Hey all, made it to full term/37 weeks today! Woohoo! Now I'm honestly so done being pregnant 😅
Could I just ask a question, to those of you having growth scans etc. How closely do fundal height measurements link to baby size? I'm measuring around 85 percentile in my fundal height chart, and was just wondering if that correlates directly to baby being a chunky boy?

I thought full term was 39 weeks? I know 37 is weeks is full term for twins that's when I'm classed as full term and they're whipping them out.

Have I got it wrong this whole time 🤣.

I always thought 37 weeks was full term - most of my female family members went into labour at 37 weeks and babies were healthy/fully grown with no issues or NICU stay.

However I have read some websites saying full term is 39 weeks... So who knows 😂

Tofu35 · 13/11/2022 22:33

Got a voicemail from my midwife today to say my blood tests were back and my iron levels are low, so it's a prescription for me! Hope my levels increase to a decent level over the next few weeks (im 36 weeks right now).

But these things happen at the end, I guess! Baby is getting bigger and probably demanding more from me.

chardaboo · 14/11/2022 00:06

@Tofu35 ahh yes this is quite common I got that at 28 weeks !

JC84 · 14/11/2022 06:34

@PinkButtercups as I understand it, full term is 39/40 weeks and they will leave you 10-14 days past due date but 37 weeks everything is fully formed so its around eviction time for those with previous or current issues, big babies, twins or planned sections once they're in there 37-38 week
Gtt today felt really sick all night 👎🏻

PinkButtercups · 14/11/2022 07:30

Ah I see!

@JC84 Good luck with your test! I had the test done at 16 weeks this time and the drink is still as awful as it used to be except they took the flavour away to give a plain one! Yuck! If you feel sick be sure to ask for a sick bowl. I did find the drink made me gag

Mommabear20 · 14/11/2022 07:57

According to the NHS, pre-term is before 37 weeks, full term is 37-41 weeks and then post term is anything after 42 weeks.

I'm feeling very much like I'm back in the first trimester, which is not appreciated! How's everyone else doing?

JC84 · 14/11/2022 09:59

Thankyou @PinkButtercups . It was delightful as expected, really sweet and Raspberry flavour so I drank as fast as possible 😂 Roll on 2 hours for more blood then I can eat! He is not very happy qe have missed breakfast today 😂@Mommabear20 I'm definitely not as bad as the first trimester but that was awful for me, I am however feeling sick most of the morning everyday again and I'm exhausted as only sleeping 4-6 hours and still working which is mentally challenging at this time of year and more so qhen so tired!

Jaaxe · 14/11/2022 16:13

I thought full term was anything after 37 weeks.

@Tofu35 i got a call today too saying my iron levels are really low and consultant wants me to go in tomorrow to have an iron infusion and then another next week to bring them up. Explains why I’ve been feeling like death 🤣

@Mommabear20 i feel like this too, exhausted and sickly, starting to wonder if I’ll make it to my mat leave date at work xx

Bluebonnet3 · 15/11/2022 00:08

I had yet another growth scan today at 34w + 5. Good news! Baby is now up to 11th centile (up from 6% 2 weeks ago and 3% 2 weeks before that). That's approx 4lbs 9oz or a smidge over 2kg. They have arranged another growth scan for 37w (+0). They said it's still likely they will want me to deliver in week 38 at the latest.

While I was in the waiting room my DH and I were passing the time texting, placing bets on what size/centile baby would be. I said 8%. DH said above 10%, and if he was right it would be down to him supplying me with a steady stream of cheesecake last week! Well, he was right, and now he has to keep it up! Baby wants cheesecake!

MadamMaltesers · 15/11/2022 04:15

@Jaaxe I had an iron infusion 3 weeks ago too since my ferritin was rock bottom. I feel like a new woman now. So much better than taking the tablets.

AmyAW · 15/11/2022 12:13

34+1 today, and confirmation from the midwife that baby is 2/5 engaged already! So happy as I was convinced she had flipped to breach - but still happily head down 🥰 makes it feels so soon now...!

Tofu35 · 15/11/2022 15:16

@Jaaxe I genuinely thought it was normal because my sleep has been so bad over the last few months with needing frequent toilet trips! Can't believe I'd normalised it, hope the iron infusion helps you xx

Mommabear20 · 15/11/2022 17:00

Have got another growth scan at 38 weeks (next week) and been booked in for an induction at 39 weeks 😁

MrsN3 · 15/11/2022 17:26

Happy news… went for a positioning scan today at 37.2 weeks and baby was head down! So relieved after too much googling!

HayleyBean · 15/11/2022 18:32

I also had a midwife appt today as 36 weeks. Baby is head down and 2/5 engaged! Had a really good chat with my midwife about my birth plan and she told me all about what happens during labour and the different stages

Laughingmole · 15/11/2022 19:54

Eek I met with the hospital doctor today about my liver biles and they are inducing at 38 weeks…. Which means I’m being induced this Sunday!! 😱😱😱 I have 5 days until my baby is potentially here! This is getting real now!

Laughingmole · 15/11/2022 19:56

@Tofu35 I was on iron tablets for 3 weeks a few weeks ago. After the 3 weeks my levels had gone back to normal and I could stop taking them!
Prepare yourself for your poo to turn black!!

lifechanginglemoncake · 15/11/2022 19:58

Ooh @Mommabear20 I've got an induction at 39+1 and I think we have the same due date. Babies are almost here.

Jaaxe · 16/11/2022 06:49

@Laughingmole wow you might be first in group to have the baby! How exciting!

I had the iron infusion yesterday, felt fine at the time but felt a bit off last night and this morning, might be completely unrelated though x

Tofu35 · 16/11/2022 07:09

Horrible acid reflux last night, one of the ones where lying down would instantly lead to an acid feeling in my throat but when I sat up it was just lots of mini burps. I'm very glad to work from home, definitely need a nap (and to find some antacids).

@Laughingmole I'll have to add 'black poo' to my other pregnancy health complaints 😂

MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee · 16/11/2022 11:17

@Laughingmole
How exciting!!
We have the same due date, I've also been diagnosed with OC/IHP.
I had it with my first and was induced at 37+5 and delivered at 38w.
This time round they are inducing my before 39w (so next week).

What the highest your bile acids have been so far?

PinkButtercups · 16/11/2022 14:57

Oh my goodness! How lovely!!!

I have also been told I have OC/ICP at 28 weeks.
My scheduled CS is 14th December at 37 weeks due to being multiples but been having bloods weekly.

My ALT has dropped but my bile acids are fluctuating. Lowest was 20 and last week they were at 44. Had Liver and Bile Acid bloods yesterday so not sure of those results.

My consultant is taking it week by week and just keeping a close eye on the BA's.

Laughingmole · 16/11/2022 18:28

My bile acids haven’t been as high as that, the highest is 14. But the itching is still insane! My baby is also measuring over the 90th centile, so a combination of both of these means early induction.
Does anyone have any positive induction stories? I’m worried I’m just going to be sitting round the hospital waiting for something to happen for hours, getting more and more stressed!

TeamBluex4 · 16/11/2022 20:37

Hello again ladies well currently in hospital been here since yesterday for the induction via balloon well they put in around 1am (early hours of this morning - my gosh was it painfull 😧 but had some gas n air to hand!) my hospital guidlines is to give the balloon up to 24 hours for it to fall out on its own if cervix is dialated enough (was only 1cm prior to ballon been put in, cervix soft but posterior) anyway currently is it 8:37pm and still no sign on balloon coming out (have just short of 5 hours left of my 24) as the doctor has said if no balloon comes out they will have to take it out and then break my waters 😬 sooo currently bouncing up & down on a birthing ball in the hope to help my cervix dialate.. has anyone had their waters broken? So nervous!
