Pregnant after ivf - 5 weeks

Hi me and a couple of other lucky ladies have got our BFPs following ivf and wanted to create a new thread for others on their early pregnancy journey. I am 5+2 and my first scan is at 6+6. I’m very nervous something will go wrong.

Currently my symptoms are:

• very heavy, swollen, sore breasts
• some morning sickness
• burping and gas
• bloated
• tiredness

@habiller thanks.. just don’t know if that will just cause so much more anxiety rather than waiting the extra day or two .. if they don’t see a heart beat will no doubt say come bk in a week .. then I’ll have another week to wait not knowing if it’s ok or not 😵‍💫🥹.. aahhh fingers crossed for a visual on the day 🤞🏽

Im sure itl be ok @hopefullsosbry for my son I actually had it at 5 plus 6 and there was a HB and even with my MMC it was 6 plus 2 and there was one. It's fairly likely to be in the 6th week but I think they do closer to 7 in rare cases. Sure you will see one and all will be well 🙏☺️

@NS05 thsnks , that’s reassuring that your saw a heart beat so early on, it’s such a worrying time huh ?! 🙄Next week can’t come quick enough xx

All is well, we have 1 tiny blob all safe and sound! I have the gestational sac from the 2nd embryo we had implanted but nothing in it. She was able to confirm viability and a heartbeat but was unable to count the bpm. I have another next week, which will sooth my anxiety for another week at least! One happy mama here!

Thanks @NS05 . Bubba is doing well! We saw his/her heartbeat and exactly 6 weeks 6 days!! Gosh the tears were something - both me and the husband! I can relax a little now x

We’ve got our first midwife apt on 10th and our scan won’t be until 14 weeks she said. So we will definitely be doing 2 private ones. Maybe one next week and one on 23rd.

I’ve also found a good stomach settler for my sickness! It’s harina tangfastics! I can highly recommend! Much better than ginger for me but not my teeth😅 I braved weighing myself today because my clothes look a bit tight and the midwife said she will check my bmi but I’ve actually lost 0.5kg so I’m happy with that. It really is all bloat.

I stop progesterone today (8 weeks) and I’m already looking for blood every time I go to the loo. So I think a scan next week would be good

@Spink2022 I also have a midwife appt on the 10th! I booked for a scan after that too. Do whatever you need to do to reassure yourself that's what I'm doing!

So good you've lost weight too and are off the progesterone, I wish I was too 🤣

@NS05 thats great we’re the same day! They said they’re going to send me all the info they need beforehand. I think it’s medical history and family history. She said that they will refer me to the consultant automatically because of the ivf but the consultant will likely say they don’t need to see or speak to me. I’m hoping the consultant decides they do want to see me because I’ll get more appointments and scans.

ive booked s private scan for next Friday so I’ll be 9+2 then we will be hoping to get one as close to Xmas as we can, hopefully 23rd but I’m waiting until after next weeks before booking just incase. The private place said they don’t recommend more than once a fortnight so that will be 2 weeks after our other. then I’ll happily wait for the nhs one.

im 8 weeks today and the sickness has really ramped up in the last couple of days. I think that’s why I’ve lost weight 😂 I’m sick pretty much every morning and the evenings my sickness is awful. Nothing stays down. and I’ve really noticed a change in my mood. I can see why they say it gets worse at 8 weeks. But hopefully these are all good signs 🤞🤞

my stomach is so round and hard. I said to the midwife that I hope it goes down a bit now I’m off the progesterone but she said it won’t 😂 I’m having to wear baggy clothes to hide it!! Can’t wait until I have the Xmas weight excuse 😂

how are you feeling? Still pretty good? I’m so jealous 😂😂 id love to eat a meal and not throw up. My teeth are starting to hurt now. I need to make a dentist apt.

Oh so funny our scans and appointments are so similar! Yes I'm going to have one at 9 weeks and then another at 11 before we go away and then the nhs one at 13!

Uch so rubbish you are feeling ill! I'm mostly just exhausted, find it so hard with a toddler this time around as I just have no chill time to rest. He's hit the terrible twos and is defo more hard work but looking forward to our break away!

Regarding stomach mine is HUGE I literally look 5 months pregnant and wear such baggy clothes to work as I'm so scared someone will notice and I've only been there a few months 🤣

@Spink2022 you might remember me saying I was told my levels were low they thought was chemical pregnancy few weeks ago. I’ve been to the epu this week twice and my levels have doubled and they now think it’s a pregnancy. My whole pregnancy so far has been a mess from being told it’s chemical to possibly ectopic to now a pregnancy. My levels are still low but they have more than doubled so I dunno if I’m out or not yet but apparently still pregnant so here I am lol

Hi everyone! I've been suffering with a horrendous upset stomach (tmi) 24/7 since Monday night. Even during the night. I had some cramping Monday night so contacted EPU. They had us in for an early scan this morning to check everything's ok in that respect. They found a heartbeat straight away, measuring 6w3d, 7mm. Couldn't believe it 😊I was really expecting them to have to do it transvaginally with it being less than 7w but came up straight away on abdominally. They did say that my follicles are still pretty huge and, I must say, seeing them on the scan... they looked just like they did during the stims! Is that normal?! My upset tummy is still ongoing, GP doesn't think it's pregnancy related, waiting on some tests coming back.

@NS05 i honestly don’t know how you’re doing this with a toddler! You’re superwoman!!

where are you going on holiday?

I’ve been doing a weekly photo of my belly and the comparison of my belly and boobs from week 4 to week 8 is massive!

@Shannon88 hi again! Thank you for the update! I’m so glad your levels are doubling. It sounds like you’ve had the most stressful time! How are you feeling? Have they given you a scan?

@maybebaby2023 omg your baby is measuring so big! What brilliant news!! Congratulations! I have no idea about the folicules. Can you speak to your clinic? I will say I’m still getting twinges in what I think is my left ovary and I do wonder if it is from where I had loads of cysts drained? Fingers crossed your upset stomach is sorted soon and you don’t have to wait long for your results. It must be even more exhausting on top of early pregnancy symptoms!

@Spink2022 im so stressed it’s definitely a rollercoaster ride I’m on. I had a scan on Monday and they didn’t see anything they want me back next week to scan again! Was told to look out for ectopic symptoms but was also told no sign of ectopic on scan on Monday so yeah it’s definitely a stressful time! Lol
@NS05 ah god I don’t even know what to think anymore this is a crazy pregnancy so far! Lol

@Shannon88 gosh that sounds horrific not knowing where you stand!! Have you had any symptoms? How far along are you?
