive note I'm getting great line progression and feel awful 😀 so hopefully that means good things. Evem fell asleep on the sofa earlier which never happens.

Due late September after 3 mc, only found out on Sunday, I’ve got the twingy sharp feelings and my stomach feels awful already from the combination of progesterone and metoformin. But all worth it if it means I get to keep this little bub. So happy for all you ladies on here. MC and the whole journey afterwards is so awful 💕💕💕

@Gymgal88 and @elleh2023 congratulations on your scans - wonderful news.

I have woken today with very few symptoms. I feel completely different to the past few days.
I'm seriously anxious that I am miscarrying again. Luckily I've gone into the office, so I have to hold it together which is helping. Will do a clearblue test tomorrow morning to see if there is any change to the weeks indicator since last week, which should help either calm my anxiety, or allow me to start to grieve.

@pinkpirlie I know how you feel! Although I’m kind of the opposite to you, I’m having the same symptoms as with both my CP’s - mainly lower back pain/ache and I’m now convinced it’ll be another chemical. I’m also in the office today, scared every time I go to the loo. Just trying to make it through the next 2 weeks, one loo break at a time! If I make the next 2 weeks that’ll be my furthest pregnancy and although I’ll still massively worry, I’ll be slightly at ease! 💞

@Houseelf90 sorry you're feeling the same. The anxiety is relentless and so hard to silence. Wishing you lots of baby dust and a sticky bean 💜

Houseelf90 · 17/01/2023 13:36

@pinkpirlie thank you, and the same to you, it’s so hard not to stress about it. If I make it through the next 2 weeks I am going to speak to the EPU to see if I am able to get any early scans to help the stress and anxiety, given the previous losses, but I’m not sure whether they will give me any given they have been so early previously.

@elleh2023 i know there’s not much to see, but that little bean is so lovely!

does anyone know how to date pregnancy when ovulation is late, according to my last period I’m 4week+ 6, but I ovulated late so I can’t be any more than 4 + 2 or 3 I know it’s only a few days difference, but I don’t how much pregnant I am 😂
do I just go with 4+6 and then expect to be put back a few days at dating scan?

Report
Houseelf90 · 17/01/2023 18:46

@Mannymoomin sorry I can’t help really! It’s soo confusing the way it’s all worked out I think! According to my cycle lengths and last period dates I’m 4+1 but I didn’t start bleeding with my CP until 4 weeks tomorrow 🤷‍♀️

I’ve just tested (again!) and had a nice line on an FRER. Not massively dark but well and truly there! I can’t really compare it to my Lehrer tests for progression as they were just cheap internet tests, but they were barely their squinters, so I’m pleased with a proper line!

Very happy to read your positive updates @Gymgal88 and @elleh2023 !

@Mannymoomin im having exactly the same problem. If I go by last period I’m 5w, but I ovulated about a week late (I assume due to body recovering from ivf hormones the month before) and so I think development-wise I’m more like 4w. I want to book a reassurance scan around 7w if I get that far, but have no idea when that will be!
