Pregnant after ivf - 5 weeks

Hi me and a couple of other lucky ladies have got our BFPs following ivf and wanted to create a new thread for others on their early pregnancy journey. I am 5+2 and my first scan is at 6+6. I’m very nervous something will go wrong.

Currently my symptoms are:

• very heavy, swollen, sore breasts
• some morning sickness
• burping and gas
• bloated
• tiredness

welcome to @Miraclesdohappen88 @Geordielass91 That’s good you are both the same far on, it’s good to share with someone the same weeks as you .. I have pretty much no symptoms apart from sore boobs and odd mild cramps .. never had morning sickness yet .. hope that can help put your mind at ease re lack of symptoms. Xx

@hopefullsosbry @maybebaby2023 glad we are all in the same boat re symptoms makes me feel much better!!! Honestly I've only had tiredness recently too but I'm always tired working with a toddler 🤣 anyway will update later today 🙏

Totally random question here...
I don't like milk never have done from being young so don't have any in my diet but do yous think I should try and make myself have a glass a day maybe? Just worried I don't get much calcium into my body.

@NS05 good luck with your scan! I hope the midwife apt also went well!

@Geordielass91 i don’t drink milk so I take calcium tablets. It’s recommended by nhs you have 1000mg a day and my pregnacare has 500 in so I take another 500g a day

I am feeling rough today - 6w3days, normally when I eat the nauseas subsides but it’s been pretty constant the last 24 hours! Hoping this is a good sign though. 5 more days until my scan!

@Spink2022 @NS05 congratulations on those scans! So clear I'm sure it's an unbelievable relief for you both!

I'm in 2 minds wether to book an early scan before Christmas I would be just over the 7 weeks by then all being well. Just be nice for a bit of reassurance over the festive period.

@Miraclesdohappen88 thank you. It’s such a personal choice I think. For me it brought me peace of mind but I know some people find it more stressful.

im so annoyed the midwife didn’t turn up! i waited around all day!! I called to find out where she is and she was in the office! She apologised and said she forgot and didn’t check her diary! Not a great start 🙄 this will delay the date for my first scan too!

Feel so relieved as havent had anything but tiredness but just shows it doesn't mean anything!

I've been so sick I've not even summoned the energy to post on the thread. But I've been reading and seeing all your scans is just so special!

We had our 8 week scan and I just couldn't believe I was looking at my baby! It's little heart beating away. Totally surreal experience. Husband had booked a special dinner for after but I felt so crap we just went home to bed!

Is anyone else terrified of falling in snow?! I really don't want to leave the house this week 🤦‍♀️

@NS05 I’m more scared of driving in it 😬 sometimes there’s only so much you can do to avoid skidding etc and our development is like an ice rink!

@NS05 I think I’m in the only place in the country with no snow 😂 Which I’m grateful for as it makes travelling to my scan today easier. Been awake since 5am, left home at 8:30 and still half an hour way - what a long journey! Keeping everything crossed to a little 8w5d baby in there xxx
