Pregnant after ivf - 5 weeks

Hi me and a couple of other lucky ladies have got our BFPs following ivf and wanted to create a new thread for others on their early pregnancy journey. I am 5+2 and my first scan is at 6+6. I’m very nervous something will go wrong.

Currently my symptoms are:

• very heavy, swollen, sore breasts
• some morning sickness
• burping and gas
• bloated
• tiredness

Is any with or had an experience with Herts & Essex?

@onethingiwantfor23 so sorry to hear this, hopefully you've got a good crew around you to look after you. We're waiting for the results of my second beta test after a bleed too so think we're out this time too. Quite glad that it's winter and that it's totally socially acceptable to come home from work, put my PJs on and go to bed at 8pm.

I didn't want to post as didn't want to add to anyone else's anxiety but wishing everyone happy news at their upcoming scans, not long to wait now 🤞 xx

@Spink2022 i rang and they haven’t come in yet told me to ring back this evening. The waiting is killing me.

Hoping all is well for you @Sma7ljd bleeds can be quite common with ivf, it could be heamatoma, fingers crossed your levels double 🙏

Still ten days until my scan and other than tiredness and headaches not feeling much at all, making me feel so anxious uch, it's so hard to stay positive isn't it 🙈

@NS05 sickness could hit you at bang on 6 weeks. Enjoy it while it lasts 😂 I was a bit sick and queasy at 5 but I was 6 on weds and since then I’ve been majorly sick twice a day and felt so rough! there doesn’t seem to be any reason for it or pattern

@Spink2022 not great results unfortunately my hcg came back at 34

@Shannon88 im so sorry. Do you have to have another one in a few days to see if i it doubles? I’m never sure what it should actually be at each stage because my clinic doesn’t test levels. How are you feeling? Do you have a lot of support around you?

@Spink2022 im in with doctor on Monday morning aye . I’m not hopeful I had feeling it wasn’t gonna work when I stopped getting symptoms. I’m feeling okay I’m coming to terms with what the outcome is . I know it’s not anyone fault and these things happen so trying to stay strong so when I’m ready we can go again x

Thanks @Spink2022 thanks can't believe I'm wishing for symptoms 🤣 I called the clinic to ask if I could come for a scan on Monday but they said it's really better to wait so think I'll hang on. So weird I also had so many cramps with my son but other than the first week I've had none but thinking maybe it's because my uterus has already stretched. Have you been getting cramping?

@NS05 did you get sickness with your son?

not really had any cramping at all even after the EC and transfer. I had some little twinges and shooting pains up my back on and off. I also get some feelings there more like I’m aware of the area than cramping. However I also think I’m a terrible judge of this because I have stage 3 endometriosis so I’m used to being in agonising pain so I find it really hard to judge how bad pain actually is because my threshold is quite high.

Good to know re cramps that yours have died down too! Must be so painful with endometriosis hopefully you'll be pain free for 9 months now!

@NS05 that’s a good sign that you didn’t get any with your son. Maybe you just don’t get morning sickness! Hopefully after your scan you’ll be able to relax a bit more.

omg the pain is awful so I really really hope I get a good break from it!

Hi @NS05 - thanks for checking in! I'm 5w4d today and first scan is also a week tomorrow! Symptoms seem to be sore boobs, cramping, bit more tiredness, really dry mouth all the time and just feeling a bit faint. I've been super anxious today and I hate that, feel like my heart has been racing all day. How are you feeling?

@SunshineAndScience aw we are the same day how funny! I also have dry mouth and tiredness literally my only symptoms.

Had a lovely weekend with my family and also trying to just be less anxious but it's so hard! So desperate to give my son a sibling!

Hopefully we will all have good news come the new year! I'm away so don't have my 12w scan until 9th Jan but at least it's booked in!

@SunshineAndScience I didn't realise dry mouth was a symptom - thought it was central heating d'oh!

@NS05 my scan is on Tuesday! It can come around quick enough.

@SunshineAndScience i also have the dry mouth! And waking up for a wee in the night. My heart rate has increased too and that’s normal aparantly so might explain your racing heart.

my sickness has gotten so much worse since weds when I hit 6w. Todays the first day I’ve managed proper meals. I’m bad from 7am-12pm and then 4pm until
i go to bed so I think I just need to eat as much as I can between 12-4. I have to say I feel better this evening probably because I have a full stomach. I’ve also been extremely exhausted. Probs related to the sickness and not stopped sleeping all weeekend! Im not sure how I’m going to get through work all week!
