Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

Congratulations!! @HopefulBee So exciting to find out you are having a baby girl. 💕😊

Bizzybee900 · 08/04/2023 23:16

Congrats @HopefulBee !
Thanks for your info on 16 week appointment everyone. Mine is on Friday.
@kl1999 sorry to hear you had a hard night. I am finding the mood swings come in waves, it probably is very hormone related like you said. Thanks for you advice @HopefulBee will take it on board too. @CaliGirl47 I was unwell at 11 weeks in a similar way to what you described (projectile vomiting, couldn't eat/ drink for a few days, just so so weak) and I sure baby couldn't possibly survive that but baby did! Presumably a second trimester baby should be hardier than a first trimester one so try to not to panic to much, but I know that's easier said than done! Wishing you a peacefully night and good luck for your scan tomorrow! ❤

@HopefulBee congratulations on the baby girl 🥰💕 and thank you for the advice I really felt everything you said on there! Thank you.

Astar21 · 09/04/2023 22:48

Hi ladies, busy few days so just catching up on the thread. I hope you're all having a nice weekend 🐣
I had my scan today and it was wonderful. It was amazing to see how much baby has grown since the 12w scan! All their features looked so clear and like a proper little baby 💛 Also found out I have an anterior placenta, so could be a few weeks yet before feeling any movement.

@HopefulBee congratulations on baby girl 💗 how lovely!

@CaliGirl47 how are you doing lovely? I completely understand the anxiety you've been feeling. It's so easy to let our heads get into a spin and think the worst. But we've come so far ❤️ and these babies are stronger than we realise. I hope tomorrow goes wonderful for you and you come away with the feeling of reassurance and excitement.

@kl1999 how are you lovely? Stronger emotions can definitely be blamed on pregnancy hormones! I'm normally one of these that doesn't easily get emotional. But this past couple of weeks things have hit in a different way. I watched a true-story documentary on tv the other day, which I got SO teary over (this is normally unheard of for me 😂). Our bodies are going through so much change at the moment, it's okay and normal to feel overwhelmed.

HopefulBee · 10/04/2023 16:52

Thanks for the very nice words everyone! We are really really happy 😊.

@Astar21 wonderful to hear that you had a really nice scan. It is so nice to seem the grow and change right?

@CaliGirl47 hope the scan today went well and you had a lovely view of baby.

CaliGirl47 · 10/04/2023 19:51

That’s amazing @Astar21 I’m so pleased you had a lovely scan. You’re right these babies are so resilient. 💗

Today was a good day thankfully. I was so nervous, but the ladies at the scan place were lovely and everyone was so excited the excitement was contagious. Thankfully all was well with baby and everything looked healthy 🥲🥹 Such a relief to see baby wriggling away as soon as they came into view. Baby was sitting on it’s legs at first so they sent me out for some chocolate and a walk to get baby moving. Then I came back and they got “the potty shot” that they were looking for. It was all screened off so we couldn’t see that part, but we’ve got an envelope that contains “the potty shot” and a confetti cannon ready for Thursday when our family fly in and we can all have a little party together. My DD is so excited. They really made a big fuss of her being a big sister and gave her a little gift pack with a bottle to feed baby. 🥹🥰 We’ve all been buzzing all day it was such a lovely experience. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I think this thread is almost full so maybe time for a new one? I’m not an experienced Mumsnetter so I don’t know the best way to do it. But I‘ve seen some threads start out with everyone’s due date. My EDD is September 23rd

sending hugs to all 🌸🌷🌼 Thanks for being there even in my panic/anxiety moments. ❤️‍🩹

HopefulBee · 11/04/2023 09:12

@CaliGirl47 Yay, that’s so nice to hear! Very happy for you and how exciting that you will find out the gender with your family tomorrow. 🥰

Good idea to create a new thread and to start with our due dates. I’m also not sure how to do that kind of stuff but if anyone does it, my EDD is 19 September.

Houseelf90 · 11/04/2023 09:56

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet over the last couple of days, I’ve been enjoying the bank holiday weekend with family 🥰 pleased to hear scans went well, @CaliGirl47 thats so exciting you will find out with your family, and so cute about your daughter coming to the scan, how exciting for her!

@HopefulBee I keep thinking we’ve nearly filled this one and it’d be great to get a list of due dates together for the next thread! My EDD is 25th September and we’re keeping the gender a surprise if anyone wants to keep a list and add pink/blue/yellow hearts with our EDD’s!

Skw11 · 11/04/2023 14:29

I didn't even know threads could fill up 😅 my date is 18 Sept. Really can't decide whether to find out at 20 weeks or not, we go back and forth a lot!!

Daisy155 · 11/04/2023 14:45

@CaliGirl47 that sounds so exciting and how sweet they gave her a little bottle to feed baby, this is so lovely 🥰 I am buzzing for you can’t wait to hear how Thursday goes💕 Glad you had a lovely scan

Bizzybee900 · 11/04/2023 14:51

Congrats @Astar21 and @CaliGirl47 glad you had great scans (: must be such a relief! I booked a gender scan for next week. My EDD is 30th Sept.

Littleheart5 · 11/04/2023 15:30

Ive also been enjoying the break so not that active! My EDD is Sept 28, I wonder how many of us will actually deliver in October!

Houseelf90 · 11/04/2023 18:09

@Littleheart5 there seems to be a lot towards the end of September doesn’t there so I guess a few will spill into October!

Littleheart5 · 11/04/2023 20:26

Has everyone told work so far? I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow so thinking it may be time to bite the bullet

Tinkerbell098 · 12/04/2023 09:09

@Littleheart5 I'm planning to tell my boss this morning. I'm so nervous, as another team member is also going on mat leave in June. I know it's silly to feel anxious. Let's see how it goes, fingers crossed!

CaliGirl47 · 12/04/2023 11:21

All the best with telling your boss this morning. I hope it goes smoothly and they shower you with the excitement and support you deserve. 🤗 @Tinkerbell098 and you too @Littleheart5 I can imagine it must be nerve wracking, but hopefully they treat you kindly just as you deserve.

I’ve started a new thread as this one is almost full. Here is the link:
