Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

@Sjw30 HAHAH of course I bloody don’t….i’ll be emailing again next week. I went for my bloods on Friday as they said they probably wouldn’t get me in pre 10 weeks and that both appts would likely now be ‘on top of eachother’…. Which is fine as I have to drive past maccas to get to the hosp and rude not to stop for cheese bites right🤣

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 20:17

Something I hadn’t appreciated until relatively recently is how specifically triggering scan pictures can be for some people, e.g. it can take them right back to the moment of being told there was no heartbeat. There are a few people I sent scan pictures to last time and now regret as I wasn’t 100% sure of their histories. One in particular never responded and I very much hope I didn’t upset her.

@LMM91x oh what a nightmare! Are bloods normally done before 10 weeks?
Haha cheese bites 🙌 the Christmas ones have gone now though 😭 I think there’s some new ones out that I haven’t tried yet 🤣

santastolemycat · 08/01/2023 20:22

@Createcomet
OMG! I could nap for britain!!
The other day I had two naps! 10-12 and 4-5:30 I literally can’t keep my eyes open. Don’t know how i’m gonna manage when i’m
back at work next week. It’s brutal. I don’t remember being like this last time i was pregnant.

LMM91x · 08/01/2023 20:23

@Sjw30 oh yes there’s some new garlic cheese bites which are divine!! (Went after my bloods🤣)

My MW says yes I needed these done pre 10 weeks but I did see on here it depends on area. So not everyone does it like that !!

Sjw30 · 08/01/2023 20:26

@LMM91x I’m going to have to try some now 🤣. Ahh okay, it’s so confusing that everywhere is different!

LMM91x · 08/01/2023 20:27

@Sjw30 you won’t regret it!!

overwork · 08/01/2023 20:32

Sorry to bring the conversation down to this level, but can anyone remember which product was recommended for those of us that are constipated? It's been days and my stomach is in knots.

CityKity · 08/01/2023 20:33

@SnowL2021 Im another one to admit we haven’t DTD since falling pregnant. I’ve been feeling so utterly crap it’s been totally out of the question. Now I’m on new meds and starting to feel better I feel weird about it because it’s been so long! Im close enough to the 12 week scan that we may wait till then just so we have that reassurance that it’s all cooking okay in there.

I don’t share anything on social media so won’t be sharing baby news, but I’m sure my mum will to share with wider family (which I’m fine with). Also finding it a weird thought telling people (when that comes around), I’m not really sure how to, so I think I’m unconsciously avoiding being social and seeing friends atm.
I did tell my best friend who’s been ttc (under 6 months but she’s getting very anxious about it) over the holidays which I was so nervous about. I did it in person (against all the advice online), but it just felt too impersonal to tell her over text (for our relationship at least). She took the news so well and was really apologetic that I was so nervous and that her ttc journey had made me anxious to open up to her. Obviously that could be for show, but she went on holiday with her DH a few days later so I know they have time together to process this news alone too. The four of us spend a lot of time together so throwing a baby into the mix will obviously change that dynamic. Relieved it’s done!

sally16 · 08/01/2023 20:34

Announcements wise I wasn't going to bother this time but I genuinely can't be bothered telling everyone at work separately so I'm just gonna do a quick post I think! And for our family's abroad etc.. but last time I only posted once and never again..
my friend had a late term miscarriage and she posted it on SM to bring awareness to the fact it happens so I think I'd probably follow her kinds of post if god forbid something did happen..
I'm very much 'let's crush the stigma'!
Hate when people say there isn't much to get excited about yet... yes maybe not for them.. but there is for me.. because it's in my tummy 😂

Some of my friends never posted a pregnancy announcement or birth! Just basically added photos of the new baby in normal posts and it was surprising how many people asked who the baby was 🤣🤣🤣

sally16 · 08/01/2023 20:35

Also haven't DTD since very early..
same as last pregnancy, didn't let him near me at all 😂 poor man!

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 20:43

@overwork both Lactulose and Fybogel are safe all through pregnancy and can easily be bought over the counter. How that helps.

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 20:47

@LMM91x I’ve not yet had booking bloods. At my 8 week appointment I was told it was fine to wait until after the 12 week scan when all was confirmed to be well.

What pregnancy vitamins is everyone taking? I've just got the boots ones which are massive!!! But last time I got them free from drs and they were tiny!

Struggling to swallow the massive boots ones 😂

overwork · 08/01/2023 20:48

Thanks @AnnieApple123 I'll pop to the chemist tomorrow- I appreciate your help

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 20:48

@sally16 I’m taking Cytoplan’s Pregna-Plsn which I’m liking. They’re high quality but also reasonably priced.

OP posts:
Sjw30 · 08/01/2023 20:49

Pregnacare @sally16 they are quite big though if you struggle with tablets

LMM91x · 08/01/2023 21:00

@sally16 i’m taking pregnacare too which are huge but boots do a folic acid and vit d combo which is tiny (i took them when TTC) xx

sally16 · 08/01/2023 21:13

I have separate folic acid from midwife and was told just any pregnancy tablets but I can't get over the size 😂 if pregancare are big too I'll just stick with boots :/ they had the exact same ingredients side by side for like £3 😅

I'm not used to paying for tablets, I'm in Scotland 🤣

sally16 · 08/01/2023 21:14

@AnnieApple123 oh I'll keep an eyes out!

BoodifulGoose · 08/01/2023 21:26

I'm not a regular social media user any more, and have recently got irritated at the lack of involvement of people I thought I was important to in my life since I stopped using it (if I don't reach out they don't, seems like out of sight out of mind with people I thought would be around forever) so I won't be doing an announcement but am well overdue a profile photo update, so will probably just update at some point when I'm showing quite a bit, as my profile photos are almost like a time capsule for me so would be weird not having a pregnant me in them. (Got my first photo with fiance when we were 16, first when we moved out, first in new house, first engaged etc.) and if anyone wants to comment they can but I won't be posting a caption with it.

BoodifulGoose · 08/01/2023 21:30

In regards to DTD, we'd been regularly doing it until I found out at 5 weeks, I got a bit freaked out and we didn't for 2 weeks, but since have many times (11 weeks yesterday), On the rare occasions I've been able to keep nausea at bay of an evening 😂 and it's been absolutely fine.

Mild cramping, but never any blood or anything that's caused me concern at all. Understand it's totally personal but just incase hearing that helps anyone who's wanting too but is scared.

Amme18 · 08/01/2023 21:32

Can’t tag as too many messages I’ve caught up on 🤣

I didn’t announce last time, I think I posted a pic where I had a bump that was obvious which obviously got comments 😅 but no big announcement.

maccys cheese bites.. garlic ones my least fave! Love the nacho ones 🤤 and Burger King chilli cheese bites!

I got told booking bloods needed doing before 10 weeks but a few days would hurt (my app was 10+1) Although NHS has dated me 10+2 but with the same due date 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also not done the deed here either, have felt so miserable with symptoms. Although started to ease the last couple of days, seem to be able to get on top of the nausea a bit better, still randomly sick but it passes. Feel the same as whoever said may as well wait til 12 weeks now. My poor other half, although don’t feel that sorry for him as he’s not vomited for over a month.

LMM91x · 08/01/2023 21:35

@Amme18 ong BK CHILLI CHEESE BITES ARE TOP TIER! I must get some soon….!
