Just in case anyone isn't aware of what's to come, this thread is hilarious

Just woken up after an absolutely awful nights sleep and am dying at this thread 😂😂😂

iratepirate · 26/11/2022 07:38

@Choc2022 tbh Black Friday seems to have completely passed me by this year. I was so busy at work this week that I’ve barely had time to go online for fun.
I don’t think there’s anything we need as we’ve kept nearly everything from previous DC, so I’m not actively looking for anything this time.

hol92 · 26/11/2022 18:44

Ah I really wanted to get the pram sorted for Black Friday! I’m between icandy and buggaboo I’ve basically just been asking people I know as I have no idea what one to get haha Any recommendations? realllly need it sorting over this weekend 🙈 xx

Noodle20 · 26/11/2022 19:12

@hol92 we had a bugaboo for our son and am keeping it for this one with a buggy board. I love it, we found the Icandy just too big and bulky really.
What kind of terrain will you be using it on? We live mostly residential but have used it in the woods/forest/beach with absolutely no issues at all. It folds away nicely in the boot of my lil hatchback car too.

hol92 · 26/11/2022 19:27

@Noodle20 that sounds great! We are mostly residential to but right near the beach so we are always on there and in the woods when we went to the shop they recommended icandy peach as a good off road buggy but so many other people have said buggaboo :) so I’m definitely swaying to that x

Noodle20 · 26/11/2022 19:49

@hol92 it's so easy to switch the handlebars over to make it super easy on the beach without having to move your child. I really rate mine hence keeping it and recommending.
Can you go and test drive them both to see how they feel? We managed to see an icandy in the flesh and a friend had a bugaboo which we could test drove and there was a clear winner for us. Plus the handlebars raised high enough for my 6ft3 husband to be able see I push without feeling hunched over. Not sure the icandy can do that - they certainly never told us in the shop so can't say they def don't

Babynum2 · 26/11/2022 19:56

@hol92 I had a bugaboo with my first and I absolutely loved it! Cost us a lot of money but I got a limited edition white one (yes I know what was I thinking but I was 18) really wish I didn't sell it and kept it!!

TeddyBeans · 26/11/2022 20:15

Well DD was a pain in the butt today. My 4D scan this afternoon and she decided not only to cover her face with her arm, but to also get her foot in the way once we'd been sent on a walk to try and get her moving. Only my DC could be so bloody awkward. Trying for a rescan on Thursday evening - I don't hold out much hope

The only thing I managed to get sorted in black Friday sale is a coffee grinder 😂 but I figure caffeine will be a requirement post pregnancy even more so than before!

We were meant to be sorting out a buggy but after being ill with covid all week the thought of going to Oxford st with everyone shopping is just too much even if I am negative now I'm still full of cough!

Perexi · 26/11/2022 20:41

Oh no @TeddyBeans she's really photo shy isn't she!

LittleAcorn20 · 26/11/2022 20:42

@hol92 icandy peach over here and we loved it, but nothing to compare it too. I loved how easily it pushed, glided along! And we went for that because of its all terrain wheels.

@TeddyBeans she's really making a name for herself your little girl 😅 every single scan she hides 😂 camera shy bless her!

TeddyBeans · 26/11/2022 20:44

@Perexi could be shy, could be a stubborn mare - I really don't know at this stage 🙁

@LittleAcorn20 I'm on the verge of renaming her Heidi

Are 4d scans private scans? Im still not sure if I feel kicks/movements and could do with weekly scans for reassurance!

With the bugaboo/icandy - how long did you use them for? Did you get a seperate stroller down the line?

It seems buggys are either the 'cheaper' end (but not actually cheap at all) or the £700 plus range which seems a bit steep - or am I being naive? Ideally I'd like the £500 range but the higher end ones just look so nice!!

havanamama · 26/11/2022 22:14

Weekly scans are not recommended unless needed to my awareness

4D is private

Noodle20 · 26/11/2022 22:25

@Choc2022 we're still using ours and he's just turned 2, we've not felt the need for a stroller at all

LittleAcorn20 · 26/11/2022 22:33

@Choc2022 think you're about right with what you say.
Depends how fussy you are about second hand (we had a second hand Mamas and Papas stroller type thing once DD was older and it's been excellent, for £80)
And also how fussy you are on colour/design. Our icandy peach was around £600 from memory, but we had it in a discontinued colour in a sale on John Lewis. It's mustard yellow and it's very vibrant but I love it!! Can't wait to have it back out 💛
There are some bargains to be had if you're willing to shop around and compromise on colour I think 😊

Room4onemore · 26/11/2022 22:49

I’ve gone for the icandy orange double, can’t wait to pick it up the end of January

Choc2022 · 26/11/2022 23:06

Not sure why I called it buggy, I meant pram/pushchair. Yeah I meant it generally re scans as I feel I need constant reassurance.

@LittleAcorn20 I LOVE mustard yellow! I guess I'll shop around more and see what I can find.

Will deffo check out all the varieties of icandys. I think if it lasts a few years and maybe for baby number 2 (if its meant to be) I dont mind spending.

Cats23 · 26/11/2022 23:57

I had a 'non ' branded for my youngest 2, I loved it but you had to take of the chair from frame everytine to fold it down!!
We used the mini city jogger with 3 youngest !
First out in 08? loved it.

Then new one for Dc in 2015 .
Think it was £280??
Love love love it!!
After #4 we decided no more babies BUT I kept the mini jogger- just because!
And thank God I did as baby#5 will now use it!
Think I changed them from travel system to stroller at age 9months!
We just bought an ICandy peach 3 off my friend for £30!!!!! Its in reasonable condition, some scratches on chrome, I had to replace straps on the seat but thats it,Im looking forward to using it with the carry cot it came with!

Whywhwhy · 27/11/2022 07:05

I forgot to post following my scan but we're a 💙 one!

hol92 · 27/11/2022 08:43

Congratulations :D 💙

is anyone else eating Brie cooked? Or completely avoiding it? I want it a lot as a starter which will be cooked but then worry of the risks! X

Dreamingof3 · 27/11/2022 09:23

@TeddyBeans what a little pest 🤣 very similar to mine, had to have 12 and 20 week rescans due to her hiding behind my placenta and section scar 😒 which is why we've not booked a 4d scan. Wondering if my next scan will go the same way!

@hol92 I would eat it if it's cooked!

Dreamingof3 · 27/11/2022 09:25

24 weeks today 💞
Feeling a bit more movement too which is reassuring but generally feeling rubbish and not sure how I stil have 15ish weeks to go 😱

I would definitely eat it cooked too.

Is it me or is every Christmas set menu starter either patè, smoked salmon or goats cheese!? I’ve got 3 different Christmas meals out booked and the starter choice has been really frustrating. I feel like they should make more effort for the pregnant people- it’s not like I can even enjoy the free booze either 😢
