Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

OP posts:

@ChloeN NADA !!! am I even pregnant or is this a dream?? 🤣🤣🤣 I defo have an acknowledgement email so I definately did refer….. i’ve quadruple checked that!

LMM91x · 02/01/2023 10:57

@BCxx i’ve just hit about 8 weeks and it seems to have amped up too…. Christ just in time to go back to work !!!! 🙄🙄🙄👎👎👎

overwork · 02/01/2023 14:49

Oh @Amme18 what an awful time you've had of it. Hope this little one brings a smile to everyone's faces when you tell them.
I've just tested positive for Covid (I thought it was just a horrible cold), but actually enjoying the excuse to lie in bed for an extra day or two. And eat a whole chocolate orange, because I've heard that will help with my recovery

sally16 · 02/01/2023 15:15

@overwork I ate a ridiculous amount of chocolate with covid 😂 everyone else lost there sense of taste and lost weight but I gained 🤣

overwork · 02/01/2023 15:28

Oh @sally16 I'm glad it's not just me! I could do with loosing a few pounds, or atleast some of this pregnancy bloat. But sadly Covid is having no effect on my appetite whatsoever. Also just noticed that we can eat well cooked Brie which has made my day! My partner will be making me a courgette and left over Xmas Brie gratin for tea!

sally16 · 02/01/2023 15:40

@overwork omg what a dinner!! We're maybe having steak pie if I can face the smell 😅

I've just had my partner move all my sons toys into his kallax unit in his bedroom.. so I can lie in bed with the doors open and watch him from here... so I don't need to 100% parent.. winning!

ChloeN · 02/01/2023 15:43

@sally16 im really struggling with gravy type dinners atm, or anything with a lot of sauce for some reason 🤣

Createcomet · 02/01/2023 15:45

blondebanana · 02/01/2023 09:24

@BoodifulGoose I'm not enjoying it either tbh. I hate not being able to do anything because of the exhaustion and nausea - especially on a beautiful crisp sunny day like today when I want to be out hiking and walking the dog!

I totally agree with this! I wish I could go for a run. I'm so over having no energy at all 😭 been for a walk around town today and then lunch out and now I feel absolutely shattered....and a bit sick 🤦‍♀️ struggling to stay awake! First day solo parenting since mid December tomorrow, then work on Wed. God help me 😭🤦‍♀️

Sjw30 · 02/01/2023 15:46

Still having a lot of cramping since being on shift last night. Not sure what to do!

ChloeN · 02/01/2023 15:50

@Sjw30 Are you really active at work or do you think you’re run down and tired? X

blondebanana · 02/01/2023 15:53

@ChloeN ME TOO!!! The thought of gravy or anything with sauce is so vile to me - I just gagged writing this.

@Createcomet it's awful isn't it. I really wanted to stay as fit and healthy as possible during pregnancy but it's impossible to get out at the mo. We must keep hydrated! Good luck with solo parenting and work...! The train strikes have hit on the best week for me so I'm working from home this week. Dreading the London commute the week after...

Yes, same but finding it so hard to get out and exercise. Even a short walk drains me. I'm gutted to be honest. It doesn't feel good to be struggling with a walk when I know I can run a fair distance.

I'm glad that the trains strikes have worked out well for you! That's a bonus! Fingers crossed we can be a bit more active soon...because I'm feeling a bit miserable now 🙄

ChloeN · 02/01/2023 16:02

@blondebanana isnt it so weird 🤣🤣 I don’t know what my issue with is it but I just can’t cope, we’re having a roast at my mums tonight so god knows what I’ll eat, I had hardly any Christmas dinner I only ate the sausages 😂

sally16 · 02/01/2023 16:04

@Sjw30 maybe worth phoning EPU? Our unit were so nice! Especially with cramps and worry's! Xxx

sally16 · 02/01/2023 16:05

@ChloeN I just can't deal with the smell or the thought of meat... so I'm having some icecream 😅

Sjw30 · 02/01/2023 16:09

@ChloeN Quite active yes. But possibly also run down and stressed.

@sally16 Ive tried but no one answered 😞

sally16 · 02/01/2023 16:11

@Sjw30 have you been allocated a community midwife yet? Xx

Sjw30 · 02/01/2023 16:15

@sally16 Not yet so don’t have any contact numbers or a team to contact.
I’m also possibly over thinking, a bit anxious.

ChloeN · 02/01/2023 16:18

@Sjw30 I got really stressed one day and cramps then started to add to the stress, after I calmed down they eased. Sounds like a combination of things for you 😢 Try epu again in the morning my local one doesn’t do bank holidays xx

LMM91x · 02/01/2023 16:19

@blondebanana i am with you with the commute dread …. How long is yours??? Thank you train drivers for these strikes so another week of avoiding it !!! I’m so worried but know i’m gonna then over think it and make it worse! Just gonna sit near the loo and sit IN the loo the whole journey if necessary …. Then its actually being in the office with this nausea and wretching in a not so private bathroom!

Sjw30 · 02/01/2023 16:19

I will do thank you @ChloeN

LMM91x · 02/01/2023 16:20

@Sjw30 i’ve had moderate cramps on and off - especially after exersion and being on my feet but I really think its normal things moving around down there. I had one that made me wince and then was dreading going to the loo but nothing more xxx hope yours subside, hot water bottle should help xx

Cat1424 · 02/01/2023 16:22

Hello,

Had my early scan this morning, saw a strong heartbeat which had made me feel a million times better, with everything in the right place and looking good. However they have said I’m only 6 + 4, but according to LMP I’m 8+2. I had a look at the CRL measurements on line and they would suggest im pretty much 7 weeks so im a bit confused on what dates I should be going off now? I don’t know date or conception 😂

Sjw30 · 02/01/2023 16:31

Thank you @LMM91x xx

sally16 · 02/01/2023 16:33

@Cat1424 remember dates are mostly a query right now! They can drastically change at 12 weeks that's why the NHS don't like to date before then :)
I was told at 10 weeks last time I was 9 weeks.. and I was like hmm.. I'm not because I only did the deed once that month 😅
At 13 weeks I was bang on track!
Ive had 2 scans so far, 6 and 8 weeks for heartbeat checks more than anything and I haven't noted the dates, purely because I'd book privates ones for daily, and I didn't want an internal so they were struggling to measure.. gotta try and enjoy the little heartbeats at this stage and look forward to the next scan 💙💙💙
