Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

@BusyBushBaby I’m so sorry to hear that Baby 2 was lost, but relieved on your behalf that Baby 1 is doing so well. Is there any medical management needed at this point? What a tough start to pregnancy, I hope the rest is smooth sailing for you 🤞

LMM91x · 05/01/2023 12:47

I’ve only gone and missed the midwifes call 🤣 after weeks of waiting !!! And when you call back it’s like nope! I don’t want to ring any urgent number as obviously not an emergency but omg its so annoying!!!! Hope they call back today

LMM91x · 05/01/2023 12:48

@BusyBushBaby sorry to hear your news but glad to hear baby 1 is doing so well💕

PumpkinEverything · 05/01/2023 13:03

So sorry to hear that @BusyBushBaby. I’m so glad to hear that baby 1 sounds like they’re doing really well. I hope you’re okay ♥️

AnnieApple123 · 05/01/2023 13:07

Oh so frustrating @LMM91x . I’ve done things like that before too.

@AnnieApple123 just so annoying. She did call back though just now phew! They have massive backlog apparently (should this be a worry….?!) anyway I need to go for booking in bloods before 10 weeks (nearly 9 by LMP) and then I will do booking appt seperately. I think there’s something about pre 10 week bloods? Not sure what ! But yes at least a little bit of movement I guess!

sally16 · 05/01/2023 13:12

Pancakes have curbed my nausea today 🥳

sally16 · 05/01/2023 13:17

@LMM91x the bloods before 10 weeks are just certain areas, so don't stress too much :)
I asked last time and they said it's not needed until first scan and they took so many tubes 🤣 xx

buttercupbee · 05/01/2023 13:18

Just catching up on here as I was really busy over Christmas and then I’ve been full of cold since new year! Hope everyone is doing ok.

@BusyBushBaby so sorry to hear about baby 2, but pleased to hear baby 1 is growing well. I hope you’re ok xx

I know it was a few days ago people were discussing it but I’ve also been worrying about my symptoms not being as strong as they were. I’m 9+1 and the nausea I did have has completely gone now! Still feeling tired and have sore boobs but the lack of nausea worries me. Just trying to reassure myself that every pregnancy is different. My mum didn’t suffer much with nausea/sickness in either of her pregnancies so maybe I’m just lucky. It’s going to be an anxious wait until my scan on 27th though!

On a positive note I had a call to say all my bloods came back normal. Had to have them taken twice as there was an issue with the first sample, which for someone who hates needles was not the best news! Although I have to say I am getting better with needles, the midwife said if anything will cure your phobia it’s pregnancy!!

Sjw30 · 05/01/2023 13:28

So sorry to hear @BusyBushBaby but relieved that baby 1 is doing well 💗.

kookyelephant · 05/01/2023 13:54

I'm sadly going to leave the group, this just wasn't my time 💔

Wishing everyone a healthy happy pregnancy & birth 💕💕

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 05/01/2023 14:09

So sorry to hear @BusyBushBaby, glad baby 1 is doing well though 🥰

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 05/01/2023 14:10

So sorry @kookyelephant. I hope your time comes soon

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 05/01/2023 14:13

I'm so nervous that something isn't right because I haven't had any nausea at all... is anybody else in the same boat?
Although I've had early scans because of always spotting they only reassure me that the spotting is 'normal' whilst I am there.

Then I just constantly think how can I trust the next lot of spotting is also normal and not something new!?

What a minefield!

AnnieApple123 · 05/01/2023 14:35

So sorry to hear this @kookyelephant . I hope your time comes soon too.

Sjw30 · 05/01/2023 14:55

@kookyelephant I’m so sorry 💗

@MinnieFirstTimeMum Yes I understand how you feel. Mine disappeared around the 6 week mark but I had a private scan and it reassured me for a few days then I felt quite nervous again because aside from being tired and sore boobs I didn’t really feel pregnant. The nausea has come back the past few days but it really is a minefield.

AnnieApple123 · 05/01/2023 15:05

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I had zero nausea all through with my DS who is now 2.5. I’m quite wishing now that that was the case this time too!

I’ve also had two lots of spotting so sympathise with the worry.

OP posts:
MinnieFirstTimeMum · 05/01/2023 15:11

@Sjw30 it sure is a minefield. I suspect our hormone play a part in the anxiety too at this stage.

@AnnieApple123 that is reassuring - thank you 😊

UsernameNotPresent · 05/01/2023 16:50

@kookyelephant I am really sorry, please look after yourself.

Told work today, and it went better than expected. Let's see how the next 7 months will go. I will need to go through interviews whilst approx 20 weeks pregnant. Anyone has tips for that?!

somuchtolearnabout · 05/01/2023 16:58

@MinnieFirstTimeMum With the risk of sounding like a broken record, I had NO symptoms with either of my first children. Literally none, until 20ish weeks when I got terrible heartburn with both of them. No nausea, no sore boobs, no sickness / food aversions. Nothing. For me at least, it's definitely nothing to worry about.

BCxx · 05/01/2023 17:17

@BusyBushBaby aw sorry it wasn’t better news 😞 I’m sure you have been dreading it coming so much that you may be able to process it a bit more now. Thinking of you, hope you’re doing okay x

@kookyelephant so sorry x

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 05/01/2023 17:20

@somuchtolearnabout thank you, that is really reassuring ❤️

DesertSnow · 05/01/2023 17:32

@kookyelephant so sorry, really hoping it's your time soon. Take care of yourself.

@BusyBushBaby so sorry about Twin 2, but wonderful news about Twin 1. I imagine it's a lot to process, hope you're being kind to yourself.

There's been a lot of talk about symptoms easing off - can I ask if anyone has had the reverse? My sickness and fatigue are getting worse every day, and my boobs are getting more painful. Is this normal? I'm 10+5 today and really really struggling to cope. I feel awful every waking second, it just doesn't seem to ease up. It feels awful to say but I can't feel excited or anything as I just feel so miserable because of feeling so unwell.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

BMK · 05/01/2023 17:51

Helloo all. Just a note to the 6w 5d lady who has been sick for the last week: that was me for all week 6 and week 7 and then I got miraculous reprieve and it's now variable but much, much better: some days it's not great for a portion and other days low grade all day -or for a greater amount of a day,but definitely improving.

I had none of this with my 2 boys so I'm thus predicting a girl(re the difference),but might be wrong. It was so bad that I thought it must be an ectopic or sth else unusual but scan at 6,6 said all perfect...(and only 1,but interesting re the post about the 'new' twin at 13wks!)

I would be most delighted to say bye to all symptoms please but they're not all gone and in fact feel my abdomen increasing/slightly uncomfortable and only 9+5 ..

It's so good to be able to function minus debilitating nausea!

AnnieApple123 · 05/01/2023 18:09

@DesertSnow Yes, me! Having had zero symptoms in my last pregnancy, I thought I was going to get away with it this time too until just before 9 weeks. I’m now 10.5 weeks and it seems to be getting worse. Hope it eases soon for both of us as we’re getting so close to the 12 week mark now.
