Pregnant after ivf - 5 weeks

Hi me and a couple of other lucky ladies have got our BFPs following ivf and wanted to create a new thread for others on their early pregnancy journey. I am 5+2 and my first scan is at 6+6. I’m very nervous something will go wrong.

Currently my symptoms are:

• very heavy, swollen, sore breasts
• some morning sickness
• burping and gas
• bloated
• tiredness

How is everyone feeling today? Starting to get anxious as still not really any symptoms but tiredness and a bit of heartburn it's really stressing me out. Still have 12 days til the scan but thinking of asking to go next week instead but not sure if I should just wait it out 🙈

@NS05 Feeling much the same as you! Is your scan the 28th too? Feels so long away! My symptoms seem to come and go, not feeling much today so of course I'm anxious! Wish I had a stomach like a tellytubby so I could just peek in and see all is well 😂

@SunshineAndScience yes mine is the same day how funny! It's so hard isn't it, I need to keep reminding myself with my son I had no symptoms but I did have lots of cramping. 12 days is so long I keep thinking about moving it forward but I know I should just wait!

Hi guys! Just wanted to share some positive news. Had my 7 week scan today and everything was looking good. Got to see the heartbeat too!

@NS05 I have only had heartburn and sore breasts as symptoms and the hospital nurse at the IVF clinic assured me that it's fine.

I thought being on the forums would help.. and it definitely did.. but I am going to trial not coming on daily to see if that helps with my anxiety at all. Having a good positive day today and I really hope I continue to feel this way x

morning everyone! Today is my official test date and the clear blue digital came back 2-3 weeks (it’s been 2w2 days since EC). Finally got to tell the clinic 😂 and my local maternity services have booked in my first midwife appt and first scan already! 😬 symptoms wise I am just shattered and the bloody 24/7 heartburn is driving me insane. My sister was saying that she had it constantly in her first pregnancy so wondering if I’ll be the same!

@habiller try not to worry! Before 7 weeks it can be hard to see anything on the scan, my clinic refuse to scan me before this point due to this reason. Fingers crossed all will be well 🙏

@Spink2022 happy 6 weeks today!!!! You poor thing with all those horrible symptoms. You sounds as if you are finding ways around it but it sounds absolutely debilitating. I feel ok today (touch wood), not much to report. How many days until your scan??

Hang in there @habiller , two days will hopefully fly by and you will soon feel reassured with your scan on Friday.

Hey everyone! Sorry I’ve been awol! I’ve had a couple of busy days at work. I’m so grateful for them because I find my anxiety increases when I’m not busy.

im 6+1 today and I feel like I’ve got a handle on my sickness. It comes and goes all day and is similar to motion sickness but im not throwing up now unless I smell something awful. My sense of smell and taste is strong! But other than that I’m feeling alright! 5 days to go until my scan! FriYAY tomorrow and then it’s the weekend then the scan will be here!

im trying to catch up on what I’ve missed! Sorry if I miss anyone’s updates.

@Quirked thats incredible news about your scan! How did it feel hearing the heartbeat? Are you feeling less anxious now?

How is everyone feeling and coping with symptoms? any good tips to share?

I’ve bought a few non wired comfy bralets in the biggest size I could and TOTALLY recommend. They’re so soft and comfy. I got a pack of 3 from Matalan for £7. 2 are nice colours and have a nice lacy back too so theyre not too Bridget Jones! i highly recommend!

@Spink2022 hey just plodding along! Still only heartburn and tiredness from me 🙈 was so tempted to move my scan forward but I think I'm just going to wait it's only 11 days I guess! How is everyone else doing?

@NS05 heart burn is what I had before the morning sickness arrived. I would say my morning sickness is mild. How far along will you be at you’re scan again?

@Spink2022 7w1 day (5 plus 4 now) I've always had my scans at 6w but I know it's better to wait! Tbh with my son I had no sickness so just thinking maybe I'm having another boy 🤣 I did get loads of cramps with him though and haven't had many 🙈 anyway I guess only time will tell! So exciting you only have 5 more days!!!

@NS05 yes i think there’s good reasons behind waiting until 7 weeks. Ooh interesting about the lack of sickness and boys.

im convinced I im having a girl/s because they’re slower embryos to develop and mine were behind! So my early sickness would point towards a girl too!

Yes you def will be @Spink2022! Mine was an AA so most likely to be a boy 🤣

Hi girls I hope use don’t mind me jumping in. I’m 4weeks 4days today . Had 5dt on the 4th nov . I have done my bloods today waiting on results but I’m worried as my tests haven’t been getting darker. I’ve no symptoms either

Hello am I ok to join?? I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Am literally in shock that it worked after two years of nothing! I'm not getting my hopes up though but still want to celebrate getting this far. Hope everyone doing well

@Spink2022 thank you . I’m very nervous for results . I’m over my head taking all these tests and none getting darker . It’s so hard to not test x

Thanks for asking after me @maybebaby2023 - appreciate it. Unfortunately I started bleeding heavily and passed clots. I've also had a negative test so I'm out of it 😔
