Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

OP posts:

IvyAndOlives · 06/01/2023 22:12

@mamabeeboo glad your scan went well! Wow twins!
I had mine today and so pleased to see a lovely strong heartbeat (just one baby!) Due date is estimated to be 17th August

Sounds like there's a lot of us with nausea. Ginger biscuits are a godsend for me at the moment, and plain Crackers.

Would anyone be interested in setting up a private Facebook group for us august due dates?

sally16 · 06/01/2023 22:13

@BCxx a silver cross wave 2019 (excellent double pram and single! Miss using it already 😅)

But also.. by august DS might refuse to sit in one anyway haha! I'm just getting flappy Incase we also end up with twins and I need another pram too 😂

BCxx · 06/01/2023 22:14

@Amme18 bizarrely I haven’t had custard in years but walked past it in an aisle at the shops the other day and actually stood and thought about it then just had to buy it! 😂 It’s actually so good when you think about it, needs to be warm!

BCxx · 06/01/2023 22:16

@sally16 aw I loved that! I was a total pram geek last time so feel like I could just about work in a pram shop 😂 I very nearly got the wave but didn’t in the end up and now wishing I had so I could have the double option for a while. He’ll be exactly 2 and we walk quite far so there’s no way he’ll walk every time but even just for 6 months or so it would have been good to have the option! I think you’ll be able to get a seat or if you email silver cross they’re actually really helpful. We have a silver cross crib and lost a crucial bit moving house. I emailed explaining and they sent another one out. I’m not saying they’ll send you a free seat but they’ll maybe be able to help 🙈

mamabeeboo · 06/01/2023 22:16

Thank you all! ❤️💕
Yes really exited but also nervous. Just want it all to go well. I think I'm now due very early Aug, as twins come earlier.
Strong heartbeats for both.
The husband has passed out in shock 😂

sally16 · 06/01/2023 22:19

@BCxx silver cross said 'you'll need to source one from a shop that stocks old parts or we can give you 10% off a new travel system'
And when I asked about ordering a new cot side as my son had chewed the top 🤣 they said 'it's a 14 week wait..' I was like he's not gonna be using the cot side in 14 weeks 😂

I've not had a great experience so far haha! But I love the pram so I might need to email every stockist I can and hope for the best 😅

The only thing it's bloody heavy! And takes up so much space but it's so beautiful 😅 and the carry cot is sleep safe so we used it for naps daily haha!

sally16 · 06/01/2023 22:21

@mamabeeboo one of my scans looks like there is something hiding.. and my partner is surprisingly very excited to find out if it's 2..
but I think/hoping it was just a bit of fuzz.. shall find out next Sunday if I'm joining you 🤣

BCxx · 06/01/2023 22:33

@sally16 oh how generous of them 🙄 omg he has chewed the cot too!! Why isn’t the top bit more sturdy? He literally chewed it when he was only just big enough to stand up, I don’t think he even had teeth. I’ve just left it like that and always fold a blanket over it during the day to hide the big missing bits! I might order a new side then get the plastic covers (that I found after it had happened) to put over it before the new baby does the same again.

The weight was the only downside of the wave it seems but it’s so beautiful! There are a lot of places online now that I see popping up all the time as ads, they buy old prams, clean them up and sell them so somewhere like that would be bound to have one surely

Amme18 · 06/01/2023 22:49

Ah mine came with the plastic bits on top for chewing! Cot got absolutely wrecked though, my little boy had a thing on his face that would randomly burst and bleed and wouldn’t stop…and a white cot 🤦🏻‍♀️ All sorted now and it’s gone but was a nightmare for a while.

@IvyAndOlives there is a fb group! But I don’t know how to send the link. It’s in these threads multiple times but not sure how far back! If you search August Buns on Facebook that’s the group though - it’s private so only people in the group can see you in there ☺️

@BCxx HAS to be hot! Haven’t had it that much but just always fancy it 🤣

BoodifulGoose · 06/01/2023 22:54

@Owlgirl14 heya! Thanks for that explanation, was more than my midwife gave and totally makes sense! Cause it didn't feel anxiety related, especially as it's every single time no matter what my mental state is!

sally16 · 06/01/2023 22:59

@BCxx omg is your child a feral cot chewer too 😂 I don't understand why they didn't have chew guards! The new ones do!
Well it turns out you can just turn it round so the chewed button is at the bottom and it still fits 🥳 so that's our plan haha!

Ohh that's an amazing idea!! They might sell as spares!

sally16 · 06/01/2023 23:05

@BCxx I was put off the Plastic ones as they don't actually fit our cot.. so we would have to glue them and if made me nervous, DS is wreck it Ralph jr so I was convinced he would have them off in no time 🤣

PumpkinEverything · 06/01/2023 23:52

@IvyAndOlives here’s the fb link 😊 and for anyone else wanting to join!

CityKity · 07/01/2023 00:00

@mamabeeboo ahhhhh twins!! Congratulations how exciting. So funny that you were worried about lack of symptoms and then boom two babies! Are there a history of twins in the family?!

@AnnieApple123 I think my usual cravings (pre-pregnancy) are so typical pregnancy ones that I haven’t noticed much change! I’ve been gorging on pickled anything, sour fruits and that’s about it really. I’m starving and then as soon as I start eating I feel stuffed, so trying to get in more smaller meals.

OBeatrix · 07/01/2023 01:48

Hi all,

I would like to join this group please.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with baby no.6 and my edd is 15th August. Wishing you all happy and smooth pregnancies. Roll on August 💜

blondebanana · 07/01/2023 02:22

Looks like this is the end for me - I'm overnight in A&E with a suspected ectopic... please send prayers if that's your thing. It's quite painful and scary. I wish you all the best and good luck ❤️

CityKity · 07/01/2023 03:31

I’m up with insomnia (joy) @blondebanana I’m so so sorry you’re in A&E. Sending so much love and hope your way for a positive outcome and minimal pain. I haven’t been so active on this thread recently, has this come out of the blue? Please keep us posted so we know you’re doing okay ❤️

blondebanana · 07/01/2023 03:44

@CityKity thank you.. yes it is rather out of the blue... just quite scary and shocking. Plus the nausea still won't give me a break. I hope all is well with you ❤️

VickiGo · 07/01/2023 03:47

@blondebanana so sorry to hear this, thinking of you ❤️

BMK · 07/01/2023 03:52

@blondebanana is it suspected by you or suspected by the Aand E?? I'm so sorry to hear this. I would have thought ectopic pain was different and discernible before 6/7 weeks. I felt sick as you and had a scan in case it was ectopic and to hear you say you're there with query ectopic is really awful, my heart goes out to you..is there any chance it's ok or has a scan shown up sth concerning? This is so awful for you. I hope you have someone with you

blondebanana · 07/01/2023 03:55

@BMK thank you❤️ it was a pregnancy of unknown location on my early scan so either missed miscarriage or ectopic. Was sent home to come back for more blood tests in 48 hours but got excruciating pain down one side and cramping and was told to come to A&E... where they think it's ectopic so keeping me in. X

BMK · 07/01/2023 04:23

Oh my goodness, I'm so so sad for you. That is the most upsetting news. Not just the ectopic but ectopic at this stage- so late- and after all the sickness.. However the main thing is that you are getting cared for as ectopic as we know can be dangerous on your own. I actually just realised that the one I had was actually also at over 6 weeks ,except I had no other symptoms and it came on all of a sudden at night and I thought a few times I would pass out and there was blood and em diarrohea and vomiting interchangeably and the pain.......I didn’t go to a hospital as well I didn't realise what it was until after and then I was ok but it may have been otherwise so I'm v glad you're in safe hands. Obviously hoping it's not but you being minded is actually the most important thing.

UsernameNotPresent · 07/01/2023 04:33

@blondebanana I am so sorry to read this. Please stay strong. You are in the right place and they will look after you. Big hug your way.

marleyandme · 07/01/2023 07:32

@blondebanana I'm sorry you're going through that. Glad you're in the right place and they're hopefully looking after you.
Be gentle with yourself and let us know how you get on. I hope you managed some sleep

BusyBushBaby · 07/01/2023 07:41

@blondebanana so sorry you're going through something so painful, scary and disappointing. Hope you're ok.

@mamabeeboo congrats on twins! How do you feel about double trouble?
