August Due Date Crew (Thread 4)

Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

@Sjw30 aw that’s good! I was 6+5 at my early one too, going again at 9 and a half, really hoping for a week added on now 😂 if only they could add on 30 something!

@LS888 we got married in the summer and I haven’t got round to doing the wedding photos yet either! Same with changing my name. I’ve changed it at the doctors so that when I went to the hospital my name was right but still to do my driving license etc and I think you’re supposed to change it on that asap 🙈 It must be a teacher thing! there’s never a time you can phone up places either when you’re at work and have a class there.

Hope the blood tests went okay. I’m not a huge fan of needles, I always just really look away. I think it’s the initial pinch that I always hate, once it’s actually happening it’s fine and you can feel proud of yourself after 😊

@Sjw30 So glad all is OK. Whenever I see your name I think St. John’s Wood -but I’m sure that’s not what it means!

@BCxx so weird isn't it! I had it taken at my booking appt and she didn't seem worried, also then at another Dr app just before Christmas and it was a little high but it does tend to run high as I am a very anxious person, however, this doesn't feel like anxiety!

I asked about it at the booking appt and she suggested it was hormones (?). I am used to anxiety symptoms but this really doesn't feel like it, but every time without fail be it 10 min nap or 7 hour sleep it races!

@BCxx as a teacher I never had any time to see the doctors or go to the post office! So I’m finally getting around to all those things. I haven’t done my driving license either as you couldn’t do your name and address at the same time online you had to fill in a paper form and I just haven’t got round to it!

My bloods were taken fine today at the GPs - which was such a relief! She also gave me my flu vaccine. I was going to book an appointment but she said she would do it there and then. I’m so glad I didn’t have time to think about it as normally as it plays on my mind before a vaccine. I’m not sure about the Covid booster yet. Has anyone else had it?

@BoodifulGoose Hi there, I also get the racing heart and feeling hot but upon waking during the night. I have for sometime though after a virus and am on beta blockers for it.

However it was under control but I have noticed it happened a few times recently upon waking in the night, so I think hormones and the extra volume of blood may cause it.

I also read that you can get palpitations as well during pregnancy.

How are cravings for everyone? I’ve mainly just been wanting tea and soup this week, yet this evening I’m suddenly desperate for a Virgin Mary. The spicier the better!

I've just spent all day trying to find the tandem seat for my pram... which is somehow gone and none online to buy anymore 😭😭😭
I'm gonna need to leash my toddler 😂
I'm not buying another pram since this one was bloody £1200 in 2019 :(

@AnnieApple123 I don’t really have any strong cravings yet! Though I have been fancying chocolate milkshake. Mostly I’m a bottomless pit and don’t want anything in particular, just anything that’s available 🤣

@LMM91x it was a rough few days just after Christmas when there wasn’t a lot of food in the house 🤣I HAD to go to McDonald’s for some cheese bites 🤷‍♀️

Cravings wise - ready salted crisps (moved on from s+v Pringles), fresh juice, pudding and custard 🤷🏻‍♀️ So still super healthy cravings 🙄

@LS888 it feels like such a treat 😂 I had friends who work full time but work from home most of the time and when I was on mat leave I’d see them out a walk and just think they were sooo lucky for having the freedom to do that 🙈 There is zero flexibility with teaching. My friend couldn’t go to her uncles funeral down south the other week because she was told they didn’t have the staff, it’s nuts!

I didn’t get the covid one but know lots of people did. I got the flu one at 4 weeks and it turned out I actually had covid at the time but didn’t find out for another few days when I felt ill and thought it was from the flu jag but it was actually covid 🙄 so hoping that gives me some sort of lasting immunity!

@mamabeeboo so excited to see this! Amazing! 🎉 Were they both okay? Could they tell from the scan if they’re identical or if they’ll be the same genders or not, I have no idea about all the terms but know there’s one type of twins where they’re guaranteed to be the same gender

@BoodifulGoose aw that’s so weird isn’t it, I’m an anxious person too so I totally get the racing heart feeling. I get random panic attacks sometimes and I’m now so aware of my heart going fast whereas before I’d never really thought about it! it must be some sort of blood pressure/added volume thing then you’d think

@sally16 aw no! What type of pram have you got? You might be able to get it on eBay or Facebook marketplace? It might turn up by august 🙈🤞🏼
