After a long time ttc and having surgeries to repair my insides I've been given the go ahead to continue ttc again.

Trying desperately not to get my hopes up and to be realistic (whilst still making threads like this! 🤦🏾‍♀️) I don't want to symptom spot but finding it hard not to!

What were your earliest/first signs of pregnancy?

I've never even had a sniff of a positive test so I've no idea what to expect and when!

Really emotional, crying at silly things.
Dark nipples and high cervix - was using pessaries for IVF and noticed cervix was higher

SeasonsBleatings · 28/12/2022 22:40

With my second I suddenly went off coffee then found myself pouring white wine vinegar into rice. I can only presume there was something in that my body needed!

Greybutterfly · 28/12/2022 23:07

First was extreme exhaustion. I had to take a nap during the working day and was worried something was wrong.

Yes, me too - was absolutely exhausted for no reason (or so I thought!) Bear

judelaw · 28/12/2022 23:12

@Greybutterfly

That's exactly how I've been! I've had to take quite a few naps over the past few days which is so unlike me. I did put it down to Christmas but it isn't like we've been busy at all!

That and headaches, cramps and gum/toothache... did have a weird food craving for tuna too (normally would avoid tuna). But I would be only 7-9dpo so I really could be building this up :(

Thank you everyone - so interesting seeing the range of symptoms!

Sadly I do feel like I'm clutching at straws a bit. Buuuuuuut I am only about 7-9dpo......... am I being stupid?! 😂

Not too early. From about this point (7-9DPO) I started getting strong cramps. But I also got pre-period cramps from about the same kind of time on non-pregnant months, so it was hard to tell the difference. It was only in my two subsequent pregnancies that I felt the cramps from about the same time and immediately recognised them as different types of cramping and KNEW I was pregnant.
Exhaustion set in about a week later for me.

pinkpotatoez · 28/12/2022 23:51

For me it was period pains but constant and then no period arrived. After that it was gagging over strong smells

mel787 · 28/12/2022 23:53

Mine was light pink spotting a week after conceiving. Happened with all 3.

judelaw · 28/12/2022 23:54

@fatsocatso

Ooh ok - there's hope yet then!

I do often get pre period cramps too but not usually at this time. I had a particular cramp a couple of nights ago that was so sharp - not like my usual twinges. Normally the pre period cramps are just small twinges - these have been slightly stronger I think..

My exhaustion hasn't been too bad today - I am still tired but I've not fallen asleep yet. Ive found in the mornings I'm impossible to wake up though..

Breathlessness. With each pregnancy I would be out of breath walking very short distances that normally wouldn't he a problem. It's actually what made me realise I was pregnant with DC3. That and very veiny, painful boobs.

Todaynotalways · 28/12/2022 23:55

MrNook · 28/12/2022 21:10

Mine were my "super nose" that seemed like I could smell everything within a 10 mile radius and really painful boobs

Same, I could suddenly smell the fried chicken shop from across the park. And we're taking about a 120 acre park...

Catdaft · 28/12/2022 23:58

Just felt like pms until a missed period and then a BFP. No actual symptoms until week 6

notangelinajolie · 29/12/2022 00:02

Sore nips was first symptom for all of my 3 pregnancies.
And then followed by a missed period.

AriettyHomily · 29/12/2022 00:04

Wanting to wee all the time but no wee

Elerandooo · 29/12/2022 00:07

Incredibly emotional. I was travelling for work and found myself in tears driving between appointments- nothing in particular would set me off.

That and the most painful boobs, the slightest touch or like a shirt brushing over them was agony!

Milkand2sugarsplease · 29/12/2022 00:37

Tiredness like I've never felt before for my second dc. Absolutely dog tired all evening.

Then felt really ropey from lunchtime to bedtime from 6-16 weeks.

Eughhh, it was horrid.

Poundofflesh · 29/12/2022 13:23

Going off hot drinks seems to be a common one! I did too very early, I forgot that one. It’s definitely not too early OP but could you maybe be coming down with something?

judelaw · 29/12/2022 14:53

@Poundofflesh

I initially did think I was coming down with a cold but it's just not turned into anything! X

ChloeN · 29/12/2022 15:07

@judelaw I had pulling cramp type pains around 6dpo, then period type cramps from 9dpo onwards. The only thing really different I get is sore nipples, but that probably didn’t start until after the positive test! I did also wee 4 times in a hour the day before my positive but I drink a lot of water so might be that🤣

belowfrozen · 29/12/2022 16:27

Crushing tiredness. Super nose came a bit later. Body odour from others was grim

Samanabanana · 29/12/2022 16:34

First successful pregnancy - absolute ravenous hunger. Second successful pregnancy absolutely no symptoms until 8 weeks pregnant!

judelaw · 29/12/2022 17:46

Still feel tired today, strange gum/tooth achy soreness and I've got stomach cramps on and off quite sharp.

I think I can test around 1st/2nd but not sure.

I promised myself I wouldn't get my hopes up (I have one blocked fallopian tube) but it's so hard when I want it so bad. Thank you all for replying to me on here!

Omg I've just been to the toilet and I'm bleeding?!!

Period isn't due until 8th January (I have 34 day cycles)

What is this?!!!!! It seemed like brown thick discharge - sorry that's disgusting to even type.

I've always read that implantation bleeding is very light pink - it isn't like that :(

Very early signs were extreme thirst and feeling like my uterus was stretching - like period cramps but slightly different.
Then a bit later on nausea and tiredness. Was symptom free from about 11 weeks onwards 😅
