@Eastybaby19 My first was born at 36 weeks naturally went into labour and she weighed 7.11lb. I'm so glad I didn't go full term

Cdoc · 19/12/2022 07:26

@Thirdtimesacharm3 sorry to hear you have had it too! Hopefully it has stopped and just a one off? It can be so worrying!

TeddyBeans · 19/12/2022 07:55

I'm officially counting down now instead of up. 9 weeks and 6 days left til due date 😱 I can't believe how fast it's going. Little miss has had a quiet weekend but she's still hit the 10 movements in an hour so I've not needed to get monitored.

I've managed to convince DP to put the cot up on the 27th when DS goes to his dad's. We got a couple more bits out of my parents' loft last night. It's all starting to come together 🥰 I feel like the next few weeks are going to fly by and soon we'll be getting birth announcements!!

Is there a Facebook group I missed earlier on? I feel there was. I keep forgetting to check updates on here! I’m 25 weeks but they are thinking of inducing at 37 weeks so technically could only have 13 weeks left! Seems crazy now 😬

AK93 · 19/12/2022 08:56

@TeddyBeans
It really won't be long for you!!!

I still feel so unprepared! We currently have an unusable living room whilst waiting for plaster to finish drying then we've got painting and flooring and new radiators to sort ASAP...we've also got my partner's mum staying on and off over next couple of weeks so we can't use the room she's in to store anything, had to take stuff out and put in baby room for her to be able to stay🙈 I would've put off her staying with us but don't have a choice and my partner would be sad if he didn't get to see her. The house is packed with stuff everywhere, but I want to start getting the baby bits sooner rather than later!
I'm 27 weeks atm but I'm starting to wonder if we'll be sorted in time!!

I wonder if anyone else is really not anywhere near ready yet? 😆

I do look forward to seeing the announcements though and hope everyone is doing ok!

@AK93 sounds like you're in the thick of it at the moment! Fingers crossed everything comes together just in time 😁 these things always tend to come good at the 11th hour!

@Thirdtimesacharm3 same for me, I really didn’t expect first ever bleeding/spotting in pregnancy to be so so late!
Thankfully I’ve had no more, feeling good, and baby is moving as normal. 😮‍💨

mrshenny · 19/12/2022 10:04

Hello please can I be added to the calendar! I'm due March 22nd, my second baby girl 💕

Room4onemore · 19/12/2022 10:06

Hi ladies, the countdown is on 😀 we finished paying for the pushchair on Saturday, will collect it in about 4 weeks. I ordered the Moses basket from mamas and papas yesterday, and bought some lovely knitted blankets from the that were half price

Dreamingof3 · 19/12/2022 10:29

I feel like due date is absolutely ages away.mmbut I know it'll start coming round quickly! 27 weeks now. We've got our big bits, travel system, next to me etc just need to get all the little bits and probably make a list for hospital bags to get organised, but think I'll get Xmas out of the way first

Struggling so much with my hips, finishing work 7th Jan (bit of holiday to take and then mat leave) and I can't wait ☺️

Perexi · 19/12/2022 12:21

We are not ready - at all!

We have a pram and some clothes, we are going to borrow a lot of things like crib etc. Our spare room is basically our WFH room so one desk has to go and be decluttered.

Looking at getting one of those chest of drawers things with a changing station on top I think just need to pick one! I feel like there's a lot to do and it's a bit overwhelming hopefully the Christmas break will help as I'm working right up to the due date.

havanamama · 19/12/2022 13:00

@Perexi I am looking to buy a chest of draws too next week so we can put all the washed clothes, towels, bedding, etc for baby in there.

I’ve been reading my labour/baby books today. My goal is to have all my courses and books done by the end of the year, so all that’s left in 2023 is the first aid course and baby safety course we have booked,
plus putting together the crib and packing hospital bags.

allthingssparkly · 19/12/2022 13:05

Had my first growth scan today and baby has been plotted on the 90th centile at 29 weeks 🙈 I could be in for a big baby and I'm anxious about it!

My previous children were born with weights of 7lbs 4oz and 7lbs 2oz.

Anyone else having growth scans in their pregnancy?

Cdoc · 19/12/2022 13:14

@allthingssparkly I’m not supposed to be having growth scans, however had a 4d scan on Saturday at 29 weeks and the abdomen was measuring 89th percentile 🙈and other measurements all over 70th even though they were all 50th at my 20 week scan. They’re now sending me for a diabetes test to be sure, so there goes the Christmas chocolate!

This is my first so I’m a bit worried about the size 😞
Quite a few friends have told me growth scans tend to overpredict the weight, so hopefully it’s just that for you!

havanamama · 19/12/2022 13:18

@allthingssparkly I have 2 growth scans - one in Jan and one in Feb.( 32 and 36 weeks I believe)

in my 12,20,25 week scans no one has commented or disclosed the percentile info, only said that baby has long legs.
I also don’t have gestational diabetes, but both me and my husband were 4+kg babies, and I have a high BMI, so not sure what to expect.

Dreamingof3 · 19/12/2022 13:31

I have my first growth scan next week.

My eldest was predicted to be 9lb...she was 10lb5. My second was predicted to be 8phs, she was 7lb7! No idea what to expect this time which is why I've stopped buying clothes 🤣

I'm in the exact same boat, there's no room in our wfh room lol so need to wait until feb to dismantle my desk so it's just my partners desk in there with all the baby stuff lol. We bought a changing table from ikea purely just so we had some spare drawers to put baby clothes in, and then the only thing we have bought since is a love2dream swaddle bag lol

@Room4onemore good luck tomorrow, hope it all goes well!

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 19/12/2022 20:06

@allthingssparkly i also had a growth scan today (was v reassuring to talk to midwives after yesterday mornings spotting episode). Baby’s boys head on 97th centile and abdomen on 95th. Going back for another one at 34 weeks. My first two sons also measured big (not that big!) and were 8lbs 9 and 8lbs 2. I had blood glucose taken today too so fingers crossed I don’t have GD.

TeddyBeans · 19/12/2022 21:40

I'm quite looking forward to having growth scans (they've booked me 3) as I never got that with DS. I had no idea what kind of weight I should expect him to be so having an idea for DD will be nice. Just hoping she doesn't get too big - my fundal measurement at 29 weeks put her at around 4lbs already on the chart 😬

OP posts:
LittleAcorn20 · 19/12/2022 21:47

@allthingssparkly I had my first growth scan at 28+4 and baby measured 90th centile too with head over the top line (97th - like yours @Thirdtimesacharm3, wish us luck pushing those top centile heads out 🤦‍♀️).
From the graph it looks as though the baby delivered on time would be around 8lb 5.

My DD was just over 6lb born at 40+2, she was 8th centile and is the reason I'm being told I need growth scans, plus my low bmi. Seems DDs sibling wants to be at the other end of the chart! I have sooooo many lovely clothes in tiny baby size from her that I will feel sad if they don't get used again! I will have to console myself with selling them on Vinted and using the proceeds for more baby clothes 😂

And as far as the ready/not ready for baby discussion goes. I am so NOT READY and starting to freak out! 10 weeks to go and it's like I've suddenly realised I'm pregnant. I kept putting things off thinking I'd look at and sort everything after Christmas but now I just feel like I have Christmas chaos among sheer panic that I have a baby coming in just a couple of months.

TeddyBeans · 19/12/2022 22:35

@LittleAcorn20 get an Amazon basket going for bits you need that might be reduced in the boxing Day sales 😁 nothing wrong with adding bits as you go! I know how you feel re baby clothes. I saved a whole load of my favourite outfits from DS and I won't get to use them at all - they're far too boyish for me to ever entertain putting a little girl in them
