@Rutennotou that's weird that the antibiotics didn't work. How are you feeling today?
I found out I've got an anterior placenta this time (I'm assuming this is the right term for it being at the front?) So made me feel better about not feeling much movement. Although since yesterday I have started to feel something which is lovely, but gutted it'll be a while till DH will be able to feel it.

Hjudge56 · 06/02/2023 12:39

Hey guys! Does anyone have suggestions for pram bundles? Feel clueless with what to look at and go for! Some are so expensive! I’ve seen a relatively fair priced bundle by BabaBing- has anyone used this brand before?

MamaSJ15 · 06/02/2023 12:43

@Hjudge56 they really are expensive aren't they!
I've just ordered a pram set (pram and carry cot) from Cosatto which was in the sale. But because we didn't want the car seat it was cheaper than the other bundles. If you can get them in the sale some of their stuff isn't too badly priced.
Never used BabaBing so can't comment on the one I'm afraid.

Hi all.
Is it normal for my stomach to feel 'heavy'. I've always had a flat stomach and out of nowhere towards the end of last week/ this week, it has popped out (I don't think I look pregnant, just like I've eaten too much food). Anyway, all day today, I've had an almost stretchy, pulley feeling in my stomach and it just feels, how I would describe, 'heavy'. Weird feeling and not sure if this is 'normal' or if I should he contacting my health visitor. I suddenly feel huge!

Summersun3 · 06/02/2023 18:57

Hello its been a while since i posted here, hope everyone is doing really well in the 2md trimester 💓

@Hjudge56 I got a pram and carrycot on marketplace, went for an oyster 3. It looks basically new we're really pleased and dead cheap.

@AnxiousAnnie94 that sounds OK to me as long as its not sharp pains or anything but I'm obviously not a doctor! I think round ligament pain (bit of stretching) is OK?

AnxiousAnnie94 · 06/02/2023 19:24

Yes. Nothing sharp. The occasional period type ache that I used to get and just a pulling, tightening feeling. I will be 19 weeks tomorrow.

clouise30 · 06/02/2023 20:00

Hi all - I hope everyone is okay! I've been feeling movement on and off for a few weeks now (am 18+4 today) but the last couple of days I've not really felt anything I don't think. To make it a bit harder, when i had my private gender scan a couple of weeks ago the lady did say I have an anterior placenta. At what point can I phone the midwife/ maternity at the hospital and say about reduced movements/ change in pattern? I just don't want them to think I'm silly and too early to be checked??

Mummy2Girls22 · 06/02/2023 20:31

@clouise30 my midwife told me you wouldn't track movement untill 26weeks when they then become regular.

I also have the pulling sensation, I do remember it from my last 2 pregnancies.
Sometimes it takes my breath away as it come unexpectedly and more so when picking my daughter up.
I'm looking to get the doona car seat/stroller as well just for ease on the school run and have the bugaboo cameleon for big walks and days out.

On prams, I cannot recommend the Babyzen yoyo enough. For city living, it is so convenient - so light, so easy to fold up and unfold, so small when folded. It’s amazing, so easy. BUT doesn’t go flat, so you need the bassinet attachment. I had a different pram until DS was 6 months (Indian brand, not available here) which lay flat, so can’t comment on the Babyzen bassinet. They are always available on Facebook marketplace.

The car seats that are Babyzen compatible are expensive, but we do have one. It’s good for travel especially air travel. Slots on easily, quite light but feels robust.

I would really recommend the car seat we got before we got the Babyzen - Joie 360 spin. It’s an isofix one which I find to be a bit of a pain but is supposedly safer. The fact it turns around to face the car seat makes it very easy to get the baby in, and it works reverse and front facing - we just switched to front facing at about 16 months. DS hates it but he hates all car seats - and he falls asleep in it quite easily so hopefully it isn’t actually uncomfortable.

Just my thoughts :)

The Doona - I looked at it a bit, but I think it’s got a pretty shoddy safety rating?

@AnxiousAnnie94 I'd say that's normal. But be prepared to feel heavier some days than others. There's some days that I feel like I'm almost dragging my body around, and other days I feel super light and moving around is easy. I get a weird heavy feeling in my lower tummy sometimes, especially when I'm standing up or sitting down. It feels strange but it doesn't happen everyday.

Thanks!
I feel much less heavy this morning than I did yesterday 🤣
Still feel the size of a house though, even though in reality I'm still in my size 10 jeans. I can't wait to get even bigger 🤔🤣

Namechangedforthis60 · 07/02/2023 10:12

I’m still finding movements are really intermittent with this pregnancy which is so strange as with the others I’m sure I could feel more at this point! I’m trying not to let anxiety take over again as up until about 14 weeks I was a bit of a mess with worry 🤣

rach971 · 07/02/2023 10:44

@AnxiousAnnie94 I can't fasten the buttons on my jeans anymore 😂 I did buy a pair of over bump maternity jeans which I found super comfy at first, but now they feel a bit tight on my bump, so I'm going to look for alternatives soon. Can't keep walking around with my trousers undone 😂

I feel a lot less heavy today than I did yesterday as well. But then I had eaten a lot more yesterday than I currently have today so that might be why!

clouise30 · 07/02/2023 11:00

Spoke with DAU and they said I could go straight up if I was worried for them to have a listen in. Took a minute or so but they found her heartbeat really low down so big relief! She said it's really common with anterior placentas and to not ever feel silly about getting checked out when I think somethings not quite right or am having a panic!

RandomCatGenerator · 07/02/2023 14:31

What is DAU, @clouise30?

I was so relieved at my private scan this weekend when they told me I had an anterior placenta. Explains why I can’t feel anything - but he was wiggling away on screen at the scan!

clouise30 · 07/02/2023 15:08

@RandomCatGenerator sorry! The Day Assessment Unit that's linked on to the back of my local labour ward at the hospital. I honestly had no idea how common anterior placentas are! The relief when you hear a heartbeat/see them wiggling is crazy isn't it! I think my shoulders came down about a foot 😂

MamaSJ15 · 07/02/2023 20:27

@clouise30 yeah I didn't realise that either. Turns out I have one too, first time was at the back so different this time around. Lovely to see them moving on the scans isn't it 😍

clouise30 · 07/02/2023 21:23

@MamaSJ15 ah just the best! I have 2 weeks until my 20 week scan and I'm already counting down the days to see her again 😂!

dunkedbiscuit · 08/02/2023 09:15

@habiller what did you decide to do re the insomnia meds? I think it’s a personal choice and understandable you’d want to weigh it up, but if the amount of worry you’d have about taking them would potentially stop you sleeping anyway it prob defeats the point! Hope you manage to get some rest one way or another

I find I can nap during the day even though I don’t sleep well at night - that’s the only way I’m functioning at the moment. My lunch hour is a nap. Wfh is a godsend as I can oie in for an hour longer.
