Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@Soopyjoopy how many dpo are you now? I little bit of blood is completely normal I wouldn’t worry at the moment unless you have other signs. Both my very early miscarriages/CP’s I had spotting (blood not mixed with CM) which quickly changed to red bleeding and I had cramping with it and at that stage (when bleeding started) my tests were negative/extremely faint squinter

Soopyjoopy · 01/01/2023 13:52

@allgoodthings84
24dpo now. Not really any other symptoms that I'm aware of, in fact not really any at all which worries me as not even sore boobs etc. I suppose time will tell :(

allgoodthings84 · 01/01/2023 14:00

@Soopyjoopy I had no symptoms with my daughter until 6.5 weeks. I didn’t even know I was pregnant until then and it was only the shot way I felt at that point that I realised it had been awhile since a period so took a test. I felt nothing at all until that point. This time I’ve only got sore boobs and sometimes feel a bit sick. I know it’s scary I’m constantly on edge but just got to take it at this stage that unless we have a proper big bleed that it’s ok.

LuckyStar511 · 01/01/2023 16:21

@Soopyjoopy try not to stress although I know that’s so much easier said than done. Your blood work was looking great. Pink cm, light spotting etc. can be normal in early pregnancy even though it is alarming to see.
Try to relax and put your mind at ease x

Happy new year everyone. Just catching up and glad to see lots of chatter on here! Been in bed for the last few days with a cold, trying to drink enough fluids and eat healthily between sleeping.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow which in my head is a little milestone. Anyone else finding it hard to actually equate the little positive line on the stick with there being an actual baby in 8 months time? Doesn't seem real yet. I also feel like it's too early to be doing anything but waiting for the first scans and appointments, like buying anything or making any plans, which probably adds to that unreal feeling. Just a weird time all around!

Owlgirl14 · 01/01/2023 23:14

@DandelionPockets Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly. You're Definately doing the right thing though and hopefully you'll feel better soon.

I'll be 6 weeks on Tuesday and that's our next little milestone, and then have a doctors appointment at 7 weeks and hoping to book a private scan for just after 8 weeks. I don't think it will feel real until the scan and hoping all is ok. Would be good to get some early reassurance.

It's Definitely a weird time, I think the initial shock and adrenaline has worn off for me and now thinking about what lies ahead, it's all happened so quickly and I don't really feel ready but trying to take it a day at a time.

The exhaustion, headaches and nausea has kicked in for me this past week too. The bloating is a lot too!

Hi all,

I’m 5 weeks today and very nervous after two miscarriages earlier in the year.

I don’t have many symptoms yet but have uncomfortable lower back pain today. Has anyone else had this?

I've had this! It's quite irritating, especially when im at work!

froglou · 01/01/2023 23:42

Just been having a read through, my scans also the 20th Feb, it simultaneously seems far away and soon! My last pregnancy, I remember the appointment at Kings taking forever! Ive had to tell work for safety reasons already (I work with X-rays and GA gases, although haven't told the big boss yet!) but I'm trying to work out if it's actually just worth me booking a day off or if I'm just remembering it wrong when I tell them appointment dates 🤣

It seems like lots of you are going for early scans, that's exciting! Not going to lie if I could afford it I would!

My nausea had actually faded a bit in the last week I'm hoping it stays that way, although I'd swap the absolute tiredness and fatigue away for the vomiting back!

Morag202287 · 02/01/2023 08:34

@Soopyjoopy I know it's easier said than done, Try not to worry. Pink can be normal along with brown too. In my experience my last ones all turned quickly red, heavy and cramp. So I am a worrier with the smallest of anything. If you have any worries atall can you call your EPU? Do you have any severe cramps etc? I think between 6 and 10 they say it can be the worrying time. Hope you are ok.

Reading some comments and yeah 6 weeks is my milestone too, I've always miscarried between 5 and 6 never completely went over 6 without the heavy bleed and cramps. Constant watching when going to the loo, still feels a bit surreal, praying u see good news on Thursday. Xx

FarmBaby3 · 02/01/2023 08:35

How did I miss this group. I set up a September group as I couldn't find anything!

Hi!

Looks like my due date will be 8th September based on period (I think 13th based on ovulation). That puts me at 4 weeks and 4 days. No real symptoms yet.

Mountainview8 · 02/01/2023 08:42

@FarmBaby3 welcome!

After a MMC last year I'm considering a private 8 week scan for reassurance, but now I'm worried in case all is not well. Does anyone know, would I have to wait for the NHS 12 week scan or could I go to the EPU if things didn't look right?

FarmBaby3 · 02/01/2023 08:47

@Soopyjoopy how many weeks pregnant are you?
How are you feeling today? Pregnancy is worrying.

Morag202287 · 02/01/2023 08:50

@Mountainview8 hi Mrs, not sure what area you are from reading alot are different. In my area based on my history I am seen at 6 weeks or around, because of medical history and ectopic but I got scanned at 5 aswell due to pain as higher risk of another ectopic ( didn't see anything exciting tho) . Usually you would only be seen if you have heavy bleeding alongside pain on going. You could always book the 8 week private though alot of people do otherwise you are waiting 12 weeks which I know is quite long. X

Morag202287 · 02/01/2023 08:52

Congratulations @FarmBaby3 . All I know is August for me no exact date as midwives will let me know not sure when the date scan takes place I think 12 , but thinking since I'm being seen regular hopefully thy tell me sooner. X

Moni81 · 02/01/2023 09:00

Hi everyone, I am 5 weeks 2 days, due 2nd of September, hopefully August lol. It's surprise pregnancy, I turn 42 tomorrow, my other daughters are 10 and 13.

Morag202287 · 02/01/2023 09:02

@Moni81 congratulations. And happy birthday for tomorrow. Xx

Moni81 · 02/01/2023 09:12

Thank you Morgan, congratulations to you too. Just wondered about scan and all that. I know people on here are from different places, I'm in UK and things changed since I last was pregnant. Went to go, had to fill up form, choose hospital and apparently first midwife appointment is at 16 weeks after scan. The only thing now is I am waiting for gp nurse to call me, that's it. Im not really in rush with scan so will skip private, just wondered how things vary across board here when it comes to appointments.

Morag202287 · 02/01/2023 09:23

Wow that sounds alot different to my area.. I'm in Scotland, we can call our community midwives register with them and they talk us through what needs done, but also we call down to maternity gove them our details etc. Epu if needed. But if not its just like registering with our midwives n 12 week scan booked. I think some people call gp too. But personally for me I havent I've only been in contact with epu. All going well Thursday I'll call n register with midwives and they send out wee packs for us. When the gp nurse calls you I would ask if anything else you need to do at this point, and just book things in that you need too. Just remember though if any concerns you can call epu for advice or if you need seen early for concerns or that . Xx

Moni81 · 02/01/2023 09:30

I live near Manchester, Liverpool. Hospital I picked has midwifes working with my GP, so I guess it's all coordinated. Nurse will arrange hospital and midwifes apparently. Just wait and see what this call is about. I think I may also get obstetrician appointments due to my age...at least that's what I read lol

Morag202287 · 02/01/2023 09:43

@Moni81 aw perfect so hopefully its all just sorted for you then. I will ask more questions once I have this scan this week, I don't want to jump ahead given my losses, its a shame because my history has taken the excitement away from what I should feel, swaps it for nerves and anxiety and constant dread in early pregnancy of something going wrong. Hopefully this on sticks it out xx

Moni81 · 02/01/2023 09:56

Morag I completely understand, with losses and trying hard to get pregnant it will definitely make you more nervous and anxious. I on the other hand try not to think too much about this pregnancy, at my age anything can happen. Obviously will be happy if baby sticks around but rate of miscarriage and complications is high over 40....just don't even want to think about it.

Shinea · 02/01/2023 10:00

I had early scan today at 6w 0d, Lucky to see heartbeat though it's just picking up and at 92 bpm!! I would be booking 8 weeks scan too šŸ¤ž

Londongirl87 · 02/01/2023 10:08

Hi everyone! 5+3 for me here and catching up with the messages!

Welcome @FarmBaby3 and @Moni81 !

@Shinea So nice that you got to see the heartbeat!

@Soopyjoopy How are you feeling today? Did the spotting / bleeding stop? I hope you feel a bit better :-)

FarmBaby3 · 02/01/2023 10:08

@Moni81 I'm in Scotland and I phone GP who puts referral to midwife. I can go to one of two hospitals so once I pick hospital the midwife linked to that hospital will do booking in appointment around 8 weeks and book scan.
Booking in for us involves bloods being taken, height, weight, blood pressure, past history including previous pregnancies and previous births. Expect to be asked if you are safe at home at every appointment.

Moni81 · 02/01/2023 10:17

FarmBaby, with my previous pregnancies I had midwife first then scan I think, this time it's the other way round. I don't know maybe nurse take all initial info, will find on Wednesday. Also I may see obstetrician before midwife, it's all just guessing at this point.
