Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

When did everybody's symptoms start?

I'm 7+5 and I currently don't have any.

Although there was a heartbeat on my scan on Tuesday the constant spotting and lack of symptoms is driving my anxiety through the roof!

I usually start being sick about 2 days after conceiving. This has happened in all 4 of my pregnancies now...including the 2 with early losses 🤢 But, that is (from what I can tell) definitely not the norm!

I can totally understand why you're feeling anxious. But, the fact that you've seen the heartbeat recently is really reassuring! I've got every symptom under the sun, and I'm still a bit worried whether it's okay. I haven't had a scan, literally anything could be happening in there 🙈 I def understand that a lack of symptoms makes you worry, especially combined with spotting, but I'd say if you've seen the heartbeat and the spotting isn't a very recent development (I.e post scan) then baby is probably fine. He/she is just enjoying making you worry 🙈

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 08:16

@LMM91x very true. I am sure I will be moaning about it if it happened to start as well.

I think it is just because of all the constant spotting that it makes me worry even more. If it wasn't for that I would probably be feeling very smug 😂

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 08:17

Thank you @Createcomet sorry you have been feeling the opposite with all the symptoms 😭

LMM91x · 08/01/2023 08:18

@MinnieFirstTimeMum oh yes of course and that’s always going to be a worry but as @Createcomet said above you have so much positive to focus on and i’m sure you’ve been told spotting is common. I know it’s hard and this won’t make the anxiety go away but hopefully a little comfort xxxx. And for your sanity I hope you get very sick later 🤣

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 08:33

@LMM91x hahah thank you 😂

And thank you all for your reassurance 🥰

MidnightSunshine12 · 08/01/2023 09:24

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I am 11 weeks today and also have very few symptoms. I had a scan at 8 weeks and everything was fine (after I'd had some spotting), and had a few days of very mild nausea last month but my symptoms (apart from sore boobs and exhaustion) have really dropped off a cliff the last few weeks.

I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday (annoyingly early at 11+3) so am looking forward to hopefully being reassured again and starting to enjoy this pregnancy!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 09:44

@MidnightSunshine12 thank you.

I had some exhaustion at about 5 weeks but that failed off at around 6 weeks and nothing at all since then. Not even the tender boobs 🙄

I hope your scan goes well 🤞🏻

Mine isn't until February so I guess I need to find a way to distract myself until then.

sally16 · 08/01/2023 09:59

@MinnieFirstTimeMum my first pregnancy I used to forget I was even pregnant I had such little symptoms 🤣 even had to set a reminder on my phone for my scan 😂

This time I've been hit with everything 😭

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 10:06

@sally16 Oh no sorry you are getting it rough this time.

I think if I didn't have the constant red spotting I would be a bit more chill with it, just anxiety everytime I go for a wee 😂

But by the sounds of it every pregnancy is different so I will just keep my fingers crossed.

I hope your symptoms ease up on you a little 🥰

sally16 · 08/01/2023 10:19

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I didn't realise how different it was for everyone either and got a bit panicky one I joined MN.. didn't know anything about chemicals, MMC etc either so was glad I didn't know before my scan otherwise I think I would have been a wreck!

I am glad I know now though.. almost able to try and prepare opposed to it being the unknown!
Hopefully your spotting stops! That must be so stressful!

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 10:24

That does sound very stressful @MinnieFirstTimeMum . Not surprised you feel as you do. I’ve just had two episodes of spotting and nothing for over two week now. Yet still I get quite fearful every time I go for a wee.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 10:26

@AnnieApple123 Who knew going for a wee would become so stressful 😂
These first 12 weeks are like a rollercoaster... all being well and I get to 12 weeks I hope it gets easier 🥰

ChloeN · 08/01/2023 11:43

For anyone not on the Facebook group I’ve had my scan, measuring at 10w4d and everything looks perfect🥹 never thought I’d get to this point so I’m over the moon!

VickiGo · 08/01/2023 11:44

@ChloeN congratulations 🥰 so lovely to read x

sally16 · 08/01/2023 11:44

@ChloeN congratulations!! I'm so jealous! Got another week to wait 😅

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 11:47

Congratulations @ChloeN 🥰

BCxx · 08/01/2023 11:49

@MinnieFirstTimeMum i was sure I was getting off symptom-free last time but just after 8 weeks it kicked off. I remember it was bad at 9 weeks and looking back I say it stopped at 12 weeks but I did still throw up once or twice after the scan then I think from maybe 13 and a half weeks on I was totally fine. I just can’t wait to get to that point this time. I’m 8 weeks tomorrow and feel the fear 😩😂 I’ve gagged a lot in the last few weeks, especially before I eat breakfast but only actually been sick once and some days I don’t feel sick at all which worries me but reminding myself that last time I had nothing at this point

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 11:51

Wonderful news @ChloeN ! I’m similar to you and haven’t been keen to have a scan so far. I’ve got one booked for next Monday when I’ll be 12 weeks exactly, yet already I’m wanting to procrastinate and am thinking about making it later…

BCxx · 08/01/2023 11:52

@ChloeN congrats on the scan! Great news and not long to wait now!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2023 12:19

Thank you @BCxx 🥰

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 12:22

Those who’ve been pregnant before, can you remember when you started to show?

It was obvious to me from around 15 weeks last time, although not really to others until a while later unless they were specifically looking. I’ll be 11 weeks tomorrow though and am convinced after taking a shower just now that I’m starting to show already. Hence I’m having the twins panic again.

ChloeN · 08/01/2023 13:15

Thanks ladies🥰

@AnnieApple123 it’s really hard to work yourself up to it, I woke up so early this morning in a panic and I was so anxious beforehand! I’ll be thinking of you next Monday ☺️

I'm 6'2" and quiet broad, I didn't even need maternity clothes until about 25 weeks last time... I remember my MIL commented that I was starting to get a bump at 18 weeks ish, but honestly it was only because she knew I was pregnant, if that makes sense?

Flash forward to now, I'm standing in the kitchen looking at a very pregnant looking tummy and I'm 9 weeks 😭 it does depend on the day though, some days my tummy looks totally normal, others I look pregnant!

AnnieApple123 · 08/01/2023 13:33

Thanks @ChloeN . Twice I’ve had scans booked but have cancelled them. I wouldn’t seriously consider not having a 12 week scan though so can’t really procrastinate much longer now…

I had my booking app today - took about an hour so not too long! Consultant led care as my dad has diabetes, was the same last time though because of it. Just means a diabetes test again which are so boring!
