@BackOfTheMum5net @dunkedbiscuit All went well thank you! Everything looked fine. Confirmed that baby is deffo a girl ☺️ and I got my MatB1 form so that's one more thing checked off.

@MountainLaurel7 I had a wrap style one and I absolutely loved it. In fact it's one of the few things I still have from my daughter being a baby, 8 years later!

mummyxx2 · 09/03/2023 21:58

Hey everyone, just came across this and found it fascinating!!

Quite uncomfortable this evening, have cramps and pains which I think are braxton hicks. Feel like I'm expanding rapidly at this point, misjudged the amount of room I needed to go round a corner in the shop earlier 😂. I'm 23+3 now.

MountainLaurel7 · 09/03/2023 23:26

@dunkedbiscuit @rach971 Thanks, that helps in deciding😊

BackOfTheMum5net · 10/03/2023 07:41

@septembersapphire7 that’s good! It’s not very sore and I don’t feel groggy, but with hindsight I should have put it in my right arm as I’m sleeping on my left- learn from my mistake!

99pctpractice · 10/03/2023 09:42

@mummyxx2 I love that!!! Those videos are super cute. I was wondering how much space they have to wriggle about at this stage!

Just wondering what people are doing to stay active? I used to cycle to work, but stopped at 20 weeks and just got a depressing notification (now turned off!!) that my average daily activity levels have reduced by about half in the last 2 weeks...which is to be expected, but I also would like to try to keep some fitness to be strong for the third trimester when things will really start to slow down...

@99pctpractice I took up swimming as my midwife was a bit down on running in case I fell over. Apparently you can keep on swimming until your due date and it’s very comfortable as you get heavier! I’ve also been doing little ten minute pregnancy yoga sessions on YouTube- I like Katy Appleton’s best.

I’m still going to ballet class but definitely not wearing a leotard 😂 Starting to get a bit wobbly now too…

clouise30 · 12/03/2023 13:18

Fellow anterior placenta ladies! 23+3 today and finally this week my partner has felt her kick which is just so lovely and now this morning we've been led watching and can see her movements from the outside 😍! It's all starting to get veeeeery real now haha!

AnxiousAnnie94 · 12/03/2023 17:59

Hi everyone :)

I got given my Mat 1 form (?) at my midwife appointment on Thursday. Can I please ask, what so I have to do with this?
Do I fill anything in? Does this go to my boss or do they just have to see it and I tell them a date? Also, am I allowed to change the date if I decide I can't carry on right up until my due date? I am due 4th July and hoping to work till the 30th June, all being well.

Thanks and sorry if that's a a stupid question!

septembersapphire7 · 12/03/2023 19:38

@AnxiousAnnie94 I had to fill out a maternity leave allocation form and send a copy of the front and back of the matb1 form with the application.

they wanted to know how long I intended to take off (first and last days of Mat leave) and whether I wanted the payments spread over the time of given.

check with your boss/HR whether there is a form for you to fill in. In terms of time off, you can start whenever you want but be aware that if you go off sick in the 4 weeks prior to your due date, they will start your mat leave from that time.

septembersapphire7 · 12/03/2023 19:38

(That should read *application form)

22+5 here now. Starting to feel kicks above the belly button for the first time!!! Before now they have been really low. Seems to like playing hide and seek - everytime I feel some string kicks I put my hand in my belly and they totally stop! Still very uncomfortable at night and have purchased a pregnancy pillow which hopefully should arrive today. Heartburn has also kicked in but it's not being helped by my intense cravings for pickled cauliflower at night!!! Anyone else in the craving boat?

babybrainfart · 13/03/2023 13:14

I'm craving fresh orange juice at the moment. It just tastes so amazing!

Leezo · 13/03/2023 16:24

If it's not pickled cauliflower it's white chocolate! Or I must say I've grown very partial to a garage deli jambon.....I wish I was craving good stuff like OJ but baby wants what bny wants lol!!

BackOfTheMum5net · 13/03/2023 17:57

@Leezo pickled cauliflower sounds like a superfood! Enjoy!

rach971 · 13/03/2023 20:27

@Leezo Which one did you go for? I'm still trying to make my mind up 😂

Rutennotou · 14/03/2023 00:47

I've found my mood to be all over the place lately. Really up and down. I have a midwife appointment on the 20th so I'm gonna speak to her about it.

We have two cats and they really aren't getting along lately. They've been together almost 3 years. The older female just turns on the younger male for no reason and he's so docile. He's absolutely terrified. Probably going to have to rehome one of them and my heart is broken 💔 😭

bubble55 · 14/03/2023 09:14

I have flu and it’s now turned into sinusitis and conjunctivitis too :( feeling really unwell and down in the dumps with it.

babybrainfart · 14/03/2023 11:16

@Rutennotou I feel for you, that's so sad. I have an older female (3 yrs) and younger male (almost 1) and he is always trying to annoy her and she just wants to be left alone. The thing is she's just moody and doesn't really like anyone, but he's the most lovely and friendliest cat in the world. They have both ended up becoming more indoor cats over winter, so I think I'm going to start encouraging her to go out more in the hope giving her some space for him might help.
