Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@Morag202287 good luck today! šŸ™šŸ„°

Soopyjoopy · 04/01/2023 09:28

Hcg levels have gone from 6000 ish to 21000 ish in 5 days so I figure thats positive. Ive been reading that apparently they increase quickest in first 4 weeks, then slow to doubling every 3.5 days, cple of articles say by 6000miu/ml it takes 96 hrs to double not sure how true that is!??

Londongirl87 · 04/01/2023 09:55

Good luck today @Morag202287 and amazing news @Soopyjoopy !

Owlgirl14 · 04/01/2023 10:32

Morning all, hope you are all ok. I had lots of sleep last night so hoping to feel a bit better today.

I'm reading up on the size of baby each week but getting confused when it says baby size at week 7.

Does it mean when you're 6 weeks and entering into week 7? Or does it mean when you're 7 weeks.

I'm currently 6+1 so wondering what fruit size it is now šŸ™‚

Owlgirl14 · 04/01/2023 10:33

@Soopyjoopy they're great readings 😊

@Morag202287 I hope today goes well for you x

laurapalmer22 · 04/01/2023 10:50

@Soopyjoopy @Morag202287 Sending good thoughts your way ā¤ļø

I self referred on 1st Jan and I already have my booking appointment and 12wk scan scheduled, so quick! Booking mid-Jan and scan mid-Feb.

Hello! Can I join?
I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant with my second and due the same day as you @Purpleunicorn35 šŸ˜€ 13th Sept, and will also be opting for a c-section after an EMCS with my first one in August 2021. I'm also 37 and will be 38 when this one arrives (if all goes well!)
Still can't believe I'm pregnant. Period is due tomorrow so hoping it stays away šŸ™

Morag202287 · 04/01/2023 11:56

Update: I called EPU let them know what happened tho nothing since and they said just keep my appt for tomorrow as no appta today obviously unless I'm crippled in pain which I have no pain . So tomorrow cannot come quick enough. I planned to go out shopping today but I've decided to not move out the house. And pray no more red bleeding happens. Thanks girls. See what happens tomorrow. Xx

elliew818 · 04/01/2023 12:16

@Morag202287 fingers crossed for you tomorrow. Today is going to drag I’m sure!
I’m debating whether to call the EPU or not, I DTD yesterday and had some pink blood when I went for a wee afterwards which completely freaked out my DH but I was more worried by the odd stomach ache I had after, felt like I’d been doing sit ups for an hour, it had gone by last night but has anyone else experienced this after sex?

Morag202287 · 04/01/2023 12:39

@elliew818 you can always call for advice there's no harm. And if it's not red red you might not need to . But for your own kind you could call. I'll be honest since I found out before Xmas I've not had sex I'm too worried lol. Coz of past experiences which probably wasn't related to sex but I'm now like closed for business unsure when I'll decide to hah.

Londongirl87 · 04/01/2023 13:43

@Morag202287 Same here, I am so scared of doing something wrong that I have also been closed for business since I tested positive. I think it will go better once I am more reassured that things are going well (after the first ultrasound maybe)

Morag202287 · 04/01/2023 13:55

@Londongirl87 yeah it's just a hard time the early stages, wish I never always knew this early. I'm definitely abstaining until I feel like it's ok. No bleeding today is a plus and I'm trying to stay positive and try relax today food and netflix are my friends. X

elliew818 · 04/01/2023 14:06

Oh I’ve been there, in my pregnancy with DS2 I had a huge subchorionic hematoma bleed at 11 weeks and thought I’d MC’d so we didn’t have sex for the rest of the pregnancy!!!
I’ve kind of made peace with DTD not causing anything but I’ll see if it happens again and will mention to the midwife when they get back to me after my self referral.

I used to get that stomach ache after sex every time I was pregnant. As I got further on it would be a giant Braxton hicks. Didn't help Labour come on though!!

Sometimes sex can irritate the cervix and cause some pink/bleeding. If you want checked then definitely call EPU. That's what they are there for.

Hope you are okay x

Nik84 · 04/01/2023 16:24

I went back to work today and I’ve been having uncomfortable cramps. I’m 6 weeks so not sure if it’s still stretching pains or something else. Trying hard not to worry šŸ˜

Ah amazing same date 🤣
Im thinking with a c section it will be first week of September so deliberating whether better to have a September baby oldest in the year or august baby youngest... not sure will be able to push for one or the other but worth thinking about! August will go to school earlier but prob better to be oldest in the year...?

Purpleunicorn35 · 04/01/2023 16:39

allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 07:44

Hi @Purpleunicorn35 tou sound pretty similar to me. I’m not long turned 38 and will be my partners first too. I have a 7 year old with ex husband and wanting a section too after having an emcs with my daughter for various reasons. I do not want to go through that again.

I’ve got pretty much constant nausea but not been actually sick which is exactly what I felt with my daughter. I get heartburn lots and my boobs have got bigger and sore. I struggle to get to sleep at night but then struggle to get up in the morning. I’m constantly shattered apart from bedtime šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

I am dreading telling daughter as she is quite clingy and not sure how she will take it. Am going to wait out 3 months , especially because of my age too you never know. What about you?

laurapalmer22 · 04/01/2023 16:44

Ugh don't know why I was nervous about lack of symptoms yesterday, I've been mildly queasy all day

Moni81 · 04/01/2023 17:04

Purpleunicorn I have 2 older daughters one from November the other August and to be fair both are doing very well in school from very early on. The only thing to consider I would say is childcare, September baby will set you back a year. With this pregnancy I don't have to consider childcare as I work nights but with early September due date and being over 40 I should be offered induction week before....that's if I manage so far lol.

DandelionPockets · 04/01/2023 17:07

@laurapalmer22 same, feels like car sickness to me and felt it all day. Also a banging headache but that could be my desk sitting posture!

laurapalmer22 · 04/01/2023 17:09

@DandelionPockets Yes, exactly like car sickness for me too!

Cat1424 · 04/01/2023 17:09

@laurapalmer22 with you on the banging headache!

My nausea is like when you’re absolutely starving and the pit of your stomachs hurts šŸ˜‚

allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 17:48

@Purpleunicorn35 my daughter will be mega excited. She’s been wanting it for a long time ha ha. I won’t tell her until I have to though (definitely not before 12 weeks, hopefully longer) as it’s a long time for an excited child to wait

Firsttimemomma1 · 04/01/2023 18:03

Phwar ladies, what a day! I must say as stretched the NHS is here in the UK, the midwifery booking appointment was given to me within a week of notifying them of my pregnancy. I had that app today and the midwife was lovely and gave me so much information I didn’t even think to look into.

Waiting for confirmation of my dating scan which should be early Feb but she has put me at a DD of 24 August. Feels a bit more real to have an actual date although she did say this might change ever so slightly at the dating Scan.

Booked a private scan for Friday when I should be 7 + 1 and that will be the last of the private scans then as my next EPAU scan is 19th Jan and then it will be my dating scan.

I don’t know why but today has excited me. Getting the little pregnacare samples in my booking app pack and getting an email from the NHS confirming my prescriptions and dental treatments are now free until baby is 1… you just don’t think about these things!

how are you all feeling? I agree with you @Cat1424 on the nausea front, you described mine perfectly!
