I’ve got my midwife appointment in a week and half then a growth scan on the 20th, bet I’m having a bigger baby again

Perexi · 03/12/2022 11:50

I've been in the office the last 3 day's in all day meetings as someone who has worked from home exclusively since 2020 wow commuting and in person meetings when pregnant are a lot 😂 just 5 more day's and then I'm back in my WFH bubble! Dreamy.

I had covid last week and the midwife team put me on blood thinning injections for 10 day's until there was going to be another check with me that I recovered, which I thankfully did but I didn't get the call to check all ok. No issues as I know they are busy so I emailed them just to check what the deal is with the injections....they have said to complete the course but there's the issue the initial midwife said injections for 10 day's but the hospital provided me with a month of injections and told me to continue getting them from my GP. I don't really want to be injecting myself if I don't need to be but don't want to stop if I should be taking them! I don't have an appointment until Monday week for the diabetes check but also don't want to keep emailing them....

hol92 · 03/12/2022 19:06

Is anyone else suffering from any pain just above there belly button? It kind of feels like a pinching uncomfortable pain I actually have a hernia near that area but pretty sure it’s not that as it doesn’t hurt when I press it, just wondered if anyone had anything similar? I’m 24 weeks xx

Dreamingof3 · 04/12/2022 08:53

@Room4onemore what size was your previous? My first was 'large for gestational age' and my second was born on 31st centile so I'm not sure what to expect with this one 😂

Room4onemore · 04/12/2022 09:26

@Dreamingof3 i have 7 and this is their weights
8lb (40+9)
9lb 15ozs (40+8)
8lb 11ozs (40+7)
7lb 14ozs (40+5)
6lb 3ozs ( born at 36+3)
9lb (40)
9lb 8 (40)

I would love a smaller baby lol

Dreamingof3 · 04/12/2022 10:07

@Room4onemore some lovely chunky ones in there! My second was 7lb7 so a really average weight but she felt absolutely tiny compared to her sister who was 10lb5 😂 we had to call my mum to bring bigger clothes and nappies to the hospital when she was born!
I would like to have another 7lbish baby this time, although as long as she's healthy of course it doesn't really matter.

Room4onemore · 04/12/2022 10:24

@Dreamingof3 when I had my early baby and she was small for me, I was so careful with her I didn’t know what to do with such a small baby lol, I buy upto 10lb clothes now with just 1 pack of newborn just incase lol

allthingssparkly · 04/12/2022 15:26

Does the 3rd trimester start at week 27 or week 28? 🤍

TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 15:54

@allthingssparkly all the timelines on my apps are into the 3rd section already but I have lots of 'congratulations, you're in your third trimester' as of today so either I think 🤷‍♀️ don't really know (28 weeks today)

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 04/12/2022 17:46

Thanks @TeddyBeans The app I have been using says I'll be entering the 3rd trimester tomorrow (when I will be 27 weeks)

I honestly can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going!

Babynum2 · 04/12/2022 18:48

I'm 27 weekd today and according to app I'm 3rd trimester.

I really don't know what to expect with weight because I've never gone full term my first was 7.11lb (36 weeks) and second was 5.5lb (34 weeks).

TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 18:48

@allthingssparkly this is my ovia app today, you can see the timeline at the top and my 'ovation' at the bottom 😂

@TeddyBeans you can see babies name if you didn't notice!

I use baby centre app I just can't believe have fast its gone just think get Christmas out the way and then 2 months and we are all going to start having our babies!

allthingssparkly · 04/12/2022 19:20

@Babynum2 isn't it crazy how time has flown 🥺

Still got lots of little bits to get for baby but thinking of waiting till after Christmas, hopefully time will slow down so I can actually take a minute to think and get things done for the nursery 🤣

TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 19:42

@Babynum2 that's okay, we're set on it and we're quite open about sharing when people ask 😊

It's bonkers how fast it's going. I have 2 weeks until Xmas holidays and then my maternity leave starts!

Babynum2 · 04/12/2022 19:56

@TeddyBeans it's lovely I'm still stuck on a name I have an Isla and a Ralphie so little man needs a name to match I like the name Arnie but my mums put me off saying Arnold schwarzenneger. Knowing my history baby won't have a name for weeks!

Babynum2 · 04/12/2022 19:59

@allthingssparkly I have everything now but I've not actually had to get much. I've managed to get a lot on Facebook sell site like the baby bath, changing unit and storage but everything else I have been lucky enough to have a big family who got us things. Baby number 3 for us so I think you just automatically buy less because there's things I just never used and clothes still with the tags on that we never got around to wearing because we went OTT! If you wait until after Xmas you might get some good jan bargs

TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 20:16

@Babynum2 oooh I taught a Ralphie a couple of years ago, he was such a lovely, cheeky little sausage 🥰 love the name! I know a few Isla's but none have a brother. The closest relative I can think of was a cousin called Charlie

OP posts:
MattyM5 · 04/12/2022 20:18

@TeddyBeans that is a very lovely name for a little lady 🥰

allthingssparkly · 04/12/2022 20:25

@Babynum2 Ah that's super handy then, I do keep looking on Vinted too as lots of people get clothes from there brand new with tags for super cheap!

We are expecting baby number 3 too, but my children are older now (8+9) so nothing was kept back.

We have bought the big things, like cot bed, pram, car seat and snuzpod. It's mainly clothes, baby monitor and baby bath that we are yet to purchase. I've bought a few baby clothes when I've spotted things I like but I'm struggling with nice but simple boys clothes 🙈🙈

MattyM5 · 04/12/2022 20:26

Hi all, was wondering if anyone has any book recommendations specifically focused on the postpartum period? I tend to find lots on pregnancy and birth, but nothing much that I feel would support a clueless first time mum for the weeks/months after that 🙋🏼‍♀️

TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 20:42

@MattyM5 thank you 😊 all the grandparents love it and DS has been telling everyone he knows mummy's got a baby girl in her tummy and her name is Isabelle 😂

I never read any books in my last pregnancy but a friend suggested one called expecting better which I think went into the postpartum period but don't quote me on it

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 20:44

@allthingssparkly I hated the baby bath 😬 they're so slippery when they're wet, I was terrified of dropping/drowning DS! I got an angel care bath ramp in the end and found it so much easier and less anxiety inducing come bath time. You can usually pick them up on marketplace for a few quid

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 04/12/2022 20:47

@MattyM5 I lied 🙈 after a quick Google I think it was actually this one

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 04/12/2022 20:58

@TeddyBeans Yes it will be the AngelCare Bath Seat I purchase, I had one with my other two they're brilliant!
