Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@Soopyjoopy probably seen your intro yes but there’s so many messages on here I’m trying to keep up with it’s likely gone through what I call this sieve for a brain :)

Sorry to hear of your losses but exciting that it’s now finally your time :). Also, what an amazing thing to do to foster children, my hat goes off to you and I’m sure those children felt so loved by your family.

Mine was a surprise in the sense that I had given up tracking ovulation, I’d given up timing sexy time around when I thought I might be ovulating and I just thought what will be will be. I was adamant I wasn’t pregnant but my other half was adamant I was and demanded we get a test. I said no for the first week of the holiday and then gave in, if anything just to shut him up when it came back negative haha. The lines were there in seconds the moment it got dipped in the pee and I’ll never forget his ā€œI told you soā€ face haha.

@Owlgirl14 I'm 8w and 4 days. I really don’t feel pregnant at all now. Most of my symptoms have gone save for my sore nips and the odd bit of nausea which is much milder than it was for the last two weeks.

Owlgirl14 · 12/01/2023 19:23

@Firsttimemomma1 I was having a lot of nausea and stomach pain from indigestion/gas. But since I've been taking gaviscon and changed antihistamines it seems to be much better. Only get it slightly in the evenings whereas before it would be afternoons/evenings.

Hoping I can eat some dinner tonight for the first time in a while. I've not been able to eat much other than toast and yoghurt. I really love my food so I'm missing my evening meals.

First day back in the office today and someone casually slips in are you planning on having kids šŸ˜‚ It's a newbie who obviously doesn't know me well like everyone else. I haven't exactly been quiet on the fact I didn't want kids šŸ™ˆ

Owlgirl14 · 12/01/2023 19:27

@Soopyjoopy That's so amazing that you foster children, you must bring so much joy and happiness to those that perhaps haven't had a great start to life.

I'm glad you also have the chance now to have your own. I genuinely feel bad for those that really what kids and struggle and then someone like me who gets pregnant first time. I honestly wasn't expecting it and didn't think it would happen going by how long our friends have taken. Everyone really will be shocked!

LAgeDeRaisin · 12/01/2023 22:05

I'd love to join please! Due around 12th Sept and currently 5 + 2. Thos will be baby #3 - we have a 1yo and a 2yo already.

The pregnancy farts have begun.. 😳 but no nausea yet

Owlgirl14 · 12/01/2023 23:43

@LAgeDeRaisin Congratulations! The pregnancy burps and farts are so real. I do it more than my husband now and keep apologising šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚

LAgeDeRaisin · 13/01/2023 00:23

Thank you! Mine had decamped to the spare room for some oxygen

Havanalily1806 · 13/01/2023 10:38

Is anyone having early scans?

I have mine booked for Sunday where I should be 8+3.

We'd always said we would hope to get to 8 weeks then have one as I feel 8 week mark is a little more reassuring.

However I'm so nervous/anxious/scared. I want to go so that I know either way and hope that all is okay so we can relax a little bit and start to believe it all a little more, feel like this weekend is going to feel veryyy long until that's over šŸ™ˆ

May94x · 13/01/2023 11:13

@Havanalily1806 I have an early scan booked for Sunday too. I’ll be 8 weeks exactly.

I also feel very nervous and I think it will only relieve some anxiety for me for that day only and when I walk out of the scan I’ll be back to being anxious again!! I don’t think it will really settle for me until my 12 week scan. But will be nice to see if things are ok.

I posted a couple of days ago that my symptoms had really decreased but the nausea came back with a vengeance today and I was physically sick for the first time šŸ™ˆ

DandelionPockets · 13/01/2023 11:28

I had decided I wanted an early scan, but now I'm too nervous to book it and considering just waiting for the 12 week scan. Maybe it's slightly sticking my head in the sand!

I've got my first midwife booking in appointment when I'm 9+3 which is still a couple of weeks away and would be good to know things are ok before that..let's see if I'm brave and book it in.

Londongirl87 · 13/01/2023 11:53

@May94x and @Havanalily1806 looking forward to hearing about how your scans went!
I am going to book one for next week (when I pass the 8 weeks mark)

LuckyStar511 · 13/01/2023 12:23

I’ve got my private scan booked for when I’m 8+6 and the midwife just phoned to book my first appointment which will be when I’m 9+2. All starting to feel very real now!

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 13/01/2023 12:48

I’ve got a private scan booked for the 22nd when I’ll be 9+3 by LMP but 9+1 by ovulation. I’m terrified after 2 very early miscarriages/CPs but would rather know sooner if it’s bad news before walking into the waiting room at the hospital for the nhs scan as there’s always so many happy couples waiting for scans I think I would find it so much harder to walk past them all.

I know something bad could still happen after 9 weeks before the 12 week scan but I also know if it’s ok at 9 weeks the chances are a lot lower of miscarriage than before 9 weeks

hereistopositiveenergy · 13/01/2023 13:33

Had our early private scan and been referred to the EPU with 'pregnancy in unknown location'. She did say it could be dates are wrong given how irregular my cycle has been the last 12 months and they obviously go by LMP until a dating scan. My lining apparently is thicker which is a good sign - I just can't but help feeling deflated and on tenterhooks for the EPU to call me & arrange bloods etc next.

Havanalily1806 · 13/01/2023 13:34

@May94x

Good luck for Sunday! A figure I keep seeing recently, it's published by Tommy's, that a study found that those who had a scan at 8 weeks which showed a heartbeat, the odds of a successful pregnancy increases to 98%. Which I know doesn't mean all will be well but I found that figure reassuring, in my head Sunday is the hurdle to get over and then I will try to relax a little.

@DandelionPockets my midwife appointment is 9+5 and I know what you mean, I definitely want to know things are okay before that.

@Londongirl87 thank you, good luck for your scan too!

@LuckyStar511 good luck for your scan

@allgoodthings84 that's exactly how I feel, except I'd set myself 8 weeks rather than 9, although I've gone down the middle at 8+3 just for that little extra few days šŸ™ˆ I'm also anxious like you after an early miscarriage/CP and just hope everything is as it should be this time, for both of us. Good luck for your scan too x

allgoodthings84 · 13/01/2023 13:37

@Havanalily1806 I would have done this weekend too but I’ve got my daughter all weekend and she’s at her dads the following weekend so went with then that’s the only reason why 9 weeks not 8 😊

I hope everyone’s private scans go well

Havanalily1806 · 13/01/2023 14:02

@May94x

Sorry I also meant to say, my symptoms seemed to go on Monday this week I think it was, and I was worrying and fearing the worst and wishing to feel sick again.

But my god has it came back the last couple of nights. Not been sick yet (thankfully, touch wood) but the nausea is awful, I seem to be okay on a morning and just deteriorate as the day goes on šŸ™ˆ

laurapalmer22 · 13/01/2023 14:25

So grateful for this forum. My symptoms have also eased quite a lot these past few days and I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about, although I keep "chasing" that nausea feeling. So silly! Looking forward to my scan on Monday.

Firsttimemomma1 · 13/01/2023 15:02

@laurapalmer22 mine have eased loads!! I almost miss the nausea (until it came back 30 mins ago).

I am sure all is fine :)

Londongirl87 · 13/01/2023 16:00

I also feel like I have less nausea now at 7 weeks than I had 1 week ago. I never got sick but I was definitely not great last weekend.

I also feel like I am slightly less tired but I am also doing less and resting more / taking naps so I might just be managing it better.

Boobs are still huge and sensitive so I am not worrying too much about having less symptoms (my partner came back from work yesterday and it was the first thing he told me! Boys...)

FarmBaby3 · 13/01/2023 19:05

@hereistopositiveenergy I hope that your little bean is in the correct place come the EPU scan. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Soopyjoopy · 13/01/2023 19:47

datayze.com/miscarriage-chart

I'm not sure if this might help anyone, I found it reassuring to look at the probability of NOT miscarrying

LuckyStar511 · 13/01/2023 19:47

@hereistopositiveenergy so sorry to hear this. I’ve got everything crossed for you for your EPU scan!

OP posts:
LuckyStar511 · 13/01/2023 19:49

@Soopyjoopy I found that reassuring. Thank you!

Soopyjoopy · 13/01/2023 20:27

As far as scans go I did have an early one last week at 6+4 as an extra after bleeding etc. Ive had an 8 week one booked for next week pretty much since I found out. Its the day after my booking in.
I'm hoping if thats ok I'll settle a bit.
Witg my last pregnancy from the day I found out I ate sweets and haribo non stop, all I'm craving is cold apples, salad, lettuce, cucumber!! Wtf!!

allgoodthings84 · 13/01/2023 22:35

@hereistopositiveenergy I really hope everything is ok and you’re just earlier than expected because of long cycles šŸ’•
