Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@DandelionPockets I'm exactly the same, trying to work on 4 hours sleep today but least I'm at home so can take regular breaks.

I'm also looking to book a scan in around 8 weeks. Feel like it will come round a bit more quickly now I'm back to work.

Moni81 · 03/01/2023 15:55

I only just started taking pregnancare couple of days ago, I think folic acid makes me constipated, but hey will have to put up with that. Anyone looking for vitamins, pregnancare original is for just over £3 a month pack on Amazon.

DandelionPockets · 03/01/2023 16:07

@Owlgirl14 we can power through! Would normally find comfort in a pack of biscuits but trying to be healthy now...

laurapalmer22 · 03/01/2023 16:14

I'm not sure if it's a pregnancy symptom or just how my body works, but I have lots of (healthy looking!) discharge these days... Anyone else?

Moni81 · 03/01/2023 16:25

Yes same here, increased discharge is normal and I'm constantly with pantyliners right now. The only thing to look for is hormonally induced thrush, I had it very bad through both my pregnancies. Actually until delievery I had to use pessary every 3 weeks and it kept coming back, really nasty green clumps very uncomfortable itchy and sore. I hope I could avoid it this time.

laurapalmer22 · 03/01/2023 16:33

Oh no, that sounds unpleasant, I hope you skip it this time. So far so good for me, just going through my whole stash of pantyliners.

BeichiogrwyddEnfys · 03/01/2023 16:41

Hi all,

I'm 5 weeks on Thursday and due 7th September 2023.

I have a LB who is 3 and suffered a late miscarriage in July 22 - so extra nervous this time around! Literally doing everything I can for an alternative outcome (without a medical justification for the last one!) - and feel a little bit like I am doing this for the first time I am reading so much.

CMG92 · 03/01/2023 17:18

Hey everyone I’m 6+2 today but for the 4th day in a row I’m getting brown discharge, it seems worse when I have to go for a no2 (sorry tmi) very little in my liner but when I wipe there is quite a bit, anyone else having this? Had some cramps on Fri/sat but they have now gone. My pregnancysymptoms seem more at night than in the morning too! X

Morag202287 · 03/01/2023 17:20

@Ellenn I'm also 6w 2d. Yeah I jave an early scan Thursday. Will you also be getting early scanned via nhs? Or private. Congratulations to all the newbies xx

Morag202287 · 03/01/2023 17:21

@CMG92 I have been the same since Xmas eve every other day I have had brown but its trailing off the past few days. Xx

CMG92 · 03/01/2023 17:47

@Morag202287 that’s good to hear I’m not on my own! Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms? As I don’t really occasional boobs tingle and an ache in my thighs but literally nothing else! Good in 1 way but makes you worry too! Xx

Ellenn · 03/01/2023 18:46

@CMG92 I ended up getting a scan and looks perfect with heartbeat šŸ˜ still got dark brown light bleeding and some cramps on and off

@Morag202287 I paid for a private one today but I ended up phoning the early pregnancy unit and got a lovely nurse who reassured me and gave me a scan at 7 wks on the NHS. Just got paranoid today incase it was ectopic as was having cramps too but it all looks perfect!

CMG92 · 03/01/2023 19:18

@Ellenn ahhh that’s such good news 🄰🄰🄰 will keep positive, 2weeks until my booking appt, apparently I need to have a referral to be seen at our early pregnancy centre from a GP or midwife I can’t just ring or turn up 🤨xx

LuckyStar511 · 03/01/2023 19:45

Good evening! So lovely to have so many people here 🄰
Is anyone else struggling with bloating? By the end of each day I look about 5 months pregnant!

Yes yes!! 6+1 and already I look like 6m preggo!! But Not cute but saggy stomach šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚

Owlgirl14 · 03/01/2023 20:27

Yes bloating here too! Seems to have settled the last few days.

Has anyone been feeling generally unwell? I've had various symptoms up until today but now just feeling generally unwell really, but headachey and hot/cold too.

LuckyStar511 · 03/01/2023 20:49

@Shinea at certain angles I’m like ā€˜awww look at that bump. It’ll be real soon!’ Then at other angles I’m like ā€˜nope, deffo bloat mixed with mum tum šŸ˜‚ā€™

@Owlgirl14 yes I have! Exhausted, nauseous on and off, really sensitive to temperature- boiling hot then freezing cold, and a real lack of energy. I am running around after a toddler all day too though so that probably doesn’t help.

@LuckyStar511 That's Definately me today, the lack of sleep last night won't be helping. Woke up really hot, then headachey and nauseous. Then cold and hot again šŸ™ˆ Was up a good few hours in the night and of course I was back to work today.

Soopyjoopy · 03/01/2023 20:59

Hi all,

Sorry I've been quiet, following some bleeding on NYD I was convinced it was another CP (it could still be) however seeing some of the posts that are similar to me I thought I'd write. The bleeding stopped by this time last night so had been there for around 36hrs, very mild, none on pad just when I wiped, nothing from last night until this lunchtime when (as someone else mentioned) I went for a number 2. I seem to remember last time reading about irritated cervix and engorged cervix (my husband remined me as we did chuckle like kids at the names) where due to increased blood flow lots of things can irritate it causing slight bleeds, not sure if anyone else has any experience or knowledge of this?

I did ring EPAU this morning who were nice and said they'd book me in for a 7 week reassurance scan but it had to come as a referral from GP, trying to get hold of GP today was like trying to contact another planet so I did the only thing I could think of and had another blood test, as least by tomorrow morning I'll get an idea of what HCG is doing. I'll contact GP to make the referral tomorrow.

My head is all over the place, I get really upset then think 3 days and still only tiny blood only sometimes only when I wipe maybe it's not all bad, then I think I'm kidding myself. I suppose there's nothing I can do to change it just time will tell.

cinnamonbiscuit · 03/01/2023 21:58

Hi everyone, congrats to all the recent posters! I had my booking appointment on Saturday, I know I’m only 7ish weeks but I skipped a period in November so they’re wanting to rule out me being already 11 weeks and insisted on seeing me asap. Guess I shouldn’t complain!
Had a bit of a scare today as I had a small blob of red blood mixed in with CM. A tentative Google seems to suggest it’s more likely to be ok than not so I’m trying not to spiral. Sorry you’re experiencing bleeding too @Soopyjoopy it really is so stressful particularly when like me you had no bleeding in previous pregnancy. I’ve got an early private scan booked for Saturday, really hoping I don’t see any more blood between now and then. šŸ¤ž

Soopyjoopy · 03/01/2023 22:01

@cinnamonbiscuit
Yes that's similar to how my first bit was on Sunday mixed with CM, since then if I've had any it's just been a very pale pink colour when wiping. I had one tiny spot when wiping during whole of first pregnancy, and then had a bit after the internal scan - it was following this I was told about the blood vessels in the cervix and the probe would have irritated it, things such as bowel movements can do the same. I'm trying to be hopeful but it's so hard and I don't want to kid myself and set myself up for a big crash

Purpleunicorn35 · 04/01/2023 06:43

Hi all
I'm due 13 Sept but expecting and hoping for a c section a week or two before as I had a previous section with my daughter, now 8.

Having terrible morning sickness and insomnia didn't have this first time around.

I'm 38, my partner doesn't have any children so very exciting for us - are others considering an earlier scan? 12 weeks seems like so far off!

allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 07:44

Hi @Purpleunicorn35 tou sound pretty similar to me. I’m not long turned 38 and will be my partners first too. I have a 7 year old with ex husband and wanting a section too after having an emcs with my daughter for various reasons. I do not want to go through that again.

I’ve got pretty much constant nausea but not been actually sick which is exactly what I felt with my daughter. I get heartburn lots and my boobs have got bigger and sore. I struggle to get to sleep at night but then struggle to get up in the morning. I’m constantly shattered apart from bedtime šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Morag202287 · 04/01/2023 08:13

@CMG92 Hi not really just what I mentioned. Other than a dull pain in my back occasional cramp nothing severe though. @Ellenn you will be counting down to the scan then! Such a nervy wait. Strange how epu won't see you or have that option!
However gals, last night I went for a pee and i wiped and saw a small amount of red blood not alot just on wiping (wiped twice defo red) absolute panic. I know this is common but I have the fear. No cramps no pain etc. I called triage as epu is shut they told me to call back in an hour ( not sure why tbh lol) and take pain killers even though I said not in pain. Within the hour I went to the toilet twice no red nothing, again during the night around 2am nothing and just awake now and nothing. Strange, it's definitely not what happened the last times so that's a positive, calling epu at 9 see if I can get seen today. Terrified I'm gonna go n something bad has happened. Xx

Morag202287 · 04/01/2023 08:28

@Soopyjoopy I am so sorry your having to experience this! Sending you so much love. And prayers. Your doing the right thing thinking or trying to be positive. I feel how you do the now. Its worrying, the only positive I can take from mine is ut happened one time last night and nothing since and different to how my mc have happened in the passed I am clinging on to hope . Keep us updated.
