Had our private 4D scan today to say hello to little baby girl. Don’t know if she’s such a poser or was just happily sleeping - just stayed perfectly still throughout the scan so we had many great photos and even a few smiles!

The sonographer really tried to find the genital, but her legs were crossed and refused to budge despite me doing jumping jacks and going to the loo. It’s not going to be a surprise at birth isn’t it? 😂 I have a low risk pregnancy and it’s unlikely will be offered more scans

Merry Christmas ladies 🎄🤗

Merry Christmas! We've cracked open the Christmas eve box and have started making Santa's cookies already!

Hope everyones enjoyed their day ..my 3 year old had me up most of the night, think she has tonsillitis again!

Enjoying lots of nice food before my gtt on Friday!

havanamama · 25/12/2022 18:44

I’ve got a growth scan next week. Was told this week for the first time that high BMI puts me at a risk of having a small baby. As I was measuring 30 for week 30 on Friday and baby was normal size at 25 week scan, I hope she’s still good and got enough space to grown in my tummy.

anyone else told anything similar?

Blondewave · 25/12/2022 19:33

MattyM5 · 22/12/2022 18:34

@havanamama same! 39 weeks would be the dream. I‘m traumatized by my friend‘s experience - she was overdue and lost the baby 😢 Pregnancy was low risk and everything fine, they just didn’t catch on quickly enough that she needs to be induced. I know that is so rare but it definitely scarred me!
Is anyone thinking of getting induced on their due date if you are not naturally in labour? Is it true that it makes labour more painful?

I got induced and it was horrendous it makes your cervix so unnaturally raw. Also takes longer as body is being forced to do something it doesn’t want to do. Also leads to more intervention - I ended up with a rotational forceps & shoulder dystocia - my son had to be resuscitated. I am convinced all this was due to the fact my body wasn’t ready for him to come out and he was not in the optimum position as it was a false / induced labour. I’m getting a c section this time at 39 weeks due to a risk of shoulder dystocia - however if I go into labour early I will be riding it out. As convinced the induction is what messed it up. If baby is healthy and fine no reason you’d have to go through the pain of induction. X

dmb91 · 25/12/2022 20:03

Hope everyone's had a lovely day!

Our last quiet Christmas was much quieter than expected, I'm stuck home with covid 😷

Dreamingof3 · 26/12/2022 14:06

@havanamama I was always made.to believe the opposite?! High BMI means bigger baby! How do we know what to trust when they all tell us different things 😂
Got my first growth scan on Friday and nervous for it to go either way tbh!

havanamama · 26/12/2022 15:39

@Dreamingof3 I thought so too!! It’s not like anyone has measured my visceral fat or space in my abdomen, very cofusing!
But I get an extra scan, so not complaining, better safe and more informed

Cats23 · 26/12/2022 18:58

@havanamama , I too am terrified of going over- I sadly know 4 woman who had low risk pregnanacies , werent induced and all had still born babies.
I am high risk though and have insisted Im induced on my due date if Baby hasnt arrived (dc1 born 27weeks , dc2 -38weeks, dc3&4 induced on due date both borm next day, this baby I will be induced at 40weeks too!)

Babynum2 · 26/12/2022 20:22

I have had upset stomach all day today think I overdone the food. Not great when my HG is still really bad to so both ends (tmi). I feel extremely uncomfortable and my house is upside down just don't know what to do with myself its horrible.

Baby2iscooking · 27/12/2022 08:36

Just to give a more positive spin on induction, I was induced with dd1 at 37 weeks due to small growth. The process took long especially being my first, she wasn’t born for 5 days after induction started but the induction process was fine, I had a nice labour and she was born perfectly healthy. I did have to have an episiotomy but that would of happened most likely anyway as I’m very small!

Room4onemore · 27/12/2022 08:47

Induction, I’ve been induced on my due date in my last 2 pregnancies. Both born on the day I’ve been on their due date, quick labours. I got induced at 36+3 with another daughter due to slow growth and episodes of no movement . I’m not going to lie that was painful because my body wasn’t ready, I should have opted for an epidural lol

havanamama · 27/12/2022 09:53

I was not terrified of going over, what’s terrified me now is how many of you write here about stillbirths.
I might need to step back from here for a few days, as that just gives me unnecessary anxiety.
