Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

🤦‍♀️ just read my post back and there’s some auto correct fails….”Lehrer” should be “other” and should have said “barely there” not “their”…..no doubt there are other mistakes but 🤷‍♀️

BEL88 · 17/01/2023 20:53

Hi all, just wanted to mark a place on this thread with you all. I think I'm due 24th September so 4+2. I've had 3 chemicals and 1 mmc in the past year. I really hope this one goes well for all of us 🤞
Got a scan booked in for 2nd feb
I've already got one DS who is 4

Houseelf90 · 17/01/2023 20:56

Welcome @BEL88! is your scan a private one or through the NHS?

BEL88 · 17/01/2023 21:06

Thanks @Houseelf90 Through the NHS. I had a bit of a panic and after getting in touch with the docs they referred me to EPU who put me down for reassurance scans

Passenger87 · 17/01/2023 21:14

Congratulations @BEL88 !

It's wonderful there are threads like this that offer such support and similar experiences.

Houseelf90 · 17/01/2023 21:14

@BEL88 thank you, that’s useful to know! I think I’ll ring the EPU next week and try and beg! My doctors have been a bit useless so I’ve been speaking directly with the EPU about any problems I’ve had! Not sure if it’s just different regions doing things differently but when I called to tell them I was pregnant the first time the doctor didn’t have a clue what to do or say (his advice was to “follow a good diet” and stop taking my contraceptive pill 🤦‍♀️ even though he’d already asked if it was planned - yes! Also “some women choose to take folic acid”….I’m already on a high dose for anaemia)…anyway a nurse called me back and explained I needed to register online! So after that I just went straight for the EPU!

BEL88 · 17/01/2023 21:45

@Houseelf90 to be honest they weren't that great and it took a bit of effort for the gp to refer me to EPU but it's done now. I had a day of panicking and crying and managed to get that sorted so feel I have at least done something this time instead of just waiting for it to go wrong (although I still am). I'm on a waiting list for recurrent miscarriage clinic but it's been 6 months already and I'm not expected to hear anything until March apparently!

That's so bad about your GP 😯hopefully EPU will be more helpful.

Houseelf90 · 17/01/2023 21:50

@BEL88 I can completely understand your worries! I’ve not registered this one yet or spoken to EPU as I’m trying not to tempt fate….that’s a next week job 🤞🏼

Furbabymum15 · 17/01/2023 22:40

Evening all ladies I've got my 6 wk scan on Friday and I'm terrified. I've never had good news at any scan..... Keep testing got dye stealer on frer but still not on easy at home 😔 I've no symptoms either..... Praying for a miracle x

@Furbabymum15 good luck for scan on Friday. I never had a due stealer on easy@home. Got my first dye stealer on a FRER at 5+2 but easy@homes just reached a particular intensity and never darkened beyond that. So don’t worry about that. I have now stopped testing. I have a scan booked for next Tuesday when I’ll be 7+2.

Tinkerbell098 · 17/01/2023 23:59

Sorry for all the typos ☝️ Phone obviously thinks it’s cleverer than me 😂😂

Tinkerbell098 · 18/01/2023 00:00

@Furbabymum15 also no symptoms. Been waiting for something to kick in by now. Nada!

Picoloangel · 18/01/2023 06:07

Good luck to you all. I have everything crossed for all of you.
@Furbabymum15 there are a couple of threads on here of 40 something pregnancies. One is of a 44 year old who is pregnant after years of apparent infertility and all is going well.

StayWeird · 18/01/2023 13:41

Hi, mind if I join you all? 😊 I think I'm around 4+6.

I had a MC last year in January at 8 weeks and a chemical in August 2020. We've been trying since Jan 2021 and I was due to start IVF this month.

I'm so incredibly anxious, I'm trying to distract myself as much as possible and keep off Google as I've been driving myself crazy analysing lines/ symptoms etc. It's hard not to be wishing the weeks away!

Wishing for sticky beans for us all 🤞🌈

Houseelf90 · 18/01/2023 18:14

Welcome @StayWeird! Sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages! It’s really difficult isn’t it!!

Houseelf90 · 18/01/2023 18:16

@StayWeird sorry I pressed post too soon 🤦‍♀️ I’m feeling quite positive today but then I find myself still googling symptoms to check it in a positive way 🙈 can’t win really!! And yes I have been checking on the calendar when I’ll get to 6 weeks, 8 weeks etc!

Passenger87 · 18/01/2023 21:23

@Furbabymum15 I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, hopefully it all goes well. The anxiety can be tough x

I have my gp app on Friday to get official confirmation and appointment in the EPU for a scan on 25th (5+2), does that seem early? I think its because of previous heterotopic?

I hope you all are doing well

Blueskies4 · 18/01/2023 21:25

@Furbabymum15 really hopeful for you that you have a positive scan on Friday x

Hope you don’t all mind me hopping on the thread, I’m in a similar position and have just found out I’m pregnant too (albeit ridiculously early… I’m about 3+3 so I’ve got a way to go before I can get a reassurance scan etc!)

I completely feel your pain(s) when reading through your posts, it’s just awful when you’ve had the anxiety yourself and know how it feels to be reading of other women going through it. Sending lots of love and hoping for September babies for you all xx

Goneaboutthiswrong · 19/01/2023 06:44

Hello everyone,
I’ve had my first scan at epu where i saw an heartbeat for the first time and got teary . they dated me 6+1 on 17/1. I have another reassurance scan at 9 weeks (which seems like forever and a day away!)
I had a bfp last year September, and was due to have my first scan at 12wks when I started spotting at 11. I was told I have a blighted ovum and mc naturally 3/11. (First mc 10years before)
i had a period 3/12 and guess it happened quickly after that. Although it was not planned, this will be my first at 35yrs old!
I’ve been put on cyclogest by epu, twice a day until my next scan. I’ve got no symptoms except pulling pains which worry me all the time.
Wishing you all the best, it feels good to have similar experiences when reading your messages, so thank you all ❤️

Mountainview8 · 11/01/2023 15:11

Hi everyone, I'm 6+5 and due early Sept after I had a MMC Christmas 2021. I haven't had bad symptoms, just a bit of nausea, but I hardly had any symptoms last time, so even though mild I'm taking some symptoms as positive.

Hi Mountainview, I'm sorry to hear about your MMC. I'm 4+5 and due late Sept, I also had a miscarriage December 2021. Wishing you and everyone all the best!

Mountainview8 · 19/01/2023 09:24

@localbunny thank you, but it's not looking hopeful, I went for a private early scan yesterday at what I calculated as 7+4 and there is an empty sac 😥 I have a follow up with the EPU tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage and I'm wishing you well for this pregnancy.

localbunny · 19/01/2023 10:10

@Mountainview8 so sorry to hear your news 😔

Passenger87 · 19/01/2023 10:57

@Mountainview8 sorry to hear this.

Houseelf90 · 19/01/2023 11:47

@Mountainview8 sorry to hear this, look after yourself x

pinkpirlie · 19/01/2023 13:26

@Mountainview8
