Spink2022 · 11/11/2022 20:04

Hi me and a couple of other lucky ladies have got our BFPs following ivf and wanted to create a new thread for others on their early pregnancy journey. I am 5+2 and my first scan is at 6+6. I’m very nervous something will go wrong.

Currently my symptoms are:

  • very heavy, swollen, sore breasts
  • some morning sickness
  • burping and gas
  • bloated
  • tiredness

Thank you @NS05 @SunshineAndScience and @Nerdalert. I'll try the lavender oil and was thinking about a sleep meditation or even a podcast to maybe help. It's just so frustrating! But seems very common, more so with the amount of progesterone we're taking in.

@SunshineAndScience @Sezzza good luck for today! Will be waiting to hear the positive and happy news. Fingers and toes crossed xx

itshimi · 28/11/2022 09:24

@hopefullsosbry It's so frustrating isn't it! I'm trying to keep telling myself that my body is getting as much rest as it needs to grow the baby and function, but it's especially hard at 3am when I'm wide awake with nothing to do.

Hope your sleep gets better too and you aren't too tired :( x

maybebaby2023 · 28/11/2022 09:53

@NS05 I completely sympathise. I went to bed at 8pm last night, watched TV until 2230-ish and then tried to sleep. I must’ve seen every hour on the clock after that. It felt like I was waking up the second I fell back asleep. Had to get up at 0530 for work and have no idea how I’m still alive!!

Ems123456789 · 28/11/2022 09:56

Hi @itshimi i have similar. Last night I slept from 11-1.45 and then 3-6 but it was all very broken. What I’m finding is that no matter how late I go to bed I will wake up. Saturday night I slept 8pm-4am and whilst that’s not ideal hours at least I get 8 hours. I find when I wake up early I feel so wired and charged!
I also work a busy job and so it’s tough!

Bubbafever · 28/11/2022 10:04

Good luck for the scans today @Sezzza @SunshineAndScience . I am one day behind you guys...

NS05 · 28/11/2022 10:22

Ah yes @Bubbafever good luck for tomorrow!! Hope all goes well for you too!

SunshineAndScience · 28/11/2022 11:13

Thank you everyone for your good luck messages! Scan went well, there’s a little baby with a heartbeat which was all I wanted. Measuring 3 days behind which made me worry slightly but the ultrasound tech said that’s absolutely fine! Cannot believe it, cried my eyes out xxx

hopefullsosbry · 28/11/2022 11:44

Good luck to you both 🥰

That’s amazing news ! So happy for you .. how many weeks are you ? You will be able to relax a bit now ?! Xx

Spink2022 · 28/11/2022 12:15

@Sezzza best of luck for today!
@Bubbafever best of luck for tomorrow!

@SunshineAndScience amazing news! It’s so overwhelming isn’t it?? I was measuring a day behind and they said it’s fine it is just a guide.

@Bubbafever I'm in tomorrow too. 1 o'clock 😁 excited and nervous. Good luck.

Bubbafever · 28/11/2022 12:22

@Nerdalert good luck. Mine is at 4pm. I am super nervous.

@SunshineAndScience that is brilliant news!!

@Spink2022 thanks :-) how are your symptoms?

Spink2022 · 28/11/2022 12:25

@Nerdalert good luck for tomorrow too!

@Bubbafever i think im just getting used to them now. I’m asleep at 9pm every night and wake up a couple of times for a wee 😂 I’m generally sick once a day but it’s just part of my day now! As long as I eat carbs fairly constantly then I don’t get too sick 😂 I’m gunna put on so much weight! How far along will you be tomorrow?

Bubbafever · 28/11/2022 12:30

I should be 6 weeks 6 days. I am a little nervous it is a bit early as usually people have it at 7 weeks. When did you have yours?

I have had nausea but today was the first time being sick. :-(

Spink2022 · 28/11/2022 12:35

@Bubbafever i had mine at 6+6 😊 no problems. Baby measured at 6+5 which is 5.1mm. A little small but nothing to worry about apparently 😊

the best advice I can give with sickness is to eat salty carbs all the time. Don’t let yourself get hungry. And the more sleep/rest I get the better I feel the next day so rest up!

Ah @SunshineAndScience great news!! So happy for you! Yes def don't worry about a few days it's a rough guide anyway and it depends on the sonographer how they measure it too!

@Nerdalert good luck for tmo too I'm sure you'll be fine!

Hope you're ok @Spink2022 and @Bubbafever today is the first day I've felt nauseous but luckily once I eat I'm ok! Have had quite a few cramps low down but luckily my Friday scan has kept me calm (for now 🤣) 12 days until my next one lol

Spink2022 · 28/11/2022 13:40

Thanks @NS05 i get craps on and off for a few days then it stops, then it comes back for a few more days. I think it’s just all the movement down there! Think how much our bodies are changing. It’s incredible!

Thank you all so much! The scan went really well. Baby is measuring exactly 6 weeks and 6 days and had a strong heart beat - 140bpm.
Such an emotional experience especially hearing and seeing the ❤️. Love a of joyful tears.

All the very best to those who have scans tomorrow xx

SunshineAndScience · 28/11/2022 16:27

Great news @Sezzza ❤️

Thank you @hopefullsosbry - I definitely feel calmer this evening than I’ve felt in the last two weeks. I said to the sonographer that the TWW between test and scan is harder than between transfer and test! I’m 6w5d, due 19th July. Baby was measuring 5.3mm which they’ve said is 6w2d but having a little google (we all do it don’t we) it seems it can be so varied at this stage!

My clinic does a scan at 8/9 weeks too so that’s in two weeks but not thinking about it now - just going to enjoy this evening!

Thanks for all the lovely messages today, what a lush group xxx

hopefullsosbry · 28/11/2022 17:47

Thats great news @Sezzza !
Good luck for those having scans tomorrow .. my scan is a week tomorrow, I’ll only be 6+2 by then, so I hope it’s not to early , all your scans seem to be 6+4 or later ?! 🙄 am thinking surely the clinic wouldn’t invite me so early for my scan if they thought it would be too early ?! Xx

hopefullsosbry · 28/11/2022 17:48

@SunshineAndScience enjoy your well deserved relaxing and chilled evening 🥰
