Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@allgoodthings84 šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚I throughly reccomend though I think I ate too many šŸ˜‚.
You're a supermum for even cooking it...I dont think I could have stomached the smell!

DandelionPockets · 09/01/2023 21:29

Definitely adding sour sweets to my shopping list for tomorrow now...

allgoodthings84 · 09/01/2023 21:35

@Nypie ha ha i had the back double doors open as I started to feel all hot and faint

cinnamonbiscuit · 09/01/2023 22:22

@ClaBro1 I’m also feeling dreadful, threw up so much this morning and for the rest of the day I’m feeling like I could vom again at any moment. Really stressing about making it into work going forwards, think I might have to ask GP for some helpā˜¹ļø

I hope everyone is doing well!

I went for an early reassurance scan today - was anxious to check everything was ok, especially as I've only had mild symptoms so far. Mostly just sore breasts, mild lower back ache, and some headaches. No nausea or sickness (yet!)

Was relieved to see a heartbeat with baby measuring 6+6 (just one day behind where I'd guestimated!). Fascinating to see it on screen - it all feels a lot more real now!

hereistopositiveenergy · 10/01/2023 08:05

Hi! I'm currently due Aug/Early Sept - I am having another scan next week to confirm following an emotional journey we've already been on (have a thread about it)

It's nice to actually be able to post and say I'm pregnant on here as IRL DP wants to keep it between us a little longer & until we've more reassurance everything is ok.

laurapalmer22 · 10/01/2023 09:42

@Augustbabyy Wonderful news about your scan!
@hereistopositiveenergy Read your other thread, so very happy for you!!

Has anyone else's resting heart rates gone back down? Mine was up for about a week around week 4-5, but now it's gone back down to 49-50. Worried about everything, of course...

Moni81 · 10/01/2023 09:52

@hereistopositiveenergy congratulations, I can only imagine how hard it is to try so long and then having it all messed up by doctors when it actually happens. I can completely understand lots of ladies here, when I was in my late 20s I had hormonal urge to have kids, luckily for me it all happened without problems.

I never even considered waiting with sharing pregnancy news in past but now at 42 I will probably wait until I'm about 4 months. We were not actively trying, more like not preventing pregnancy and it's a bit different at this stage with 2 young teenagers at home. I think some of my family will have strong opinion about my pregnancy, not that I care, just don't feel like it's news that everyone is waiting for lol.

Is anyone else terrified of having twins? I'm feeling big already (is this possible?!) and I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow. I'm planning a scan in the next couple of weeks but the thought of twins plus an 8 year old is terrifying me. I really don't think I could cope as we both have busy jobs.

allgoodthings84 · 10/01/2023 16:50

@Purpleunicorn35 even if twins at this stage any bump wouldn’t be baby I don’t think. There’s a lot of bloating etc going on at the beginning so may just be that.

Soopyjoopy · 10/01/2023 21:37

Hi all,

Thanks for good will messages, apologies for not replying was busy getting away on hols. Im still a bit in shock of seeing baby and heartbeat on Sunday tbh.
Nausea seems to have been ok last cple days, that doesnt worry me I didnt have any last time. Sore boobs and period type pains, walked a mountain today (albeit small) felt quite good, my 3yos first solo walk, he didnt even hold a hand!! I'm so proud.

I have the fear too. We have two kids already and one of them has a worrying health condition. We would cope but it would be really hard!

chickpea1982 · 11/01/2023 09:00

Has anyone else had to give up coffee? The smell just makes me gag. Now struggling with nausea and caffeine withdrawal at the same time! Feel like I'm wading through treacle today...

allgoodthings84 · 11/01/2023 09:05

@chickpea1982 I don’t drink coffee anyway but I’ve gone right off my beloved Diet Coke/Coke Zero/Pepsi max. I just can’t drink it it doesn’t taste right anymore. I can’t drink any fizzy drinks and enjoy them anymore šŸ˜ž I bought loads of diet lemonade, Sprite Zero, Fanta zero etc for Xmas and couldn’t drink any of it. My partner has been happy though šŸ˜‚.

Moni81 · 11/01/2023 09:06

@chickpea1982 about coffee, I had it with previous pregnancies and same this time round. Actually before my period was late I was very sick with flu and initially put late period and going off coffee as side effect of sickness lol

allgoodthings84 · 11/01/2023 09:08

@Purpleunicorn35 yes I’m worried about twins but just keep telling myself it’s definitely a singleton as I feel just like I did at this stage with my daughter šŸ˜‚ I know that’s not a guarantee but it’s keeping me from thinking about it. I’ve got a scan booked for 22nd when I’ll be just over 9 weeks (9+3 by LMP but 9+1 by ovulation) and I’m really hoping it’s just one. The cost of 2 lots of childcare will cripple us but we know it could happen as I’m 38 and my Nan had twins

ClaBro1 · 11/01/2023 09:22

Ah these forums are so good to make you feel less alone with all the weird symptoms and aversions. Ginger snap biscuits tend to calm my nausea down but trying not to eat too many! This morning I couldn’t eat my cereal as the milk tasted really sour to me, it was making me gag. It’s definitely in date-so strange. Another lovely side effect! Hope everyone is well x

Londongirl87 · 11/01/2023 10:15

Hello! Does anyone else has yellowish discharge / cervical mucus? I read that it could be an infection which worries me but I did all sort of tests as I had to start fertility treatment and all of them were negative.

I have been having this yellowish discharge on and off since I found out I was pregnant and I am at 6+5 now

Moni81 · 11/01/2023 10:23

@Londongirl87 in pregnancy there is in increase in leaukhorea, it's healthy natural discharge, it can be white or yellowish. I get it a lot especially after waking up in the morning. Plus in early pregnancy mucus plug is forming as well that keep your baby safe and sealed. As long as it's not itchy, smelly or has cottage cheese consistency which could indicate yeast infection which require treatment, it's all fine.

laurapalmer22 · 11/01/2023 10:50

@Londongirl87 I've always had yellowish discharge and even more so now during pregnancy. Last time I had my pap smear, I also had my discharge tested and it all came out fine, they just discovered I have group B strep which is very common and not a cause for worry.

I have it too. It doesn't smell. I just assumed that it was doing a good job of cleaning as everything needs to be tip top.

Mountainview8 · 11/01/2023 11:17

@Londongirl87 I have yellowish discharge, but that's usual for me, but I do seem to have more discharge during pregnancy. I went for a check up around ovulation time and the doctor seemed surprised at the amount of discharge. But it doesn't smell and tests came back negative for infection so hopefully yours is nothing to worry about.

chilliflakesmum · 11/01/2023 11:46

@chickpea1982 Yes, I went off coffee in the 1st trimester when I was pregnant with my first. I also went off water - I usually drink pints of it! But I had to have it with some squash. That only lasted till week 14 thank god.
I'm 5 weeks yesterday so prepared for water aversion to hit me next week 😭

Mortima · 11/01/2023 12:14

@chickpea1982 I've also gone right off coffee, and had horrible withdrawal headaches last week along with the nausea - it's grim, but you'll be through in the worst in a day or two.

Anyone else really struggling with nausea? I'm not vomiting excessively (average about twice a day), but I just feel constantly sick and it's draining the life out of me, all I want to do is lie down and can only eat bland food.
I'm off work at the moment and no idea when I'll be able to go back - I'm only about 8 weeks so could have a while to go before this improves.
I've tried 3 different meds from the GP without success so far, waiting for another call from them today šŸ¤ž

DandelionPockets · 11/01/2023 12:30

@chilliflakesmum I've totally gone off water! It's all I drink normally too... Got myself some ribena squash and that's been ok. What next!
