Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone else has had any bleeding after sex? I’m currently 6+5 and had a little spotting immediately after, nothing the next day and have just had a tiny bit more. Feeling really freaked out x

Havanalily1806 · 11/01/2023 13:00

@chilliflakesmum @chickpea1982 I've not drank any coffee since finding out just to avoid the caffeine, did buy some decaf grounds but haven't really fancied a heavy milky frothy coffee yet! Weird as I'd usually crave one on a morning.

@Babydustmamma from what I know, I think it can be fairly normal after sex, something about the cervix can be irritated I think. I haven't DTD since finding out for that reason šŸ™ˆ didn't want the worry of what if it is what if it isn't... plus the nausea has not helped matters either. I see plenty of people on here report it though so try not to worry I'm sure it's to be expected.

I had a bit of a bad day Monday, my nausea went and I just felt that all my symptoms had gone and started expecting the worst. I'm 7+6 with a scan booked for Sunday. Since Monday I've felt nauseous a little but nothing like the last few weeks, and boobs not as sore but still a little. Hoping I'm just getting off lightly now and all will be okay Sunday ... that being said appetite still isn't what it was, still struggling to choose anything I want to eat and this morning had a lovely nose bleed out of no where so hoping that's a good sign šŸ¤žšŸ½

Babydustmamma · 11/01/2023 13:02

@Havanalily1806 thank you lovely! I had no idea! Wish I hadn’t now šŸ˜… have a scan tomorrow so hopefully I’ll have some more answers x

allgoodthings84 · 11/01/2023 13:12

@Babydustmamma I have also avoided sex since I found out I’m pregnant for that reason as I have a sensitive cervix prone to spotting before AF anyway so didn’t want to worry myself. Not sure my partner is as happy with it though but he wouldn’t say

@Havanalily1806 my sore boobs disappeared Saturday and I got worried but they came back the day after. I think at this stage symptoms come and go as our body gets more used to the hormones

Babydustmamma · 11/01/2023 13:27

@allgoodthings84 thanks! I definitely will be from now on just for peace of mind. I had a mmc with my last pregnancy, so the spotting has been pretty triggering x

Nypie · 11/01/2023 13:45

Hey @laurapalmer22 how're things now? I had a mini freak out at my RHR its been at 76 most of last week then Monday it was 74 but Tuesday 75 & today 76. I don't think its too much to worry about as long as you're not cramping and bleeding.

laurapalmer22 · 11/01/2023 14:52

@Nypie It just goes up and down, yesterday my RHR was up again to 57 and today it's down to 53. I was reading online forums and apparently this happens to several other pregnant women and it was no cause for concern. I'm not too worried about it as I don't have any obvious MC symptoms, and I still have nausea, sore boobs, twinges, etc.

Havanalily1806 · 11/01/2023 14:58

@laurapalmer22 @Nypie my Apple Watch keeps notifying me of a "new trend for my testing heart rate" and that trend is of course that it is lower than the previous fortnight, however said fortnight was over Christmas and the build up where I was a lot busier, and didn't really have any nausea or symptoms... the last 2 weeks I've not really moved off the sofa šŸ˜… so hoping that explains the drop and I'm just trying not to think too much about it.

@Babydustmamma good luck for tomorrow, hope all goes well and try not to worry

@allgoodthings84 that's what I'm trying to remind myself of.. I'll feel a lot lot better if all is as it should be on Sunday but I know there's nothing that can be done whatever the outcome so trying not to worry about it too much

Mountainview8 · 11/01/2023 15:14

@laurapalmer22 @Havanalily1806 my heart rate has also dropped a bit, but still higher than pre-pregnancy. I'm also assuming the drop is due to getting back to a normal routine after Christmas rather than anything being wrong.

allgoodthings84 · 11/01/2023 15:22

My RHR dropped a little at 5 weeks but I had been poorly with strep throat so think that made my RHR even higher than it would have been (78 at highest! When pre pregnancy I’m less than 60) so I think some of the drop was me getting better but it made me obsessive checking my watch every morning and worrying when not going up so I took it off and haven’t worn it since. With both of my previous early miscarriages/CPs my RHR dropped so that’s why I got a bit obsessive with it. I feel much better since I took it off. I’ll put it back on after the 12 week ir even 20 week scan

allgoodthings84 · 11/01/2023 15:23

And I don’t need to be reminded I’m doing eff all at the moment šŸ˜‚ I just feel too nauseous

laurapalmer22 · 11/01/2023 15:41

Yeah, my RHR increased around the time our family was over for Christmas and I had a really bad cold, and now that I'm back to my usual work and exercise routine, it's gone down, so I definitely think this is all related

Londongirl87 · 11/01/2023 16:25

Thank you so much @Moni81 @laurapalmer22 @FarmBaby3 @Mountainview8 for the reassurance! Feeling so lucky to have this group :-)

Nik84 · 11/01/2023 16:26

All I’m worrying about now is my normal resting heart rate šŸ˜… When do you measure it? During the night when you’re sleeping or when you’re sat watching tv for example? When I’m awake it’s around 76 sat doing nothing. You all sound like athletes 😳

Havanalily1806 · 11/01/2023 16:33

Hi @Nik84 my watch picks mine up but I have always had a high heart rate.. I've had tests done when I was younger with no issues found

Mine was up to 79 in December and has now dropped to 72

In October/November it was averaging 68-70 (I had started a good exercise routine at this point) earlier in the year it was about 74...

It's never caused me any problems, just something I've always had, I would try not to worry. Pregnancy also causes your RHR to increase

Moni81 · 11/01/2023 16:34

@Nik84 unless you have some heart condition from before pregnancy I wouldn't worry ....I don't even check my heart rate. In pregnancy your heart has to work harder to pump blood around. I get more sluggish and out of breath easily even though I'm normally fit and healthy. Same was with my previous pregnancies, it's normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong. You will have your blood pressure checked at midwife appointments anyway. Stop constant checking and take that smart watch off your hand, it just feeds anxiety.

laurapalmer22 · 11/01/2023 16:47

@Nik84 I have a Garmin which measures it all the time. I've always been a big gym junkie so I don't think I'm representative of an average person!

Soopyjoopy · 11/01/2023 17:03

I wouldnt focus too much on RHR (so easy to say) I have a heart condition usual rhr about 65 ish bp 120/80 when I was pregnant before both went down the entire pregnancy. I just notice I get out of breath quickly/easily

allgoodthings84 · 11/01/2023 17:28

@Nik84 for accurate RHR it needs to be worn overnight when your body is at full rest

Owlgirl14 · 11/01/2023 18:00

@Londongirl87 Yes I've had yellowish discharge too, seem to have more than usual today though. Assume all is normal!

7+1 and finally have sore boobs for the first time šŸ˜‚

Has anyone had their booking in appointment yet? Got mine booked in for 2 weeks time. Doctor was really helpful with discussing medication and a few other things.

Lady1066 · 11/01/2023 18:21

Hi Everyone,
I’m 6+4 with second child, feeling way more anxious than I did first time round. I had a emergency c-section with DD and am experiencing a lot of stabbing pain at the minute? No bleeding and tests are still + but wondering if anyone else who has had a CS is experiencing this? (Didn’t know if it was the scar stretching or when to worry)
xx

Nik84 · 11/01/2023 18:25

Thanks all 😊 I used to have terrible anxiety about my heart and it still worries me from time to time.

On another note, I didn’t think my boobs could get more sore or bigger until I woke up this morning. I’m pretty sure people have noticed 🤣

laurapalmer22 · 11/01/2023 18:25

@Owlgirl14 My booking is this Saturday, I'll be exactly 7 weeks (by my own calculations)

Soopyjoopy · 11/01/2023 18:34

@Owlgirl14
My booking in is next Tues, I'll be 7 + 6 by my calculations

May94x · 11/01/2023 18:49

Oh wow a few have you have got your booking in appointment early!! Mines not until 31st Jan when I’ll be 10 weeks!!

Got a private scan booked for this Sunday so just praying little bean is dong ok šŸ¤ž been a bit panicky as like some of you my symptoms (nausea/sore nips) have really decreased these past couple of days x
