I only bought 2-3 clothing items as fortunately got loads and loads handed down from friends and colleagues.

ChristmasJumpers · 01/12/2022 14:51

We've been so lucky with hand me downs so far. And my mum buys either a pack of nappies or some clothes alongside every weekly shop. Most things we've bought have been second hand too so I'm feeling very organised and frugal so far 😂

ToffeeEl · 01/12/2022 15:09

@Dreamingof3 i know what you mean with the big meal, I just look like that but feeling very cramped in!

so sweet seeing everyone’s bumps feels more real then

Due March 2023 - thread 5
Babynum2 · 01/12/2022 15:23

My partner doesn't like the bump he won't touch it he also would rather not have to come hospital when I go into labour also. He was useless last 2 times he hates anything like that if he had it his way baby would come out clean, bathed and in a babygrow. Brilliant dad regardless of all this😂

Babynum2 · 01/12/2022 15:37

Also anyone else really ache between their legs and down below? I remember having this towards the end but not at 26 weeks I feel like I'm really waddling.

Moonlighting · 01/12/2022 16:21

Hi everyone hope it’s ok to join, I’m due 30/03 and we’re expecting a little boy 😊 It’s my first. I’ve been stalking the various threads for months now but I was paranoid that if I joined I’d somehow jinx it (crazy, I know).

But I’m just so excited about my little bobble I have to share it with other people who get it! Does anyone else feel like their little one already has a personality? I know I’m probably just projecting but mine always joins in when I’m singing in the car, gives me a good kicking when I’m still at work after my leaving time and I’m sure he knows my partner’s touch/voice because he goes mad for it. Also having always despised football, I’ve found myself watching random World Cup matches with some interest which I’m suspicious is also baby manipulating me telepathically lol 😂

So cute to see everyone‘s bumps. Feel like I’m still in that ‘has she had a massive meal?’ phase but I suppose it’s only a matter of time before I pop too.

Dreamingof3 · 01/12/2022 19:14

@Moonlighting yes my little one is very awkward already 😂 congratulations on your little boy!

TeddyBeans · 01/12/2022 20:49

Little lady was having none of it again today ☹️ so bitterly disappointed. We got downgraded to a wellbeing scan so got a decent refund but still gutted I don't get to see her little face

My diabetes test came out positive 😭not suprised given my lifestyle but still disappointed and sad.

Choc2022 · 02/12/2022 02:19

My diabetes test came out positive 😭not suprised given my lifestyle but still disappointed and sad.

What does that mean?

LittleAcorn20 · 02/12/2022 08:10

@Babynum2 I get the exact same ache around my lower pelvis, inner upper thighs. Sooooo sore.
Have been having it for weeks now, since early October id say (don't remember how many weeks that was but in 27wks now)
In Dublin on a city break at the minute and wondering how I'll do any walking today 🤦‍♀️ it's absolutely crippling.
Hurts to roll over in bed or to bend down and get anything from floor. Didn't have it at all with DD.

@TeddyBeans gutted that you didn't get your proper scan again. She's keeping you waiting, and it will be so worth it 😊

@Moonlighting hi and congrats. Brilliant little observations about personality 😊 I think you're on to something! I love musicals and went to see Waitress just before pandemic stopped all fun plans while I was growing my first baby. She kicked persistently through the whole show and now she is 2 she loves it when I have musicals playlists on and knows the words to a couple of songs from Waitress so sings along which is sweet.
Baby number 2 I've decided is going to be very active (never stops kicking and rolling) and cause me a lot of bother (so many complications and medical appts compared to my first easy pregnancy)

TeddyBeans · 02/12/2022 08:20

@Choc2022 hopefully a few dietary changes can keep it under control and you can stay off meds 😊

Babynum2 · 02/12/2022 08:54

@LittleAcorn20 yes hurts to get out the car roll over ect. I've had a look on Google sounds like PGP I have consultant app next week so going to ask her what she thinks because you can get belts to help.

havanamama · 02/12/2022 09:29

Don’t you have to do a 2nd (combined) glucose tolerance test if the first one is failed?

I'm currently in my test and the drink was quite nice 😂😂

Dreamingof3 · 02/12/2022 09:44

@Choc2022 sorry to hear that, it's a complete bummer isn't it. I had gd in my last pregnancy, passed my 16 week one this time but have another at 28 weeks that I'm not so confident about! It was tough but I stayed diet controlled the whole way through and remember that even if you do need medication, it's nothing you've done wrong, it's all hormones x

Bobduncan · 02/12/2022 10:29

@Babynum2 I have these sorts of pains too and it makes it so horrible to walk! My midwife said it was the uterus stretching which pulls on the ligaments of the pelvis (or something along those lines!) Unfortunately she just said grin and bare it 😕 I'm finding nice baths and hot water bottles help. Also sleeping with my pregnancy pillow between my legs. She did say it should start to stop hurting in a few weeks time, fingers crossed xx

havanamama · 02/12/2022 10:43

I’ve been recommended to take Magnesium supplements to help with ligament pains

LittleAcorn20 · 02/12/2022 19:01

@Babynum2 I have one of the belts which does help a bit. However I dont wear it loads as it's soooo inconvenient with the billion toilet trips I need.
I mentioned it to midwife but she said about a physio referral and it just seems like the referral would take as long as it takes to get to the end of pregnancy! So I haven't persued it.

iratepirate · 02/12/2022 19:04

I had terrible PGP last time I had a full term pregnancy, and the midwife basically just said there was nothing to be done for it. I had a belt and didn’t find it really helped. Had to remember to sleep with a pillow between my legs, which helped a little.
Hopefully it will ease up for you after the baby is born.

Babynum2 · 02/12/2022 19:39

I have a 12ft pregnancy pillow it's helper at night but getting out of bed in the morning takes me a while. Its mainly walking that's effecting me between the legs just wish it didn't start so soon because I can only imagen how much worse it will get!

LittleAcorn20 · 02/12/2022 21:24

Anyone else got to the stage where they feel starving hungry all the time, eat two bites and then feel so full it makes you feel nauseous? 😂
Want to eat everything, fancy and crave stuff constantly. Eat a bite... Feel like my belly is going to explode and feel 🤢
Forgot about this 😩

Choc2022 · 02/12/2022 23:51

@iratepirate the GTT results were high, the second blood test. I was asked if I could go in that day, had a chat with midwife and started diet plan. Next appointment 10 days time to see if diet is controlling if not medication.

My second reading on GTT was 10 point something. When I spoke to the midwife it was 3 point something.

iratepirate · 03/12/2022 02:04

@Choc2022 ooh; I see. I hope it can be sorted out without needing medication for it.

TeddyBeans · 03/12/2022 09:16

I've got myself a course of antibiotics 🥳 have had a sore throat for a week and nothings worked to shift it so far. Called the Dr yesterday and he put me straight on amoxicillin. Throat's feeling a bit better today so 🤞🤞

28 weeks tomorrow so in the third trimester by all accounts then 😬 got a busy couple of weeks ahead - GTT on Tuesday, midwife appointment the following Monday and my first growth scan on the 4th January. It's going to be nonstop from here to birth I think

Oh I also have my 2hr pregnancy massage today. If anyone is thinking about getting a massage absolutely do it because it is so relaxing 🥰🥰 I'll have to apologise to my poor masseuse before she starts as DP says my snoring is horrendous at the moment 🙈
