@TeddyBeans ah no worries, I know its a bit unusual before 25 so thats reassuring atleast.
Might at Dd is now 19, she didnt have any issue after birth thankfully, though ventilator for a week and cpap for the remaining 12 weeks we were in, You'd never think she had been born so prem, I'm v.greatful.
I cant wait to get passed 27 weeks!

Congratulations :D 💙

is anyone else eating Brie cooked? Or completely avoiding it? I want it a lot as a starter which will be cooked but then worry of the risks! X

Yes I’ve been eating all cheese cooked kills any bacteria...but I’ve also been eating sushi and prawns and Billtong 😂 (from good restaurants) so probs not the best person to ask. Only thing I’m avoiding is alcohol as that & smoking are the only real dangers. The rest are just precautions.

Blondewave · 29/11/2022 15:37

Hello I’m 25 weeks pregnant I work full time mostly office based but in so much pain sitting for so long. I had severely damaged pelvis after my last birth so been getting physio and seeing chiropractor. Thinking of asking for my case load reducing in jan when I’m 30 plus weeks as I’m wanting to work through till both of baby (I’ll know the date as having an elective c section @ 39 weeks) . Is anyone else doing this? X

Babynum2 · 29/11/2022 15:46

@Blondewave I ate what ever I wanted last 2 times my kids are fine but it's just down to you as a person. I'm being super scared to do anything this time due to all my complications.

TeddyBeans · 29/11/2022 15:54

@Blondewave I'm going off on maternity at Christmas to get away from all the germ ridden children 😁 absolutely nothing wrong with asking for a reduced workload!

Yeah exactly - I do think it’s unfair the amount of information piled on pregnant women of things they can’t do. My thing to worry about this time has been caffeine 😂 been turning down cokes as I had pre eclampsia last time and don’t want to do anything that might restrict blood flow to placenta and I’ve read awful things about still birth and caffeine (need to stay off Google) 😂 I’ve had a little glass of wine on special occasions but felt guilty after a few sips. My grandma told me they used to prescribe cans of Guiness for anaemia in pregnancy when she was pregnant and she had 4 healthy children. Things change so much.

It’s so crap isn’t it! Makes you think doesn’t it! So many other people I know have good schemes so annoying considering all the work we do for them! I have been saving as much as I can but sadly our fixed mortgage rate ends in April (great timing!) and looking at all the news articles it will more than double we just don’t know how we will cover it, currently looking at selling up and getting somewhere cheaper but then keep second guessing if it’s the best idea 4 months before giving birth - oh fun times haha! Xx

We are in process of moving house currently im 25 weeks - I’m getting a c section at 39 weeks so second week in March..still no moving date yet but I’m just hoping its at least a month before baby so I can get settled in the new house and unpack before he arrives 🤞🏻We are moving to a bigger house as not much space currently. Not ideal moving when heavily preg but you gotta do what you gotta do...

Cats23 · 29/11/2022 20:24

Midwife called Bp and Urine normal!
As suspected, exhausted and likely need to drink a lot more!

@Cats23 good news!

Is there a cut off point for elective section? Asking out of curiosity since my midwife said we will discuss birth at 36 weeks only.

Dreamingof3 · 29/11/2022 20:47

@havanamama do you mean how late they will do one? I know they generally like to book for 39 weeks as it avoids you going into labour and needing an emergency section, but theoretically you can book it for whenever you want, it's your choice

havanamama · 29/11/2022 20:48

No, I mean if they would book one at 36 weeks for 39 weeks for example, as that’s such a short notice to me for a planned surgery.

Franklin321 · 29/11/2022 20:53

@havanamama if you want an elective you can mention it at your next midwife appointment and they should do a consultant referral to discuss it further. I’m having an elective and mentioned it at my booking in appointment, you don’t have to wait till 36 weeks

ChristmasJumpers · 29/11/2022 22:08

Is anyone struggling with round ligament pain? I started with quite a sore pain in my lower right abdomen tonight while at the cinema (literally just adjusted my position and it really hurt out of nowhere!). The pain is getting steadily worse anytime I move so I'm hoping it is round ligament and nothing to worry about

havanamama · 29/11/2022 23:44

@ChristmasJumpers I had it bad when I was sick and kept coughing
now it’s passed

Blondewave · 30/11/2022 06:50

You can mention it however they won’t book you in until 36 weeks with a date. I’m having an elective section due to previous shoulder dystocia and my midwife said we will book you a date at 36 weeks. They can’t book it now they have no idea of the rota or shifts of the doctors etc till closer to the time

havanamama · 30/11/2022 08:06

Oh how interesting! I’ve had a planned surgery before and I had the surgeon’s name and time and place known 10 month before 😂

TeddyBeans · 30/11/2022 09:38

Bleurgh I wish it was easy to know when I should worry about things. I got myself breakfast this morning and had an episode of a good 10 seconds worth of bright floaters in my vision. Blood pressure is 115/77 (perfectly normal which is nice after last week's drama), no swelling, no headaches, etc. But I still don't know whether I should bother my midwife about it.

I've got my GTT next Tuesday and my 28 week appointment the following Monday. Feel like I should just wait but then worried that I'll be told off for having waited and should have called straight away.

On top of that, tinys been less active the last couple of days. She's still wriggling so I'm not worried but it is different. I've put it down to me being unwell (still - 3 weeks in) and her getting the side effects of me being ill. It's all rubbish!

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 30/11/2022 09:54

@TeddyBeans glad your blood pressure is ok! Could that have been a blood sugar thing...if you'd not eaten yet maybe? I've had on and off headaches for ages now and not really worried...maybe I should? I'm seeing my midwife this afternoon so I'll add that to my long list of complaints.

I currently feel like my hip bones are trying to poke out of my skin...very tempted to just get signed off work now as I'm getting limited in what I can manage and id rather do small amounts of things at home than work take up all my strength 🤣

I’m planning on working (a mix of wfh and office based) until the birth tbh.

Oh how interesting! I’ve had a planned surgery before and I had the surgeon’s name and time and place known 10 month before 😂

Yeah planned routine surgeries are different. As the consultants work set days every day. Matnerity is completely different as it’s ‘emergency’ care as babies don’t come when you want them to. Also they slot people into electives earlier based on risk nearer the time so 36 weeks they can accurately gauge that as you are full term then. For example if you’ve got uncontrolled pre eclampsia..you will be first on the list as early as poss. They won’t accommodate to what day you want, as if you were to go into labour naturally you wouldn’t know when it would be or how long you’d be in for, so they expect you to have a plan anyway from 36 weeks of last min childcare etc. They will give you a date at 36 weeks for the week of 39 weeks of pregnancy as a general rule but if you’re not high risk that date ‘could’ be changed last minute. I only know all this as I’m a nurse and worked in elective sections in past x

TeddyBeans · 30/11/2022 10:28

@Dreamingof3 it could well be, the only other episode I've had since my 24 week appointment was when I got up from the floor so maybe I'm moving too quickly 🤷‍♀️🤣 who knows!?

I've been told preeclampsia headaches don't go away with pain meds so if yours are on and off it's probably nothing to worry about but definitely worth mentioning just in case

I did attempt to call triage after my last post but I was #1 in the queue for ages and gave up in the end. The whole time I was in the queue tiny was wriggling away as if to say 'what are you doing you crazy lady!? I'm fine'

I really want to know my surgeons name too 😂 as I know them all and some I don’t want anywhere near me with a knife as I don’t trust them with my life 🤣 but even tho I know everyone I can’t find out anything else got to wait till 36 weeks. They did say as I know people as ex colleagues if it’s a surgeon I don’t trust I can change as it’s a conflict of interest but these are exceptional circumstances x

AK93 · 30/11/2022 11:33

Oh my I hope I don't have the start of insomnia 🙈 on Sunday I thought I felt baby roll around (whatever was going on it felt so strange!) I then thought I felt a couple of kicks (inc with hand on tummy which so far I've barely been able to tell if anything has been kicks at all so I'd be really happy if it was..)
The last two nights I've found it harder to get comfortable in bed as if I'm all squished up and I guess a heaviness to my belly which although I've been overweight most my life my tummy never felt like this or interfered with getting comfortable to sleep lol. But there's also been what I thought was movement, but at times almost feels a bit like the squeezing thats mentioned for Braxton Hicks...it's been like this on and off since bedtime and being my first I have no idea which or if it could be a mix of both! I'm 24 weeks so guess it could be but after waiting ages to think I can finally feel him I'd like to think at least some of it is definitely him moving and I'm able to feel it cause he's moved and pushing against me more. I'm still waiting for a proper baby bump but thinking my excess tummy fat might mean I don't quite get the shape I want! Lol

Anybody had Braxton Hicks who can describe it? I did read that in theory they would stop if you changed position etc . I have my 25w appt on Sunday so hoping midwife can help me figure it out then lol

Also hope I can get more than a few hours sleep each night 🙈

On another note, looked at a few prams yesterday and quite liking the Babylo Panorama XT. Has anybody else got or looked at it?
I feel like after having the little test drive with it that I'll be comfortable with the functions etc and size wise the most likely to fit in the boot, the pram seat does need to come off to fold it but it's fairly light so not too much of a faff I hope. Also within budget and my parents can have the car seat that comes with it as my partner is set on a different car seat for our car, but together it'll only be around £60 over budget from what my partner's Mum said she'd like to give toward a pram, so not bad going I think considering the car seat for our car is one of the most expensive I've seen.
Just for a cot and a form of bedside crib when none will fit next to our current stupidly big bed 🙈 may have to tell my partner we have no choice but to bring my bed from my parents here! Not even sure if a typical Moses basket will fit lol

Hope everyone is ok!
