Jaaxe · 05/11/2022 12:04

@Vg92 will keep you updated but I’m a bit behind you, will be 33weeks on Wednesday when they do my next growth scan, having them every 2 weeks….last time it measured between the 3rd and the 10th centile….there’s a couple of us on here with the same so you’re in good company! I actually don’t believe mine will be born small to be honest as I’ve had both previous big and normal sized babies, never had a small one x

CW2211 · 05/11/2022 12:15

Hope both your babies grow a good amount before making their arrival, though I'm sure they will be absolutely perfect no matter what!
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this before or currently but for the past week or so I've been dealing with a lot of itchiness. It started on my stomach where my stretch marks are so I just put it down to skin stretching etc and maybe PEP/PUPPS which I read can just make you really itchy etc and give you red, raised stretch marks which mine are now. However it then moved to other places like my thighs, hands, biceps etc so I did have a blood test done on Wednesday and at mw appt yesterday she said everything came back normal as they were checking bile acids and liver function in case it was ICP/OC. I might get another blood test done in a week or so just check again as I have read sometimes the levels don't show up as abnormal for a few weeks. I wake up scratching my belly and legs and its getting frustrating even if I lather myself in creams etc. Where I itch comes up in small rashes though as if its a bite but I think it is pregnancy related definitely and wondering if anyone has any tips or advice?
Sorry for the long post!

Vg92 · 05/11/2022 15:17

@CW2211 hi, not sure if it will help much but over the last few weeks my belly is itchy as well. I just recently got very mild stretch marks around my belly and the itchiness is mainly on the sides. I am on blood thinner injections since i got pregnant and I apply them inn the my belly so it may be just because of that although I have not had any itchiness until the last few weeks.

MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee · 05/11/2022 16:59

@CWCW2211 in my first pregnancy I had mild itching at 33w which by 36w was unbearable, kept me up at night. At 33w my bile acids were low/normal but by 36w they were high and I was diagnosed with OC/ICP.
The insensitivity of the itch and the amount of bile acids have no correlation but the acids can rapidly rise and fall so its good to have another check if the itch continues.

PinkButtercups · 05/11/2022 17:04

32 weeks today and get my induction/c section date on Tuesday at my 32 week appt with consultant.

It's day by day/week by week for me at the moment due to ICP/GD/Twins.

I think I can't go over 37.

Sorry for the long post!

If any itching continues you have to have weekly bile acid and liver function tests. That's the guidelines for OC/ICP. I got told at 28 weeks I have OC/ICP and the last two days my itching has ramped up again 😩

Mommabear20 · 05/11/2022 17:11

Supposed to have a appointment to discuss an induction date on Tuesday due to baby measuring big, they mentioned it'd most likely be around 39 weeks but I'm now wondering whether to ask for it closer to 38 weeks as both my previous DC were born at 39 weeks and both very fast labours, and I don't want to be caught out with this one! Am I just being daft or does that sound reasonable?

CW2211 · 05/11/2022 18:16

@Vg92 I have had it on the sides of belly too as well as thighs and arms it just seems to be everywhere! Could be because of your injections but hopefully it doesn't get too severe for you

CW2211 · 05/11/2022 18:21

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee Yes I have read that the severity of itching doesn't correlate to how high you acids are and some people might have very mild itching but severe levels. I truly think I do have OC/ICP though so my midwife has sad if I want another test done next week she's happy to do one. I was 34+1 when this one was done so next one would be 35+3 I think. It is not too bad during the day though some days are worse, but the night is the worst and I wake up scratching myself and feel terrible about it!

@PinkButtercups thank you, I think it'll still be around but next week so will have another test done (even though I hate having the midwife take my bloods and she's left me with a really bad bruise this time that even shocked her when she saw it two days later!). I hope you can find some relief from it somehow! I'm putting cream and oil on my stomach regularly and that's where I'm trying not to itch but everywhere else just seems to be random places that isn't worth putting anything on cause some of them are small areas too :/

I think that sounds totally reasonable based on what you've said! The worst that can happen is you mention it and they say no we can't do it earlier, best case they say yeah and you have baby here sooner :)

Hi, ftm and very scared. I was told I will need a c section between 37 and 38 weeks because the baby is small, currently 2kg at 35+4 days. I am very nervous the section may be at 37 weeks exactly because I think it is very early for the baby to be out and he might be less than 2.5 kg which is not good either.
My scan due date is 6 December but my last period due date is 11 December. Then estimated the section according to the scan date which I know is more accurate but can't help but worry it may be too soon.
Also although I have anterior placenta, the baby is active and kicks strongly, I can accurate see the kicks through my belly.
Any experience about birth at 37 weeks/ around 2.5 kg and /or expected small babies that are active will be a huge help. Thank you and wish you all a calm and nice weekend!

My older brother was born at 37 weeks and 5.5 lbs weight. He was a perfectly healthy baby.

Vg92 · 05/11/2022 18:52

@MsCactus Thank you very much for sharing your positive experience! 🤗

PinkButtercups · 05/11/2022 22:06

@Vg92 my DN was born at 36 weeks and was 5lb something. No NICU stay, home the next day.

I was born at 34 weeks but was a beast they think my mum had undiagnosed GD. I had no NICU stay either.

PinkButtercups · 05/11/2022 22:07

@CW2211 Thanks!
The itching is driving me crazy. It's on the palm of my hands and the sole of my feet and in between fingers and toes. I got given Arjun Cream.

But the itch for me can be absolutely anywhere!

Sdoubleyou · 06/11/2022 00:46

Has RSV been raging in the UK? I'm in Canada and it's been really bad in the last few months. The childrens' hospitals are sometimes at over 200% capacity. We're a little worried about our December baby, so we're planning on keeping a low profile with him until he's a little older, has his first shots and the weather gets warmer. It typically gets down to -20'C, -30C in January here so I think we'll be staying at home quite a bit. How are you all planning to cope?

Vg92 · 06/11/2022 09:54

@PinkButtercups thank you for the reassurance, it makes me feel much better 🤗

Mommabear20 · 07/11/2022 07:59

How's everyone doing this miserable Monday morning?
I've woken up with horrendous lower back pain 😭 I'm on serious labour sign spotting now 😂

OP posts:
Laughingmole · 07/11/2022 10:16

@Mommabear20 I have a bit of neck and back pain too but I’m blaming not being able to get into a comfortable sleeping position. I have a pregnancy massage booked this afternoon so looking forward to that!
My lovely friends and family threw a surprise baby shower yesterday so me and little one are feeling very loved 🥰

Ababy0506 · 07/11/2022 10:59

Is anyone absolutely struggling I’m 32 weeks and just feel like the next 6-8 weeks are a million miles away! Currently full of cold, out of breath, can’t sleep, no appetite and generally miserable
just needed to put that out there 🤧 roll on the next few weeks

Mommabear20 · 07/11/2022 11:14

@Ababy0506 preaching to the choir!!! We've all got colds, coughs and sore throats in my house. My back is an absolute disaster, couldn't get comfy if my life depended on it, my appetite completely disappeared about a week ago and now feeling more like I'm in the first trimester all over again! I'm 35+5 weeks and even the thought of only having another 3+2 left (probably getting induced @39 weeks) is torture! I don't recall ever being this uncomfortable or anything with my other 2 at this point. I was definitely over being pregnant but not to the point where I just want to cry 😭

OP posts:
Ababy0506 · 07/11/2022 12:10

@Mommabear20 😓 urgh I’m glad i‘m not the only one, feels like time has slowed down…I dread going to bed each night because I’m so uncomfortable 😣
Definitely needing a cry 😭😂

Tofu35 · 07/11/2022 13:30

@Mommabear20 I like in the first thread we were all chatting about conception symptom spotting and now it's labour symptom spotting 😂 if only we could POAS and find out when our babies were coming (like those clear blue first response ones that could detail weeks).

Although saying that, knowing would probably freak me out!

TheOnlyException1 · 07/11/2022 15:21

Had my 36 week check up today and apparently little one is measuring up nicely and is in just the right position - he's head down, and bobbing up and down, almost engaging apparently, so I'm happy to hear he's behaving (ftm so had some anxiety around positioning/breech etc.)
I'm not going to lie, the 26 days until my due date feels like a bit of a monster wait, I'm so impatient to meet him! Although I'm still working for another 2 weeks, so probably best he doesn't come too much before that!
