Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

Thanks @FarmBaby3 that does make me feel much better knowing it was normal for you!
@Purpleunicorn35 I’ve been thinking about the august/ September school thing lots too. Mentally can’t let myself get carried away thinking about it before I’ve had a good 12 week scan but it’s definitely crossed my mind!
also I’m likening my constant nausea to having a permanent hangover šŸ˜’

Ellenn · 04/01/2023 19:22

I feel everyone who also has bleeding it makes you so anxious doesn’t it.

So worried after my scan yesterday which was so nice to see a heartbeat I had a really heavy bleed, cramps and passed a big clot 😭 so feel like my reassurance I got yesterday has been shattered. I feel in my head there is no way I could pass that much blood and not be a miscarriage … although still nauseous today but suspect takes awhile for hormones to go down? Now already wanting to get another scan just so I have closure 😳

Owlgirl14 · 04/01/2023 19:34

@elliew818 School dates have also crossed my mind with a due date of 29th Aug!

Is anyone taking paracetamol for their headaches or just riding it out. Yesterday it was pretty constant but today a bit better.

BeichiogrwyddEnfys · 04/01/2023 19:36

@Purpleunicorn35 September always best! šŸ˜‚ You’re a year older going full time than an August baby who still feel so young. (Obviously doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things and any date is perfect as long as baby is well) September babies also get an extra year of half day nursery! If it was a choice I’d always choose the September date (though i am a September baby šŸ˜‚) x

BeichiogrwyddEnfys · 04/01/2023 19:39

So sorry to hear of everyone experiencing bleeding. I didn’t have it in my first pregnancy but did in my last. There’s no reassurances anyone can offer that will stop you worrying. I found the mental strain far more challenging than the physical.

Hoping it stops for you all soon x

Notmulan · 04/01/2023 20:08

Sorry @Ellenn that does sound scary for you. Hope you’re ok

allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 20:18

I’m sorry to read about people bleeding too. I’ve had 2 very early miscarriages/CPs so know how scary bleeding is and I know if I have any bleeding now I’ll be terrified. It really is a scary time. I remember with my daughter I wasn’t worried at all until after 30 weeks when I had some issues, miscarriages never even crossed my mind. This pregnancy feels exactly the same as that one due so far but because I know a lot more this time round because of the 2 miscarriages it so much more scary and worrying.

@elliew818 school dates crossed my mind too and I was hoping for September rather than august but as I’m due 24th august and having a c section which I’m guessing will be around 39 weeks (no idea this is a guess) means it will definitely be August born. My daughter has 7 August born kids in her class. 2 are actually a year older as were held back a year and the other 5 aren’t falling behind, in fact 2 of them are the brightest in the class and some who are born in the Autumn term are struggling more. Emotionally in foundation the older ones find it easier but they all catch up quickly once at school. My daughter is a summer term birthday and not struggling at all at school. It all depends on the child and if they have been to nursery before starting school they will likely be pretty self sufficient with taking themselves to the toilet and getting changed etc and using cutlery so will be fine

cinnamonbiscuit · 04/01/2023 21:08

Happy to say I’ve had no more blood at all today so hoping it was just some random cervical irritation. I do get mid cycle spotting since having DD1 so feel like maybe my cervix is more sensitive these days.
How are you doing @Soopyjoopy ?

allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 21:14

@cinnamonbiscuit a sensitive cervix could definitely cause a bit of spotting here and there as pregnancy hormones make the cervix even more sensitive. It’s why I’m scared to have sex until my 12 weeks scan as sex a few days before AF can make me spot so my head tells me if it does when pregnant before I know things are ok I’ll only worry so rather take that chance out

FarmBaby3 · 04/01/2023 22:01

@Ellenn how are you feeling now? Are you able to phone EPU back?

toddlertired · 04/01/2023 22:17

Hi! Joining in as starting to believe after 3 chemicals this one might stick…am in Scotland so things work differently here I think but I phoned today to get my first midwife appt and scan booked, due 12th Sept ish. Thoughts with those of you having bleeding, it’s impossible not to worry you just have to look after yourself. I have one DS and miscarriage never crossed my mind, then 3 CPs has made me so paranoid am constantly on knicker watch. Weirdly I embrace the nausea because it makes me feel like everything’s ok… not sure if i want an early scan or not, did those of you who’ve had one find it helped you cope with the long wait til 12/13 weeks?

IntheFade · 04/01/2023 22:31

Hey guys šŸ‘‹

I've just joined this website and very new to everything! I'm so glad I found this thread as I've been having similar experiences/anxieties others are having. I don't feel crazy anymore 😬 It's taken a weight off my shoulders to know there's so many of us in the same boat! Some lovely and wise words from some posts on here have been so helpful. Especially when I'm wide awake at 4am in the morning and not sure what to do with myself! I'm due 8th Sep '23 and currently 4 weeks + 5 days. I'm 32 and will be 33 when baby comes. This will be my first.

I had very sore boobs at first but this has completely calmed down. I literally have no symptoms now other than I'm finding my sense of smell to be strong but I've always been that way!

I hope everyone are doing well and will keep tabs on the thread to look for updates on a few who have mentioned they are going through some worrying times ATM. My heart goes out to you and hopefully everything will work out just fine.

Nypie · 04/01/2023 22:59

I'm still testing. I have about 10 internet cheapies left. No more frer and I'm not buying more. Planning on doing a weeks cb tomorrow and then another in a week time. My IC don't seem to have line increase but my FRER does.

I'm about 14 DPO.

Nypie · 04/01/2023 23:07

@FarmBaby3 I just ran out of test so bought a load of cheapies and 2 clear blues I think we've got the same plan with the clear blues, my Ics have looked simmilar the last 2 days but the ones I got from co op are progressing nicely. It good drive you crazy.

allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 23:11

@FarmBaby3 I only did the 2 frers at 14dpo (day after AF due) and 18dpo then moved onto a CB weeks digital at 23dpo (which was 3+) so I stopped expensive ones then. I did cheap one step tests 15dpo, 20dpo and 30dpo. The 30dpo one step surprised me as most things I’ve read they don’t really do dye stealers but this one definitely did. I’m now 32dpo and won’t take anymore unless I start bleeding or something. I’m only this obsessive as have had 2 early miscarriages/CPs prior to this. Those both showed my lines getting fainter very quickly so seeing them get darker helped although I know it doesn’t guarantee anything

firsttimelondonmummy · 04/01/2023 23:42

Hey amazing mums to be!
I’m a little bit further along (due end of June) but was having a read as I love hearing how everyone is getting on and just wanted to jump in regarding schools.
I’m an August baby and just wanted to let those worrying know I thrived throughout school, never had any issues and never fell behind (I was actually at the top of all of my classes in both primary and secondary).
I never had any issues with social skills and easily made friends throughout my life.
I know plenty of other Leo’s in the same boat too (my boss being one).
I really don’t think it makes much of a difference and in my case it made me work harder to try and beat the older kids šŸ˜‚
The only time it ever bothered me was when I was last to start driving lessons (I passed super quick though because of this) and when I was the last to get my ID (stopped me going out as early though so again not a bad thing).
I love being an August baby and wouldn’t wish to be born in any other month (Leo’s & Virgos are awesome) 🦁 šŸ”„

Moni81 · 04/01/2023 23:46

Im completely opposite, just tested once when 5 days late, line came very strong pink as test line. I feel pregnant, no bleeding or spotting, my cervix mashed up and disappeared lol don't see reason for more testing. My partner keep nagging me to do more tests, but unless something goes wrong I don't see reason, will definitely see darker line. The truth is yes there is risk of miscarriage and in my age apparently as high as 30-50% but if I think about it constantly will just stress out. The reality is in first 3 months anything can happen and unfortunately if I start to loose this baby there is nothing that can be done to prevent it, so I just choose to take it easy.

Nypie · 05/01/2023 00:10

@Moni81 I wish this was me sounds very chill and saving you money aswell! Do you have other children?
I've had an early loss in the past and am generally more dramatic than most so lots of tests for me! And will also be getting an early scan.

Moni81 · 05/01/2023 00:15

Nypie yes I have 2 older girls 10 and 13, this was surprise pregnancy and I'm 42 , so I suppose it's all different perspective for me.

Tigermilk1 · 05/01/2023 02:46

Hi all! Got a strong positive on NYE after a very late period. We'd only been trying for 2 cycles. I thought it would take longer (I'd read 7-10 months on average at 33), so it's a welcome surprise. Still very early but we're cautiously optimistic. Due date in early September according to an online calculator!

I contacted the GP, who said to just fill the maternity online self-referral, so I did that on Tuesday. Does anyone know how long they usually take to get back? First timer here so a little anxious!

In the meantime I'm signing up to an online course about the anatomy of pregnancy, labour, medical issues etc. I'm a scientist so hopefully my background will come in handy! :)

Soopyjoopy · 05/01/2023 03:22

Does anyone else work nights and find when they're awake in the insomniac bit the nausea comes on then? I've just finished 3 shifts and woke up 2am feeling so sicky, about the same time I do if I'm workingšŸ™ˆ

@cinnamonbiscuit the bleeding seems to have stopped and even in the realms Of constipation I get when I had bm there was still no bleeding. EPU said they would scan at 7 weeks but not sure as I'm going away next week anyway and have private scan booked week after. Might see if i can get EPU 8 weeks and push private one back, not sure šŸ¤”

Moni81 · 05/01/2023 05:02

Soopyjoopy I work nights but still waiting for nausea to hit, so can't comment on that. With my previous pregnancies I used to get sick in early hours of morning and evenings so I guess everyone gets some pattern unfortunately. So far I only get very tired by 2 am on shift and often drop for bit lol then I have trouble sleeping all the way and wake up at 12 going back to sleep in the evening again then rushing to get ready. Pregnancy definitely messes up body clock.

Morag202287 · 05/01/2023 07:23

I definitely can relate to the obsession of testing with my 4 losses I did this, and it always seemed to end right before the 6 weeks. I think I always thought I'll just check again even though I was defo already getting the positives. Decided this time not to as it was not only costing a fortune but for my own mind. For me I have tried this time not to think ahead to the future because its disheartening each time if something happens. So I'm just taking it week by week. I'm a student nurse and tbh I already have the fear over what the heck I'm gonna do 🤣 so that new future thought is taking over. However I do have to think God if I make 12 weeks my placement uniform shall not fit and the time it takes to get a new one. Trust me to leave fulltime employment to study.

Ellenn · 05/01/2023 07:37

@FarmBaby3 after the heavy bleeding on Tuesday night it basically just stopped and then yesterday hardly anything. Nothing this morning. Wondering if that was the miscarriage, it was very quick! I’m going to phone my EPU this morning as they said to cancel my scan next week if I think I miscarried but realised I do need to know as I’m on medication as it was an embryo transfer… so I’m hoping they will still let me get a scan to confirm

hope everyone else doing ok and no more scares like me, I really thought after years trying to get pregnant I would be so happy if it worked but it’s just not 😄

at least if it was a miscarriage it was nice to see the wee heartbeat that day 🄰 pretty gutting though knowing if I’ve lost it we are unlikely to have a baby this year certainly x
