Congratulations @Laughingmole - hope you're settling in and recovering now

CP22 · 21/11/2022 11:37

Hi all, very long time no post (but I have been lurking lots!).

Can’t believe we have our first baby in the group. Congratulations @Laughingmole he is adorable 💙

Laughingmole · 21/11/2022 14:22

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages. I can’t wait to see your scrummy babies when they are born too xxxx

Bluebonnet3 · 21/11/2022 15:22

Hi @TeamBluex4 , hoping all is well!

MrsN3 · 21/11/2022 20:33

Congratulations @Laughingmole what a beautiful baby boy 💙 did you know you were having a boy or was he a gorgeous surprise?

This makes it all seem real now! I have kept myself busy with work and finish this Friday at 38wks5days- finally starting to feel ready to leave teaching for a year (although still doesn’t feel right to be off just yet! And I still keep forgetting I will be having a baby- maybe it’s the lack of knowing if it’s a boy or girl that makes me feel so unsure about this life change? 😂)

Hope everyone is doing okay with the final few weeks- we’ve got this!!

HayleyBean · 21/11/2022 20:44

Congratulations @Laughingmole what a gorgeous little guy!!!

scottishmomma · 22/11/2022 21:02

Mommabear20 · 23/11/2022 17:15

Have been booked in for an induction tomorrow morning after another growth scan! 😁 can't wait to have her here! Managed to convince my DH that we should get a takeaway for tea tonight so as not to mess up my newly cleaned kitchen before baby arrives 😂

Ah that's great news @Mommabear20! Can't wait to hear how it all goes!
Defo a good plan on the takeaway 👍🏻

Bluebonnet3 · 23/11/2022 19:15

Exciting news @Mommabear20 ! How far are you along?

I think they will confirm my induction date at my next scan next week on Wed when I'll be 37w. At the moment I have a provisional induction date of 38w (7 Dec).

I moved the start date of my maternity leave up to the start of this week (just in case I'm induced next week), so I've been trying to do organising and relaxing things. My new mattresses arrived for my second hand next-to-me cot and moses basket, and I've been doing laundry like baby sheets and towels and clothes. Today I had a pregnancy massage, which was so relaxing!

Laughingmole · 23/11/2022 20:43

Good luck @Mommabear20 hope the induction goes well and you soon get cuddles with your little girl!

MrsN3 · 23/11/2022 20:57

Good luck @Mommabear20
I had my 38 week midwife appointment today and they’ve said I have to have a growth scan this Saturday as baby seems to have been static in growth for a few weeks now (trying not to worry but think that’s parenthood!) anyone else gone through similar or know someone that has?

TradedAtlanta · 23/11/2022 21:42

@MrsN3 I've had growths scans this pregnancy for appearing to fall below my curve and another for appearing to have suddenly shot up multiple centile lines. My growth scans have shown baby is happily plodding along the same line. Really, honestly don't worry about it. Such an inexact 'science'. Even if they are right and your baby hasn't grown much recently, at 38 weeks they will be able to deliver the baby a bit early and everything will be absolutely fine.

MrsN3 · 23/11/2022 22:29

@TradedAtlanta thank you so much this is so reassuring to hear! ☺️

Congratulations @TeamBluex4 !

JC84 · 24/11/2022 05:42

@MrsN3 try not to worry, my first 2 measurements were off the chart my second 2 were mid chart but the same so sent for growth scan, showed he was half kg above expected and large AC so sent for gtt which was fine. Different midwife last week but finally got referred after much debate with her as my midwife said she would refer me due to anxiety about going over due date. Saw consultant yesterday and having scan next week at 37+5 so if he's still showing large will induce at 38 or 39. Bump measurements aren't very reliable imo! I'm still hoping he will decide to come on his own because I'm in so much pain low down 😂

Mommabear20 · 24/11/2022 06:11

Thanks everyone!

@TeamBluex4 congratulations! He's beautiful!

@MrsN3 I've had growth scans with all 3 of mine, first for being small and the younger 2 for being big, all are perfectly healthy. The doctors and midwives always like to be cautious so don't worry yourself.
