August Due Date Crew (Thread 4)

Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

Random question, for those who measured slightly earlier than their LMP on early scans, are you going by your new due date or staying with your LMP date?

@BCxx BRAVO! Sounds like a success. I had to play a wisdom tooth infection antibiotics last night - luckily OH gor drunk enough for the both of us 🤣🤣 shattered this morning - felt fine tiredwise last night!

happy new year all!!! Into our last weeks before 12 week relief ( if even briefly!!)

@Sjw30 id stick with LMP until your 12 week - they don’t do dating scans until this point for a reason. There’s a really good post somewhere amongst these threads that explains why it’s not very accurate…something along the lines of because how tiny baby is at this point a mm can alter dates by alot and it’s hard to measure. I know on my scan she initially said 6+5 and then got a clearer image and said 7+3 (which was spot on for LMP) xx

@Sjw30 yeahhh I agree with Amme18 i’m going with my LMP - that’s what 12 week scan will be based on and i’ll wait to see if nhs want to move my due date. (My lmp one is my mums bday which would just be so cute!) I feel like all three of us that went a 6+5 all measured a few days early 🤣 wish Id waited a week!

@LMM91x ahh yes me too tbh! Are you 11th august too? (From LMP). No not yet! I have my booking appointment next week though, haven’t you heard anything yet?

nope nadaaaa - I have ‘chatted’ aith the midwife on this online portal thing and she said should have a call with midwife re booking 8-10 weeks ! I’m 8 now so it best be this week but probablt means the appt will be super last minute i’e ‘can you come in tomorrow 🙄’ Train strikes this week so would be ideal as i’m avoiding the office anyway! I’ll message them again if I still don’t hear. They send via post so I expext royal mail has caused all sorts of issues!

@LMM91x i feel like they now won’t be expecting an announcement any time soon! 🥂 Oh dear, hope your ‘wisdom tooth’ is better soon 😉

@BCxx I had to put on an elaborate story time about how i’d had it over christmas and people really did ask questions 🤣🤣 but oh well I don’t mind if there’s suspicions as long as they are not vocalised !! Dry january coming in HOT!

@Sjw30 yeah I’m just going to leave the dates in my app the same for now. I think I’m going to go back at week 9. I’m hoping I’ll be further on by then and won’t need to put my dates back 🤞🏼

@LMM91x 😂 I don’t think people actually think twice that you could maybe be pregnant and covering it up. The good thing too is our other friend’s knew we were having a few couples back for drinks so they’ll have also assumed I was drinking, killed so many birds with one stone! Was laughing at the fact I had sat with a funnel pouring non alcoholic bottles of wine into the real bottles before they came, only to have been on my own in the kitchen every time I poured my drink anyway! Did not need to go to those lengths 🙈

@BCxx hahaha god always the way! What was the wine??? Would you recommend. I really feel like pretending i’m having a glass one evening !

Happy new year all! I've got my scan at 11:30 this morning, very nervous! Sickness has hit me like a tonne of bricks this morning so not sure how I'm going to survive the 30 min journey!
Whoever was talking about salt and vinegar Pringles, thanks, they're all I've been thinking about and now I've got a full tub of them 😂 can't wait to devour them later!

@LMM91x Oh how frustrating! Yes if it’s via post there’s all kinds of delays at the moment. Hope you hear back soon.

@BCxx Ok I’ll go back to my original date. Not that it actually makes much difference at this point until the 12 week scan, just a friend told me her midwife completely disregarded any private scan information and told her to wait until 12 weeks. I’m also tempted to go back for another scan!

@BCxx I was in the same boat the other day when we met with husbands family for Xmas. SIL is currently pregnant so lots of convos on babies and got a few comments that it will be me next even though we've never expressed any interest in kids but did manage to avoid it and say no chance. So need to also try and lie low for a while 😅

@LMM91x it was the eisberg rose from tesco. The non-alcoholic drinks seem to have got way better from even 2 years ago when I was pregnant! I got Gordon’s pink gin and also the whitley neil one too and it smells exactly like the real thing, haven’t tasted either yet

@Owlgirl14 😂 you feel so proud of yourself when you manage to bat these questions away without raising suspicion

My partner got me some Whitley Neil rhubarb and ginger non alcoholic gin to have last night, I must say it smells like the real thing and I really couldn’t tell that much that it was non alcoholic!

@Sjw30 yeah I don’t think the nhs really approve of the private scans. To be fair some places could be a bit dodgy but if you’re going to a reputable one surely it’s fine. I didn’t get a second scan last time, not sure why because my heart was in my mouth again at the 12 week scan and fully expected bad news. If I get one between 9 and 10 this time that’s a much more safe place to be so I think I might not worry so much at the next one

@Sjw30 that’s the one I got! It has such an obvious smell that I thought it’s bound to taste like the real thing. The gins will be good for the summer, I survived on kopparberg any time I wanted to feel like I had a drink last time

and yes it was really nice tbh. I’m not a huge drinker anyway but it was nice to have a fake gin to toast to at midnight!

i’m not having another scan I don’t think - i’ll just wait. The actual anxiety before hand and in the lead up I don’t want to do it twice. I also think (probablt negatively) if something has gone wrong i’d rather be at the nhs hosp when i’m told so I can know my options immediately!!! Sorry so negative sometimes but that’s where my head is 🙄

@BCxx You sure do, especially when it came up twice and everyone was looking directly at me the second time!
