Baby was born at 39+1 today!
Started contracting at 3:30pm had my elective section at 10::37pm. Was fully dilated within 3 hours. Second baby

chardaboo · 17/12/2022 06:40

@Chanel05 congrats ! I hope you are recovering well and baby is good - did you have your elective booked and then went into labour so it got moved to when you went into labour on your own?

FiJen · 17/12/2022 06:56

Congratulations to everyone and their gorgeous new arrivals! Today is baby’s due date and patiently waiting, they don’t seem to be in any hurry and a Christmas baby is looking more and more likely. DS came at 39+4 so always thought baby 2 would be earlier so already feel like I’m overdue 😂

TeamBluex4 · 17/12/2022 12:36

@Sdoubleyou congratulations!! 😁
how are all the mothers & babies doing? cant believe our little boy is 4 weeks old already!! also would like to say, goodluck to all those ladies who are impatiently waiting for their arrival, hope all goes well for you all 💕

TeamBluex4 · 17/12/2022 12:37

Congratulations to everyone who had their baby!! Hope you're all doing well.

I'm due on NYE so I'm now at 38+1. Super excited to meet my boy 😭

Congratulations to all the new mummies and arrivals!

Impatiently been waiting here (38+3) but been awake the last hour with regular tightening in my lower abdomen every 7 minutes... Hoping it's not a false alarm...! I was expecting to feel everything in my back...

Update: It was baby! She arrived three hours after this....!! Little Evie born 15 December weighing 7lbs9oz at 38+3 weeks.

MadamMaltesers · 18/12/2022 20:14

Congratulations to all new mums. @AmyAW wow you were posting when it was all kicking off, congrats!

41 wks today, off to the midwife to get a sweep and see if we can get things moving.

FiJen · 19/12/2022 13:37

Good luck @Tofu35! Hope things go well for you today and you have your little babe in your arms soon!

Hi Tofu
how was your sweep, I had one today (38 weeks) it was so painful 😖

Tofu35 · 19/12/2022 21:14

@Ababy0506 it definitely wasn't pleasant! And I wasn't at all dilated so the midwife wasnt able to go high enough to do a proper membrane sweep. I've booked in for a balloon induction tomorrow but today's midwife suggested I would probably be better off with a pessary. So we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Seems this baby is quite comfortable staying in until Christmas (when I'll be 42 weeks!).

My midwife said I can have another sweep on Thursday but I’m going to pass 😩😂

Tofu35 · 20/12/2022 08:01

@Ababy0506 you're well within your rights to delay/reject their offer of another one- 38 weeks that's still pretty early for sweeps :) Did they give a reason for offering multiple ones?

I delayed mine until 41 weeks and still got nothing 😂

It’s because with my first I went 41+3 days and my water was leaking from the amniotic sack.
hoping I go earlier so it doesn’t happen again!
I’m definitely going to pass on a second 😂

Bluebonnet3 · 21/12/2022 10:20

Congrats to all the new babies! Hope you are all doing well! Good luck to those still waiting!

Today baby Nathan is 2 weeks old + 3 days (Today was also his expected due date), and things are good. A could days ago he surpassed his birth weight, so I'm really happy with that!

He was quite small at birth and then lost 10% by day 3. The latch hasn't worked yet so we are bottle feeding a combination of formula and expressed breast milk. Was quite distraught at the beginning that breastfeeding wasn't working but at least he is eating and gaining weight.

Also he is super cute and has us both wrapped around his little finger. 🥰

Joining late - hi all and congrats to all with their new babies <3

I’m 38 weeks today with my second baby and have a section booked next week. One week to go in fact, if she waits!!

Been feeling very sick which is annoying - anyone else getting that? And Braxton Hicks creeping in. And insomnia!!

kittymu9397 · 22/12/2022 13:21

Had a false alarm last night. Belly kept tightening every 10 minutes all day and throughout the night which pushes up baby into my ribs, it's so uncomfortable...and then after a couple of naps I woke up with horrendous back pain. It all eased off around 7a.m so I managed to sleep a little bit after it.
I'm in tears from how tired I am. Just want this baby to come. Will be 39 weeks on Saturday 😔😔

I feel your pain, I'm 39+3 and have been like this for 3 days. Struggling to parent my 4 year old and survive off less sleep than I had when she was newborn. Hope something happens for you soon and you get your little bubba x

39+6 and have had this off and on since Monday. Had a sweep at the MW yesterday as I'm just exhausted, uncomfortable and emotional. Fully engaged, cervix short and 1cm dilated but no further progress today. On my ball watching Xmas movies and going to take the dogs for a short walk in a bit to try and get them moving! At our last growth scan last week baby was estimated 8lb 10 (2lb bigger than my last baby at birth) so hoping they dont need too much more cooking!
Good luck x

kittymu9397 · 22/12/2022 15:19

@Nursemumma92 oh my!! Hats off to you and everyone else who's going through this and have a child/children at home. I honestly don't know how you ladies do it!! Wishing you the best of luck!! X

kittymu9397 · 22/12/2022 15:20

@3rdtimerodeo It's so hard not knowing when it will all finally kick off! Doing the same as you and trying to walk my dog but I've now been getting sharp stabbing pains in my lower abdomen along with the tightenings.

Best of luck to you!!! Xx

Can totally relate. Trying to keep up with a very energetic 3 year old is so hard at times! Have brought him to soft play to burn off some pre Christmas energy. I feel like a spectacle this pregnant?! Feel unbelievably fortunate to be in this position (years of infertility, endometriosis and IVF) but also very ready to not be pregnant!

Chanel05 · 23/12/2022 13:05

@chardaboo I had my elective booked for 22nd December when I would have been 40+0. Went into spontaneous labour on Friday 16th in the afternoon. He's my second child so I knew with no doubt in milt mind it was labour. Things ramped up quickly and I was contracting 4 in 10 within 2 hours. After 3 hours we arrived at the hospital and I was 9cm. My front waters hadn't gone but were bulging and the doctors said he would need to be a vbac if they went as he was so low. I could feel him coming down! I decided to go for a section anyway and had a long wait for theatre but those front waters held on so it went very smoothly.

What a cutie! This is so similar to us. Evie has lost 10% too and we're on a feeding plan to try and help her regain. I've been totally distraught about it but trying to remain positive. She has another weigh in tomorrow with a risk we could be readmitted to hospital for support over Christmas. Seems totally unjust, given every night she cluster feeds for hours 🤣
